  1. So, since the delay is more than a couple months, i can almost bet that there will be some severe design changes. Lets try out some ideas now, shall we? - You can now play as "Michelle" Thorton. - Instead of being "bad" at aiming, martial arts and tech at level 1, you will now start as jack-of-all-trades and unlock "more cool" animations as you progress instead. - The placeholder characters for Michael and Michelle Thorton will have a more "comic book"-like look. Think big muscles, incredible jawlines, big boobs and hair that defies gravity. - The story will be less morally "grey" than before. You are the good guy, working on the good side, period. - You can now have a party consisting of a mindless tank, an "aggressive" woman with daddy-issues, a nerd, a female nerd, a texan demolitions-guy that "just wants to blow s**t up" and a japanese martial artist. - You can no longer strike deals with terrorists, you can only turn them in, kill them bourne-style, or torture them and then kill them Bauer-style. Any more takers?
  2. I still haven't played it My computer is still unpacked due to my recent move.
  3. Since april 2005
  4. Meh, don't care really.
  5. Hah, i haven't even had the time to download the mod yet, but they have already released their first patch. Keep up the good work, fellas!
  6. Delayed another year or so? In that case, i'll get it by then.
  7. I went to see Doug Stanhope. The stand-up started a bit stale, but as he drank, it got a lot better. He was a really nice guy as well, he shook my hand as i thanked him for a great show after the set.
  8. As a reference, Hong Kong, deemed as the most free economy by the index of economic freedom for 15 years in a row has both public and private health care and public and private higher education as well.
  9. As long as they do not follow the "ancient wise beings that of some dubious reason fail to understand on how to procreate"-schtick, then i'm cool with it.
  10. The Witcher was to RPGs like Conan the Barbarian was to movies; the nay-sayers highpoint the shortcomings that in reality was over whelmed by its strengths. Too much sex and violence? Well too bad, Geralt, like Conan, is an alpha male that mounts women and kill just about everyone else. Dull world? I call it different and refreshing. Weird story? Good enough for me. Besides, i had too much fun time role-playing as mr. awesome. The Witcher was the best thing in 2007 along with Mask of the Betrayer. As for the 'leaked' Witcher 2 video: - Dragons? Personally, they do not really fit the world that the predecessor showcased. - Voiceacting was "huuuuuurgh". Even though it is only temporary, i do hope that the final version ships with option to have english subtitles with polish audio. - Too glittery at places. For example: Geralts hair - The final attack quick-time events do not need "blood on the camera" shot. It will get really distracting after a while. - The boss-quick-time events are nice with the dialogue going on. But they need to be streamlined in order not to disrupt the flow of combat too much. - The physics were very nice. - The reactivity of world was nice as well, albeit i think that they have to thread this territory lightly. Remember the radiant AI in Oblivion. - The scale of the world and day-night cycles were very nice. Are CD Project without a publisher despite selling 1.2 million copies of the first game? Did the previous one frown upon their re-releases?
  11. You know very good i was talking about computer/console games... and they are definately not older than human species doesn't matter what you were talking 'bout. games has been 'round probable back before cro magnon, and games ain't gotten the benefit of doubt as an art form in all that time. makes harder for computer/console games to somehow change. HA! Good Fun! All right, then. Backgammon: is it art? no. neither is chess or monopoly or poker or any other game we can think of at the moment. maybe some folks consider chess an art, but not most folks. computer games can combine elements o' film and literature, but they is still viewed as games. no matter how good the game there is gonna be some resistance to use o' the art label. HA! Good Fun! Seems like the barrier on what keeps games as 'games' and not art is that, compared to music and movies, games require input or an action from someone else than the artist(see what i did there? hur-hur) to fully unravel the creation itself. That is not required for a painting, an architecture, a book, a set of music or a movie. A game may have a splendid soundtrack, excellent story, magnificent dialogue and unbelievable art-design, where all of these individual components may be considered as art. However, they are still layers of the core itself: game that has a set of rules and that requires the interaction of one or several players to be experienced. I do not agree with that notion, but i think that it is there where the difference lies for many.
  12. ...and what's the status now?
  13. The majority of Americans could not afford it. The last time I had health care, I paid $300 a month and that was with my employer sucking up about 60% of the bill. I doubt the price would be the same since, 1) Everybody has to have an insurance, and 2) There are laws on how much (in percentage) an healthcare insurance would be compared to the your disposable income.
  14. Sean Connery was "the man"!
  15. 'Watchmen'-reference, yay!
  16. 1) you is dreaming if you believe that ps:t will ever be considered an artistic masterpiece = starry night. ... really. am not even gonna argue this. ps:t is our fave game, but if you thinks ps:t ever gets cred as genuine art from some significant portion o' public and academia, then you is deluded. HA! Good Fun! To be fair, no videogame has managed something of that magnitude yet.
  17. Yeah, I know that too. As I understand it, your dreams of doggy romance will never be fulfilled as Dog comes from a traditional family who'd never forgive him if he went cross-species. However, in a certain brothel, there awaits a canine companion who
  18. This explains the motivation for every single thing he said. I would like to hear him trying to do a motivational speech to the developers. "Thank you for showing up this morning. The coffee we provided is terrible, but the bear claws are pretty good. Feel free to grab a pastry on the way out. This pep talk isn't going to take very long, so the bad coffee should still be warm and the boston cr
  19. Bleh, you guys need some example to prove Torment's greatness, i'll start by Characters
  20. I don't know sure, but probably not since they are not mentioned as far as i can tell.
  21. As long as the game is not designed around the player having to know past events in the books, then it does not matter much to me.
  22. Another poor soul has been shown the light, all is well. My life now has meaning. Although I won't lie: I would very much appreciate better graphics, maybe a mod will do. - High-resolution mod for characters - High-resolution mod for levels You're welcome!
