Most games are designed for 'good guys', and are thus more fulfilling to play as a 'good guy.' I doubt KOTOR II will be an exception, and as such I will play my first time as Light Side.

Should Authors Write A KOTOR Novel?
Ivan the Terrible replied to Bastilla_Skywalker's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
Possibly, but something about the idea of making books out of movies and video games when there was no book to begin with makes me think the end product will be crap. The writer may not take it seriously, since he's simply retracing steps, or perhaps the publisher will be indifferent to who they hire, thinking the name alone is all they need to sell copies. Whatever the case, I avoid 'novelizations' like the plague, and judging by reviews in most cases I'm justified in that. -
Should Authors Write A KOTOR Novel?

Try the Planescape: Torment novelization, or any of the Baldur's Gate novelizations. It will enlighten you as to why novelizations of games aren't a good idea. -
That's not exactly what I would call 'defeating' him. If Vader hadn't stepped in, Luke would have been a Light Side corpse, and the Emperor would have shrugged and moved on; certainly not happy at the outcome, but really none the worse for it. The Emperor failed to turn Luke, but I'm thinking 'defeating a Sith Lord' involves something a little more important than inconveniencing him. Luke beat Vader. Vader beat the Emperor. Luke did not really defeat the Emperor.

He also screamed like a little girl. And if he beat the Emperor, it must have been in the EU, since he would've been roasted alive if Vader hadn't intervened in the movies.

No, but there certainly is something in the Lucas code. I think the closest the movies ever come to even suggesting sex is that Amidala will be pregnant in the third prequel. Beyond that, the Star Wars Galaxy seems to be a pretty damn sterile place.....

Confessions of an Associate Producer
Ivan the Terrible replied to John Morgan's topic in Developers' Corner
Makes sense. Thanks. Hmmm...just one more question. If you had to list the top three skills or attributes most important in a game designer, what would they be? -
Top 10 Sith of all time!
Ivan the Terrible replied to DSLuke's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
I hope to god these new Sith showed up from somewhere else. If they were so unmemorable that three generic Foot Clan Sith with generic Sith voices could top them as 'the best of the Dark Jedi who have sworn allegiance to me', as Malak says, then they must really suck. -
Top 10 Sith of all time!
Ivan the Terrible replied to DSLuke's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
That's assuming an awful lot. We still don't know where these three came from; they might have only shown up after Malak's death. And I hardly think they'll make these three weaker than Malak, given that by the end of the game we'll be stronger than Revan. Where's the fun in that? -
I can't picture Sion as a Sith Lord. I'm guessing he's a Marauder, with a possibility of Assassin given his actual role in the game....but the Sith Lord would seem to be the brains of an operation, and he appears to be the muscle, more intent on hunting Jedi than plotting schemes for galactic domination. So I'll say: Nihilis = Sith Lord, Sion = Sith Marauder, female Sith = Sith Assassin. The wallpaper can ram it.

Midichlorians never happened. -

Yep. And look how that turned out, at least in Malak's case. -

Top 10 Sith of all time!
Ivan the Terrible replied to DSLuke's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
You have that piss-poor excuse for a Sith Lord Ajunta Pall, creation of nothing more than a lazy Bioware designer who couldn't be bothered to look up an actual Sith Lord, and not Naga Sadow? Hmmm. Doesn't matter in any case. All of them failed before they took over the Galaxy except for Palpatine, even if his rule was brief. -
It doesn't matter. The Nameless One's story is finished. Over. Finito. Anything else tacked on would just dilute what came before. I want a game with the detail and imagination of Planescape: Torment's storyline without it being a direct sequel. If I get that, I will be happy.

Point of Kotor 2
Ivan the Terrible replied to GeneralCrimson's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
We'll know the answers to those questions in a few days. For now, though, the storyline has been kept pretty tightly under wraps. -

Plot question of the day: WHY TARIS!?
Ivan the Terrible replied to Ivan the Terrible's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
Excluding what Sarna says, it is possible. There was an obvious time lag between the Endar Spire and when you wake up in the apartment. Though I gather from what Carth says it was only a few days, which is problematic..... -

Does she say that? Damn. That sinks that theory.... -
Plot question of the day: WHY TARIS!?
Ivan the Terrible replied to Ivan the Terrible's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
So they claim....but I'm pretty sure they were lying. About not knowing about the Star Maps AND not knowing about the Star Forge. After all, why would the Jedi Order 'surely banish' Revan and Malak, as was mentioned by Malak in a flashback to the Star Map on Dantooine, if the Council knew nothing about the Star Map's existence? Besides, it becomes pretty clear during the whole 'revelation' scene that the council knew about the Star Maps and used Bastila's connection with you to find them. That's why they 'reprogrammed' Revan in the first place; to use his memories of the Star Maps to find them on their respective planets and chart a course to the Star Forge. -
Plot question of the day: WHY TARIS!?
Ivan the Terrible replied to Ivan the Terrible's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
Possible, but a bit of a stretch. Even if the Jedi Council was convinced it was 'the will of the Force' to send a lone frigate to a Sith occupied planet and apparently inevitable doom, I doubt the Republic would volunteer many troops for the mission. -
Plot question of the day: WHY TARIS!?
Ivan the Terrible replied to Ivan the Terrible's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
Then why does it say they were ambushed? Why was there only the Endar Spire in the system? And why didn't Bastila 'have a chance' to use her Battle Meditation? If the Republic was planning on taking Taris back, they -
Plot question of the day: WHY TARIS!?

A pity he never teaches you how to eat or use the bathroom. I'm guessing Revan was pretty uncomfortable by the end of the game. -
Plot question of the day: WHY TARIS!?
Ivan the Terrible replied to Ivan the Terrible's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
Yeah, I know, but it doesn't really answer the question. The 'Jedi Battle Fleet desperately trying to halt Malak's conquest of the galaxy' turns pretty damn quickly into a single Republic ship ambushed and completely unprepared to fight.
