More importantly, she could identify who he/she really was. That would be a bad thing.

Revan's mother didn't die. Revan's alterego's mother died. It would be rather foolish to leave memories of Revan's actual mother if she were alive.

I would much prefer that specific posts be cut out instead of the whole thread being closed down. People need to vent, and if they aren't allowed to do so because a few people screwed up the one thread where it's allowed the damage will only worsen. -
Lightsaber Stances YOU want to see

Not too much....but they have a nasty habit of making plotlines and characters which, if thought about too hard, cause your brain to implode from all the inconsistencies. -

THE last refuge? Nope. ONE OF THE last refuges? Yep. -
Lightsaber Stances YOU want to see

Makes you wonder what happened to them. The only one I remember clearly other than Bastila was a Twi'lek with a violet lightsaber. I would say it was because her Battle Meditation allowed the capture attempt to happen in the first place....but that wouldn't explain why she was leading the attack, given her inexperience. Let's be brutally honest. She led the attack for the same reason that Khalid and Jaheria, veteran adventurers and Harpers, show up in Baldur's Gate at level 2; sometimes gameplay and plotline kinda contradict each other. Best not to put too much thought into it, in other words. It's Bioware, and it ain't worth the headache. -

It'll also hurt Obsidian, which is, like it or not, one of the last refuges of CRPGs. I'm pissed as well, but not so pissed that I'm going to repay the months of hard work of the Developers by pirating a copy of their game just to spite their Publisher. -

They would've been pulling Bastila chunks out of the floorboards of Revan's flagship for months afterwards. -

Easily the Revan Scorpion stance. When you saw that, you could tell pretty quickly that he wasn't worried in the least by Bastila's pathetic little band. If Malak hadn't stepped in, it would have been a slaughter. -
Questions to Dev's - take 3
Ivan the Terrible replied to Hydrogen's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
Not to put words in the mouths of the Developers, but consider the possible outcomes of the Uthar-Yuthura feud: Betray Yuthura, then kill Uthar - Yuthura dies Betray Uthar, then kill Yuthura - Yuthura dies Betray Yuthura, spare Uthar- Yuthura dies Betray Uthar, spare Yuthura, leave at Dark Side - Yuthura lives, but is still with Sith Betray Uthar, spare Yuthura, turn to Light Side before Leviathan - Yuthura lives at first, then probably dies in the Sith attack on Dantooine Betray Uthar, spare Yuthura, turn to Light Side after Leviathan - Yuthura lives and goes in search of the Jedi; still very possible she dies in the purge pre-saged in what we know of KOTOR II Betray them both - Yuthura dies In six out of seven of these outcomes, Yuthura is either dead, likely to be dead, or still a Sith. In other words, in most people's games, I would wager she ended up a corpse. She's unlikely to make a return. -

Same. I didn't even pay attention to KOTOR until it came out on PC, so I went into it with absolutely no knowledge of the plotline. This time around, with me a 'regular' at the official KOTOR II message board, will not be as easy unless I just stop coming here....which I guess I'll have to do come December. -

Thanks, Akari, appreciate the explanation. Again, despite a few overzealous folks around here, I doubt most people are blaming you or the other Developers (personally, I blame sloppy marketting on the part of LucasArts), so don't let it bug you. Alas, however, I and (I'll wager) many other PC gamers will still be vanishing from these forums come the X-Box release to preserve ourselves from spoilers. -

I don't blame Obsidian, nor any of the Developers who have been helpful around here answering questions and such. I don't think it's their fault (though if we find out that work on the X-Box version has been pushed at the expense of the PC version without telling us long before not to expect a simultaneous release, that will irk me more than a bit.) Nor am I honestly all that concerned that the PC version will be coming out later than the X-Box version. If this had been said from the start, it would have annoyed people, including myself, but I think most would have accepted it after a bit of griping. I'm a dedicated PC gamer, but I'm not so impatient that two months is a forbidding barrier which would destroy my enthusiasm for the game. The people saying 'It's only two months!', however, are missing the point. By a wide margin. One of the biggest selling points of this game was that it was supposed to be released simultaneously for both platforms, and they made a big deal about that. This time, there would be no preferential treatment, no X-Boxers hurling around spoilers and plot points while PCers were still waiting impatiently, avoiding spoilers or the forums altogether until they had their own version. Now, this has been reversed. How was it reversed? Not by a Developer apoligizing for misleading us, or through an official announcement; it was done through an EXCITING BREAKING NEWS REPORT from a gaming web site assuring X-Box gamers they wouldn't have to wait until February to play this fantastic new game! The sudden abandonment of their previous selling point wasn't even mentioned! Frankly, I think that's a REALLY shabby way to treat your customers. We haven't even gotten an explanation, for god's sakes. We're being treated like a 'sure thing' which can be lied to at will without apology or shame, and that is what angers me, not the delay. -

Heh. I would think that would be a given, seeing as how it takes place in the EU. -
Why did Revan go to Korriban?
Ivan the Terrible replied to KOTORFanactic's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
That's why I'm certain they won't make an appearance. Why pay tribute to something which a sizeable number of fans hate? It's the same reasoning which allows me to conclude with almost absolute certainty that there will be no nods to Jar-Jar Binks. -

Ivan the Terrible replied to KOTORFanactic's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
There will be no Yuuzhan Vong in KOTOR2. I haven't played it, I didn't write it, I don't know the storyline, I don't know the characters.... ....and yet I feel confident in being able to say there will be no Yuuzhan Vong in KOTOR2. Take me at my word. -
Black Isle, at least, was very different in that regard.

Why are you on these forums?

CRPG fanatic. There are too few of them released nowadays, so I shall fervently cling to the metaphorical tit of any company which is still making them. -
Heh. No. Think Darth Maul, that personality-less walking action-figure-in-waiting.
