  1. Mel Gibson reminds me of half of the older men that i have met.

Yes, that is the one. My argument is that i liked the aesthetic flow of how the ball went. A strike that was beautiful in my eyes. Technical proficiency or stratetegic positioning is of little use for me on how i evaluate a beautiful goal. Since my reasoning is based completely out of a subjective observation, which can not be objectively evaluated, i can not do anything other than disagree. Something like that.

Nah, i disagree. Forlan's was the best one.

Best game of the tournament a long with the best goal of the tournament (Forlan), i didn't even care who won in the end, it was simply a bliss to watch.
  5. FFS, number three sounds really, really awful and simplistic. -"This is Johnny. Look at all the colors Johnny can talk. Red is for being angry. Blue is for being sad. Pink is for..."
  6. I know that i might be too optimistic, but according to that Game Informer article, Mickey Hawke will start his adventure in the kingdom of citystates called the Free Marches. Will they be like renaissance Italy with citystates like Bologna, Florence and Venice? Clever intruiges among the elite like the house of Borgia? Polical war-games like Macchiavelli's The Prince? Perhaps too optimistic?

  8. So, the main PC is not a gray warden this time?
  9. Because refusing to back up an assertion and instead demanding that the questioner prove a negative is such a totally legitimate debating tactic! Because the original assertion has no tangible data to work on. "More brilliance", how do you measure that? But i would bet that there are some drugs that contains inhibitors for sending and recieving electrical inpulses to wherever our center for abstract thinking is in our brain Just like alcohol seems to work with some people, and not so well with others. Metallica's 4 first records were recorded while the whole band was drunk as hell + two of them high on cocaine. Their later albums were recorded while them being sober. Which records were the better ones? Of course, other people just die or become insane instead. Livin' the life.
  10. I wouldn't say that drugs = brilliance, but i would rather turn it around and say: "Prove me that mind-altering drugs hinders creative thinking".
  11. I've done it with alcohol in computer science. Everything worked correctly, but when i tried to analyze my source code, couldn't understand one bit of it.

Germany only had 2 shots against the goal in the entire match, go figure.

  14. I can think of the only reason to ban marijuana would be that people would simply stop taking life seriously if it was legal.

I think he only mentioned Uruguay when there was the "assisted dive" in the penalty box. Of course, Robben (iirc) had an even clearer dive a few minutes later and he didn't say anything for 20 seconds, and then carried on from what was going on. He did? I've must've missed that In any case, i am going to watch tonight's game on the swedish channel (SVT 1 or 2) instead. Atleast the commentator is going to give neither team any praise since Sweden is not playing in this tournament

So, why dont you go ahead and crack a window? Our bigger panorama windows are double-sided, and in some cases, even triple-sided, that are locked tight with 4 locks per side. You have to open each lock a with hexagonal turn-key, 4 per window, so by the time you have opened them, you are already sweating more than before. We do have 4 or 5 smaller windows that you can open without a lock, but they are so small that the cats barely fit through, so there's little to none air intake. I just sit on the balcony instead during the day. Too bad though our balcony is facing the sunset, which is the worst time for us. Did i mention that the sun goes up at 3:30 AM and goes down 11:50 PM around here?

I am sweating like a pig at the moment, eventhough it is a mere 20 C now outside at 2 in the morning. It's 28 here in my apartment, and it is going to stay that way for a long time, since all the buildings here are built stop any heat from escaping to the outside

The finnish commentator was awesome. At times, i forgot that Uruguay was even in the match, since the he was only talking about Holland playing against "the other team".
  19. He even has flames on his drums. I have seen a lot of bands through the years, but that is a first

  21. And those societies are so much better off for it, amirite? Here's a thought: many of the economic systems that the Europeans planted in Africa simply do not work in that environment. That's not a good thing, Please elaborate.
