  1. Well, in Fallout it was in a more silly, non-serious way. Comparing it to Bethesda's "IT'S AWESOME DUDES!"-jock-attitude way isn't exactly the same thing.
  2. KotOR 1. This time with EAX 3 on the sound and with 8xAA and 16xAF. Hopefully, Team Gizka will have their restoration project for KotOR II done by the time i am finished with this game.
  3. A slight texture upgrade wouldn't do any good since the characters looks like they are made from LEGO. A drastic increase of polygons would be a first priority, IMO.
  4. I've taken anti-biotics twice in my entire life. Once in 1988 when i was a kid, and two years ago when i had an eye-infection (And i also thought that it was excesseray for a swollen eye). Other than serious infections, i fail to see the use of anti-biotics when you have a fever, cold or whatnot.
  5. The first 2-3 hours of the game was incredible. Musice, art, production values and story. Then i realized that there were no penalty for death, i could get every plasmid i wanted, hacking was a nonissue. Basically, i went on and became a jack of all trades. Also, the story fell apart in terms of end boss, C&C for the little sisters and the ending itself.
  6. I don't think that they can ever quit with the manga, it has sold 30 million copies already. But another anime would be nice.
  7. I got the Berserk: Box of War and i will try to watch it this weekend. I wonder if i will cope with the final episode "The Great Eclipse" though.
  8. That would be awful. Bioware shouldn't "copy" anything from the Witcher. They should just create their own damn universe. Oh, btw: David Gaider > Andrzej Sapkowski Well, i wasn't meaning that Bioware should copy the setting, but sharing similarities is never wrong though.
  9. KotOR supports wide-screen mode?
  10. Oh, i went a little off-topic there. My point is, that it would be interesting on how the result would be if Bioware would focus on a similar setting as The Witcher.
  11. Parts of it certainly do, which is why I was quick to point out that the Poles went way overboard with the whole sex card notion earlier in the thread. What I was more referring to was the generally bleak world, the moral ambiguity, etc. Those are themes that most fantasy simply doesn't have, unfortunately, because at least to my mind, they make any given story much more interesting for the simple fact that, to me, it's a more 'realistic' presentation. The sex cards play such a minor role in the game that it is to the point of being insignificant. At best, they are some tacky, tongue-in-cheek humor. Still, the American market seems too immature to accept such things The Witcher was rated 'Adult' (18 and older) in Europe, due to excessive violence. There is no mention of nudity on my box. (Well, the scandinavian version at least). Is there a point to all this? What is exactly mature? A nipple-slip? Cursing? Blood and gore? Moral ambiguity? It's a little more than that, i would say. Having a 'mature' game means to me, that people behave like adults in real life: They are fallible. There are no "muahaha, i am so evil"-people, and little to no Pius' either. They try to get through the day as they can, some are drunk, some are cheating, some are gambling, some are trying to work. They are (just like you and me) mostly hypocrites, closet xenophobic, scared of the unknown and serving themselves and their closest ones first and foremost. In The Witcher, the majority of people behave like that, which makes it easy to call it a mature game. But one have to remember that it is still a world with magic, elves and dwarves, which deviates from the having a mature setting in the first place.
  12. By how many days? It started in mid-april in 2005, so around 150 days or so left.
  13. Gaider did say you would have love. Maybe he meant frequently. I'm sold. Instant buy on releaseday
  14. Definately, but that doesn't necessarily mean that it is a bad thing. 1. Dark and grim setting? Check! 2. Dwarves are outcasts? Check! 3. Elves are usually terrorists? Check! 4. Standard racism against non-humans? Check! 5. Magic-users are few and feared? Check! 6. More focus on C&C (=grey area) than black&white choices? Check! . . . . . 6. Sex Cards?....
  15. Whether it's about the CIA, Illuminati and Skulls&Bones or not, i am getting a nice Deus Ex-wibe here.
  16. Spoiler!
  17. We take it one day, one day at a time. We're close to 1000-day anniversary now!
  18. Oh, i forgot one thing that nagged me about the ending: I never got to see the old gang o' Witchers after the prologue. Maybe i had too high hopes on meeting them again and defending a fortress (or attack it ), or some sort meeting, where there would've been some time for reflection of everything that's happened. As an example, there were several times in the journal that went in the vein of "...when i meet them again...", such as Berengar's quest, indicating that there would be a gathering in the near future. Maybe they forgot all about when they realized that they had to release it.
  19. Fixed In all seriousness, having a mid-rage computer and playing only the tutorial level on low settings, would not only leave one unimpressed, but also annoyed by the whole lagginess and mediocre graphics. The game didn't manage to grab me on until late CH1 - beginning of CH2. Mid-rage computer? Are you spying on me? I played into Chap1 I think, where I had some brawl fight, escorted some woman back to mommy and pappy (in return I got some hardcore-sex at the mill) and stumbled over some odd looking meat. Well, the thing is just....every NPC makes such a sad, disinterested impression. Sure, there's poverty and prolly some plague, but the game just lacks the drive and excitement from a MOTB. The world feels rather oversized too, and traveling is just boring. I just saved some dwarfs arse on the way, and killed some demon doggies there. Is it just that I lost my hardcore edge? Whatever.... Maybe at some later point in time I go back and give it a real chance. But not now. What I like so far is the interface, and the combat is astoundingly fun too. Not to mention that sorcerer in the Tutorial...what a woman! Ah, you came further than i thought If you don't like the bleak atmosphere, then maybe The Witcher isn't exactly our cup of tea after all. The dark and gritty atmosphere was the very drive that intruiged me to continue playing.
  20. I finished ot last week. I have already praised the game for almost everything, so i will do the 'bad' parts instead. - The story by itself wasn't spectacular, but it manages to deliver at times (Way better than Mass Effect). - Sometimes animations and dialogue seems to be out-of-place. - The general productionvalues aren't of Bioware standard (on the other hand, which RPG has?). It shined on every other part, IMO. P.S. C&C and "lesser of two evils" was forced? I know that it is possible to play as neutral, no matter what Yavinn or Siefried says. I let them bleed each other out in the end instead. Few RPG's do this.

  22. That was really underwhelming. Did the Dungeon Siege series sell enough to warrant a this kind of game?
  23. That just sounds stupid.
  24. Darker than black started slowly and became Cowboy Bebop-awesome until episode 19 or so (when a certain character is introduced), and finally turned into sour grape in the very end. Sad really. Currently watching Eureka 7 (up to episode 22 at the moment), and it seems to be fairly ok, aside from the notion of 14-year olds are better in handling mechas than adults.
  25. 2 PCB's? And the suggested performance increase does not justify it either. The 8800GT or 3850HD (with crossfire) is the way to go at the moment.
