As in, non-story related stuff. Keep it within reason, please. Any mention of saberwhips is punishable by castration. Example: - I would add some kind of mechanic to make the switch between Light Side and Dark Side more believeable. By the time I was on the Temple with Bastila my first time through, any 'temptation' offered by the Dark Side was pretty thoroughly destroyed by my preponderence of Light Side powers. What's the temptation of effectively destroying your own set of powers? To make up for this, when a Light Side character slips far enough into the Dark Side, I would offer some system of force power trading; i.e. two levels of a Light Side power initially picked can be converted into one level of a Dark Side power, or vice versa. Perhaps even an equal trade, but that might cause balance issues. Any you can think of?

He used a special shield called the Plot Device. He then used that same device to track you down on the first planet you finished. This same device was also handy for identifying you as Revan, giving him Carth's name if Carth wasn't in your party at the confrontation with Davik, and finally convincing Saul to stick his neck out and risk hiring him despite your complete and total stomping of him on Taris.

KOTOR and KOTOR II are 'epics'; they focus on grand, sweeping actions and events. I don't want to eat, nor do I want to sleep, nor do I want to defecate....especially given the lack of a bathroom on the Ebon Hawk.

I try to be open-minded, but I don't know if I would be able to hold my lunch at a Human-Wookie relationship.

Russia is a mixed bag. On the one hand, it's an interesting country with a fascinating past (Me = Russophile History buff) which has more than once had a tremendous impact on the course of world history. On the other hand, it's probably one of the single most depressing countries on the planet. Seems like it's never a good time to be born a Russian; at all points in history, one looks back and sees either totally incompetent leaders running the country into the ground or ruthless, vicious tyrants slaughtering people by the tens of thousands/millions.....sometimes both at once. Even today, with Russia ostensibly a Democracy, the country is known in the West primarily for widespread government corruption, massive pollution left over from the Communist era, and the Russian Mafia. One can only hope the 21st century is kinder to Russia than the 20th was.

Heh. When I first saw her, I thought she was a human who was suffering from the extreme effects of the Dark Side (pale skin, distorted features, etc.) My first thought was 'God DAMN the Dark Side makes you ugly!' P.S. The whole cross-species relationship thing kinda freaks me out, too. Is that even legal in the Star Wars Galaxy?

Actually, another reason I was so certain Revan was male was because Canderous openly calls Revan 'he.' They edited the text to remove all masculine identifiers, but the voice-over still quite clearly refers to Revan as 'he' several times in a row.

My enjoyment of the game will not be reduced if they officially name the Masked Sith Guy and give some very sparse background detail. And the name Atris has been bounced around for months now. Let's get an official description to go along with it, dammit!

I agree, but having a Lesbian romance (at least, one that doesn't require you to jump through ten dozen hoops just to get a highly unsatisfactory conclusion) would get the fundies up in arms. For a game like Fallout 2, which seems to have been designed from top to bottom as a gigantic middle finger to those complaining about 'mature content' in games, that wouldn't be a problem. But with Star Wars, I don't think Lucasarts would tolerate it.

They should've named him/her Darth Pat.

Aside from Akari's (much appreciated) Weekend Programmer threads, everything seems very, very quiet. No new characters, no new feature reports, no previews, nothing! Are they simply waiting for the hype around NWN2 to die down a little, worried that any new KOTOR II info will be lost in the confusion and focus on the new game? I don't know, but for the past while, we've been having to scrape whatever ragged strands of meat we can find off the bones of information tossed to us long ago. Another bone would be much appreciated.

He was also a prime example of 'Chaotic Stupid.' I can't imagine a guy like that running the local McDonald's, much less an army of millions of soldiers and sailors.

I wouldn't put it that way, but I get your point. Consider it this way: look at world history. Look at the number of despots, mass murderers, tyrants, vicious nasty thugs and conquerors. Now, out of this sordid bunch, how many are female? I honestly think it's much more of a male characteristic to want to kill people and burn things.

When I played the first time, and found out I was Revan, my immediate first thought was, 'I wonder how they'll make sense of this if I play a female?' When I played as a female, I felt profound disappointment that no one was saying 'WHAT!? Revan was a WOMAN!?!' when on the Ebon Hawk after the Leviathan. The game heavily implies Revan is male....most notably in calling him 'Dark LORD of the Sith.' I would think 'Dark LADY of the Sith' would be more appropriate if Revan were female, but of course that would have been a dead giveaway. Also, far more is put into the Bastila connection than into the Carth connection. As well, without the 'romance' going, the Bastila confrontation on the Star Forge isn't anywhere near as effective, and changes from a moment of Darth Vader-like redemption to just another example of Bioware never quite grasping that the Dark Side isn't something you can switch in and out of at the drop of a hat. Most importantly of all: 'Revan' just doesn't sound like a woman's name.

He's dead, Jim. He also happened to be a completely throw-away villain using the exact same character model and voice as god only knows how many other Sith in the game.

Can you really blame them? "Oh, I have a great idea for a character! Let's give him light skin, dark hair and dark eyes!" Variety is the spice of life, and there's really only so many ways you can draw the ethnically Japanese....

You know, it's funny: I hadn't thought about it before, but most of KOTOR's villains really kinda sucked. I went with the masked Sith guy, just 'cause he looks coolest. I wish I could've picked Darth Revan, though.

Yep. Pathetic, iddnit? Posted on July 14th, too. Nearly a month passes by and we're still chatting about the Bruce Lee Sith guy. We need information. Something, anything.

Added with the latest patch, though as nightcleaver says it sucks. It looks really unnatural, does absolutely nothing for you except slow you down, and you have to hold down a button to keep it going.
