  1. - For my loved one, if i go before her. - To bid everyone a final farewell.
  2. We all know that Bill Hicks was one of the greatest, but his awesomeness needs it's own thread
  3. I am starting to find this thread interesting. Now, all of those that: 1)...find McDonalds to be junkfood, and should only be treated as such. Meaning that it is something you eat while you are in a hurry, maybe once a month, or even less. No need to include it as a diet. Please choose this option and state nationality. 2)...find McDonalds to like any other food out there. It should be taken in moderation, and you might eat it more than once a month. Could be included as a part of your diet, as in something that you eat normally. Please choose this option and state nationality. Prove my generalization wrong, people
  4. When someone is considered by the public and by the comics themselves as one of the most influencial and legendary stand-up comedian of all time, then you better have an indepth and analytical reason on to why you don't like him. Someone mentioned Hedberg, while i don't find his jokes to be as profound as Carlin or Hicks, i do see a sense of style of delivery that resembles Prior, so i understand why people would prefer him against the "angry dude". The whole "i don't like angry comedians that try to tell us on how to think"-schtick just sounds defensive without any basis (IMO). There's fun in Candy and Farley, they did have a great sense in playing awkward characters which were funny by being what they were. But they weren't stand-up comedians! As for David Attell, i couldn't even find what exactly was funny about him. There weren't any funny characterics like Prior, no stories that were funny by themselves like Cosby would do, and certainly no insight like Carlin or Hicks. It just felt so tame, without any real joke coming along. Since i failed to understand it completely, i just have to agree to disagree with you
  5. So, you're comparing the efforts of a special effect artist to a comedian? That was unexpected. Come on, try harder people. So far, i have only heard that "he wasn't funny" or that "he was too angry", or like the one mentioned above. I am expecting examples of greater comedians instead, with a greater insight, timing, and delivery.
  6. Dude, that's like saying that Michelangelo, Beethoven or Goethe were overrated. Please elaborate and come with better ones
  7. Bleh, McDonalds and similars are serving junkfood. All these "Look how little calories/fat/salt they contain to comparable choices"-junk is just that, junk. Red meat, milk, potatoes, chicken, fish, fruits and vegetables (prepared by yourself) and some exercise and you'll be fine.
  8. Yeah, and that too
  9. Oh, the humanity.
  10. George Carlin dies at the age of 71. Well, ****, ****, ****, ****, **********, ************, and ****, the guy kicked the bucked. The last one of my holy trinity has gone(Carlin, Hicks and Pryor), and has left humanity with an empty void that will never be filled, leaving the torch of enlightnment to the very young Doug Stanhope. An Eulogy: - The famous seven words - Children - Environmentalism - Pro-life is Anti-Woman - Rape CAN be funny - Religion - Some people are just stupid - Voting? And he saved the most important one for his last performance: It's bad for Ya!(2008), namely Thank you, and "Joe Bless".
  11. I'm busy with Thesis-stuff atm, i need to get it done before midsummer partying starts here, so hopefully i will give an answer later tonight.
  12. Sure you are. Fatty, fat, fat, fat
  13. Ah, if it's a question of philosophy, then i choose Voltaire (Chaos) and maybe Spinoza (The golden route, a bit unspecified). Rather face the difficulties with living an a more open and maybe caotic society, than one that chooses to control itself.
  14. - Peter Fleischer, Google's global privacy counsel. More info here. And in english this time!
  15. The difference is that the US and Britain deny that such a thing even exists, while the swedish counterpart was voted through in the open by the Swedish parliament.
  16. This has to be the vet dream of all the hawks in Washington, and ironically it has been approved in a country that hasn't been in war for the last 250 years. So peaceloving and neutral, that the military gets the authority snoop and record every.single.electronic.signal., including VoIP, E-mail, Phonecalls, Textmessages, Fax, and of course, TCP/IP, that goes outside the Swedish borders. The Swedish parliament approved the new law with the votes of 143-138. "FRA", as the new system is called, proudly puts Sweden as the country with the lowest respect for it's private citizens integrity in the EU, according to Privacy International. None to worry Romania and Bulgaria, your countries would not even dream of having that kind of power. Since Sweden now falls out of European standards of respect of privacy, it now has to look elsewhere, and has found partnership with the proud nation of South Africa. Link (in finnish only). Link (in swedish only). The system that the military will use can be found at the Top 500 list of the most powerful clusters in the world, listed as the 11th most powerful, not too shabby with 13728 cores and a max rate of 102.80 TFlops, is it?
  17. Ditto that. I'm afraid I find that cartoon bloody offensive. The man was tortured so badly he's permanently lost movement in his arms. Show a bit of common decency. Phah, every newspaper (atleast where i live) have similar cartoons on respective candidates, local and for presidential elections. And since when has decency been a paragorn in politics of this level. I hope that i didn't distract you from reading it, the guy follows the election candidates from a grassroot level, checking them out at almost every public meeting. Do you find this one offensive as well?
  18. Considering your degree, i can't help wondering if this thread isn't an open job application in disguise Still, congratulations!
  19. Frankie Laine should have a recording of the very same song. Simply called "Rain Rain Rain". Like "Whiskey in the Jar", it is a song with an unknown past, evidently popular at campfires
  20. Then who of these YouT00bians are you referring to? Who here has claimed that the republicans wants to go back to slavery. Who hasn't raised the question that Obama's message of hope might also be his Damocles-sword? Here's a suggestion: Compare the promises of which Bush jr had in 1999/2000, and how many of them went through and how many dissappeared as "empty rhetoric". Do the same with Clinton and Bush Sr. What has changed? And more importantly, what HASN'T changed in terms of policy and govermental power. These three presidents all had different backgrounds, different personal philosophies and manners. What did they change? What did they not? How much is Status Quo since Reagan, and if those policies, practicies and laws that still were, then go further back.
  21. ^Who are you referring to really? Are you maybe a bot that posts automatic answers to every board? Your writing is just filled with the very same empty rhetoric that you are propagating against yourself. Here's an interesting article on the tactics that might be used in the following months. "Either you are, or you aren't", i see some truth in what people percieve in Obama and McCain in that statement.
  22. It is actually amazing on how Van Basten can create such an effective team without resorting to the big names. Bravo!
  23. Which might be odd, you know, if you consider how rich several Arab states are. Unless, you know, they don't particularly like the Palestinians or want to help them. And that angle is one I got from someone who grew up as an Arab, and therefore is an infallible source. It is no secret that the Palestinians are used by the arabs as pawns in their game of chess with the Israelis.
  24. I think that i'll skip the 2xx-generation of nVidia cards. How's the next generation AMD-Ati cards doing?
