  1. Nope. Some Force Powers are class-specific, at least according to IGN.
  2. http://www.rsmith.org.uk/frasier/multimedia/cheers_theme.mp3
  3. Poor bastard.
  4. That's a relief. The reviewer appears to be pretty tough on a lot of games; more than a few 5.0s and below. A 9.0+ thus means something. It's a pity she didn't talk more about what.
  5. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Heh. At least they didn't say, "and I was really disappointed at how Darth Nihilus didn't match up to the awesome power of Darth Bandon." EDIT: CURSE YOU, Muad'dib! You stole my top spot!
  6. I'm at once unsurprised and indifferent. It would have been nice if the level pacing had been better, but I rarely play RPGs for the 'challenge' anyway.
  7. and... Both at the bottom of the first page.
  8. If there were any game-ending bugs, I'm guessing IGN would have remarked upon them. As it stands, they mentioned nothing specifically, so I'm guessing the bugs consist mostly of minor annoyances rather than anything game-destroying. EDIT: Jesus, that's three pages in a row I've taken the top spot on. I'm a message board GOD!
  9. Well, I'm not sure about that. I think a review should base itself on what a reasonable standard is for the present day. After all, if a mainstream FPS was released nowadays using the old Unreal engine (but they never pretended they were going to use any other engine), the end result would still be an extremely graphically unimpressive game in comparison to Half-Life 2 or Doom 3, which needs to be remarked upon for potential buyers.
  10. Best explanation: it was written by two different reviewers who see things differently. My guess? The KOTOR II storyline won't be as 'epic', but will be better written and more philosophical. So some people will prefer the original, and others the sequel. Just like from Star Wars to Empire Strikes Back.
  11. OoooooOOOoohhh. Sounds like my kind of writing.
  12. That remark about the story being 'not quite as good' as the original is a bit disheartening, if the reviewer is correct. But the news about different Force powers based on class adds yet another factor in replayability.
  13. Seconded. More Dark Side points for anger and aggressive (as opposed to defensive) action would be nice.
  14. That's the one. Now I'm wondering if whatever designer came up with the fate of the Echani was inspired by that item description, or if it's just a freak coincidence....
  15. Well, when you put it that way.....
  16. Oh, come on. I can't be the only one to remember that obscure item description from Tatooine and link it to the idea of Revan subjugating the Echani? .... Can I?
  17. *shakes head in disbelief* Jesus, if I'm right, someone has done his homework. There's only about one mention of the Echani and Revan in KOTOR (namely, the Yusani's Brand description about Revan killing an Echani senator and Yusani confronting him before being squished into jelly by the Sith Lord, implying a move by the Sith against the Echani.) If the fate of the Echani was derived from enough research to get to that item description....well, I'm very, very impressed. Even I, a complete neurotic when it comes to finding out storylines, missed that the first few times I played.
  18. Eh. The video is nothing special; we've seen most of the effects in the original game. Not that it matters. I'm not buying it for the effects.
  19. True. But right now I'm looking for any excuse to get all excited.
  20. I'd remove the 'sweet' from that and just leave it at 'bitter.'
  21. If everyone at the Convention takes a bus trip to Kansas City, Missouri, I'll be there.
  22. Nah. If music doesn't sound at least vaguely classical (without words; chants, as in Darth Maul's theme, work), it doesn't fit with Star Wars.
  23. No. If KOTOR2 wins Game of the Year in something like a year of development while Half-Life 2 with some five years of pretty solid work is passed over, I'm guessing there will be mass suicides throughout Valve.
  24. I'd recommend playing LS first time through. Virtually every game is more coherent played as a 'good guy' than as a bad guy. Second time through is a different story.....
  25. You couldn't? I did. Dark Side Consular using Insanity, Force Choke/Kill, and that Death Storm thing that sucks away their life while healing yours. With that and 18+ Wisdom, a Lightsaber became a formality.
