  1. I hope that it isn't as awkward as this:
  2. uh? Nevermind, i checked her on imdb.
  3. Supporting any of those two middle eastern countries is like deciding on who to cheer for in between two sucky teams in a sport that you don't care for one bit. Can't they just both accept drugs, rock n' roll and a lot of sex?
  4. I just bought Dragon Age, but i wonder if i will ever bother to persue the gay romance. Or any romance for that matter. Most likely i will just stumble upon it when i am not paying attention too much to the dialogue.
  5. Thanks everyone. Based on the information provided, i can not tell if there has been a game based on african folklore.
  6. Kaftan is on the right track. Bullblown "manly" homo-erotic gayness for teh win. The only rpg in this decade that didn't have silly romances was The Witcher. Instead, it was straight to the point: "Wanna mess around?" "Sure babe". The only RPG that tried to add a more serious tone ever was PS:T.
  7. You mean that there is a true "Dark" Fantasy RPG out there? Just kidding, but what would it be about? What are these folklores exactly? I mean, in the western hemisphere, we have: - Knights, mages and rogues. Humans, dragons, elfs and dwarfs. In the eastern hemisphere, we have: - Samurais, ninjas and martial artists. Humans, dragons, spirits and gods taken the shape of animals. What would the african equivalent be?
  8. Damn straight. I have numerous of times ranted and raved on this forum on how bad Twilight was, and after watching Spooney's review, i feel no need to watch the new one in the near future. Except maybe when high on acid or weed.
  9. This is the first time that i have heard that scientists are pinko-leftists. I must've attended a different university. What the scientists themselves think in this is really of no consequence, since the peer-review will filter out the bad seeds in the long run. What those in power think (politicians, industrialists) is of more importance and since they are the ones manipulating the official agenda, both for egoistic and altruistic reasons.
  10. Lets streamline it a bit, shall we? 1) I never claimed you to be a federalist or even pro-EU in any way. That assumption is only in your head. 2) I said it very clearly. It doesn't matter what the current consensus among the politicians are before, at the moment or in the future. The system is inheritly wrong, and having someone belonging to the nobility at this position is the cherry on the top. 3) I mentioned Voltaire in the relation of the founding fathers of the united states of america were greatly influenced by him.
  11. Has anyone yet mentioned how Hitler and the Nazis exploited the german sense of duty to its fullest? Has anyone here heard of the prussian culture that had existed in the wehrmacht prior to the nazis? No one? Well, it seems like some of you completely fail at understanding that. And seperating the wehrmacht from the Waffen-SS, and especially the Einsatztruppen. It makes you guys look a bit...dumb, the least. Also, while we're at it, what is your view on all those N*****S in Compton, LA? should they all be thrown in jail/shot? I mean, it is a breeding ground for all those gangs, and the inhabitants let them roam free without repercussion. Aren't they really all gangmembers waiting to shoot people?
  12. What are you? Fox News? Just asking fair and balanced questions? Just suggesting, you know. See how inane that comment really is? Lord or lady or how they achieved it doesn't matter. It is something reserved for the silly people of the silly islands with their awesome sense of comedy. Keep out of cross-european politics. Yeah really. A country even was founded upon that. Since when does that make it just and right? That's right, it doesn't. Yeah, but that wasn't the point here, was it?
  13. Nah, the mutants would probably be rockstars if anything. They would like Penn & Teller have shows in Las Vegas, showing off tricks and whatnot. The guy who can read minds will have one of the funniest talk shows ever. Except for those with powers like Doctor Manhattan, but they would problably migrate to become gods of something in other parts of the universe. Of course some of them would be "bad" as in breaking laws and killing people. But the reality show "Hardliners: Extreme measures", featuring several mutants with awesome powers like casting fire from their hands or super-strength, as an elite team that are only dispatched on the worst of the worst, will take care of that.
  14. Still playing KotOR 2 with the restored content mod installed.
  15. The people who cry out at specific undemocratic decisions would not make them if given the choice? No... it's almost as though they don't want these things done at all... and represent the popular will... No country can honestly call itself democratic unless it has functional voter recall anyway, so I don't see what the point of discussing how democratic these guys are or are not is. I find it hypocritical to criticise a system for being undemocratic if you don't actually want it to be democratic but just have it cease exist or reduced to irrelevance. Either you want the EU more democratic or you want your sovereignty back. Can't have it both ways. And as for representing popular will, in England maybe. In contrast european federalism is the dominant opinion in Belgium. But most europeans are apathic to the EU. Now that i have seen some articles about Van Rompuy in some british tabloids the fervor of british euroscepticism makes more sense now. Apparently they get away with grotesque and ridiculous lies and so distort people's visions of the EU. The EU should only be about: 1) Free economy with a common currency. 2) Human rights enforcable by the european court. 3) The only governing body should be the european parliament, voted in through referendum in each member countries. However, soverignity of the member states comes first as long as they doesn't breach the human rights charter at european court. 4) Free information between law enforcements in member countries. Everything else is BS and bureaucratic fluff. Get rid of it. They do not represent the interest of the citizens, they only represent the interests of the imbecilles that whishes to play realpolitik with usa, russia, india and china. About the british scepticism, i take that you mean this?
  16. I think that it strange that despite the dutch referendum saying no to the Lissabon treay, then the french, then the irish, who somehow later change their minds, and with the rest of us having nothing to say about it, suddenly having a president and a foreign minister representing them all. If anything, they should resign.
  17. Some further info about this president of ours (translated from swedish): The swedish prime minister also said that Van Rompuy is the "voice of all europeans". ....are we now living in a Douglas Adams novel?
  18. This is how they look like (i dunno if you can see this outside finland though) The caption says: "These are the new leaders of the EU"
  19. I rephrase it better then: "The Supreme Court takes judicial decisions according to what power the constitution lets them and uses it as a framework for its decisions" Better? Anyhoo, this is just silly, and dumb.
  20. The EU suddenly has a President, did i just miss a referendum....no wait i didn't. Some other guys just decided it. It feels like i am part of a very silly, silly...silly monty python scetch. I mean, even the newly "elected" Foreign minister is a british baroness for pete's sake. Nobility at the very top of power, doesn't that ring some serious alarmbells among countries that do not have a monarchy, especially among the french? Ok, they have almost zero executive power, but still, it is like the most self-evident truth has zinged the heads of the EU-countries: Since the friggin french revolution, since the times of Voltaire, people have taken for granted that no power should be without representation. This isn't the EU any more, it is the first step to a poor mans version of the old USSR, a system of bureaucracy, govern by imbeciles that aren't harmful, just silly and incompetent. You guys in the US have it good, really good. You have clear separation of power, different branches in the house of congress. A president elected in a direct referendum, and a supreme court that adheres to constitution. We have none of that. Yes, you americans may point and laugh
  21. numberman's avatar + post. Jesuuus
  22. I would probably be Gromnir. Thinking and talking in prose sounds interesting enough, and he is a lawyer to boot
  23. That wouldn't actually be a stupid idea. Yes, I am serious about this, it has some potential, if done correctly. Facebook is blocked at my workingplace though.
  24. Illuminator: Most of your answers didn't even say anything. Just random rabble that has no merit. However, 1) I asked about the poll questions, since every man has an opinion about everything without actively participating in the democratic process. 2) Your comments about metal-heads and your ideal society sealed the deal. Why would you want to forbid people to do what they want as long as they are not hurting anyone else? We are simply back to where we started; you simply have no moral higher ground to stand upon. Come back when Turkey and/or the middle east stands as the paragons of: - Religious freedom - Human rights - Freedom of press - Freedom of speech - Social progression Those factors are very important, since they greatly contribute the best of the human mind: - Philosophy - Science - Music - Art - Technology Out of curiosity, what do you think of modern non-western and non-christian countries like Japan and South Korea? Are they behind Turkey as well?
  25. I am serious about Turkey being left behind in terms of western standards of a modern society. Did i ever mention the merits of the Roman senate or Swedish Landtag? No? Nor should you, that is just dead people's garbage that has no point in this. Do you see greeks talking how great it was during the ottoman empire? bulgarians? or jews? I do not think so. No worries, I was there in the spring. Thus, you couldn't swim in the ocean, way too cold. I didn't even spend one single day at the beach. Instead, we went to a local school, traveled to nearby villages, eat where the turks themselves eat (great kebabs, btw), went to waveries where they made persian mats and goldsmiths (not stores, i am talking about those gated places with armed guards), visited old roman/greek ruins and whatnot. Culture shock: You had to barter everything that wasn't in a supermarket. I never said anything about clonic behaviour, you do understand the differences between culture and clones? right? Because that was what i was referring to. "Christ Crusader", sheesh where the hell have you been in the western world? Really? As you should know, religion is a very personal subject in europe and not something you start as an ice-breaker to an unknown foreigner. I call BS on that one. Since you do not understand what a self-hating leftists is, then you have no understanding on the left in Europe. It has little to do on how much is spent on the public sector. Blair openly wanted Labour to move to the right, and you should know that.
