  1. Depends on your definition of 'safe.' No nudity involved, if that's what you mean.
  2. It wasn't that it was 'inappropriate', methinks. I mean, christ, even the original Star Wars films had kissing. The problem was developer corner-cutting. Why develop a whole new range of motion for the character models showing kissing for one dialogue in the game which many people are likely to never see when you can just suggest it and black out the screen?
  3. Pretty much always the Bastila romance, as: 1) I'm a male. 2) Though Bastila grates on the nerves occasionally, I despise Carth. 3) It just seems more natural to the story. The Force Bond, the moment of decision on the Temple, the final showdown and redemption on the Star Forge if Light Side, the two Sith lovers conquering the Galaxy together if Dark Side; all in all, it just fits the story better than a bunch of random flirts with Carth finally culminating in....absolutely nothing. On the other hand, the Light Side or Dark Side endings make no difference to me. Whether Revan and Bastila massacre their own party and then go on to seize control of the Sith Fleet, or whether they go through the whole Redemption thing is a matter of indifference to me, and I switch between games.
  4. Anyone else make that connection when they talked with the furball in-depth? The horror.....the horror.....
  5. Screw the shutdown program. I couldn't find it either. Just bash the hell out of the console. Works just as well.
  6. We'll have to agree to disagree, then. Personally, as my last "free" planet as well, I thought it was the last high point of the game before it all started sliding into oblivion. It allowed much deeper character defining stuff than anything in KotOR. Like with the first Atris meeting, you get to argue over something a bit more complicated than 'Light Side or Dark Side.' For every trial but the last, there's more than one 'good' answer. After the empty 'redemption' of KotOR 1, such questions and moral problems are a breath of fresh air.
  7. Oh, come on now. It's a Empire Strikes Back homage, as well as character exploration. I dig that stuff.
  8. Yep. Too short. But what is there, , is great.
  9. Unless you have someone with you that has a high Security skill, you aren't opening the door anytime soon. If you bash the Thorium charges, they will always blow up, and without them you can't open the door. Just reload to before you entered the academy and put someone in your party that has a high Security skill. Note:
  10. *collapses in a fit of laughter*
  11. At the Mandalorian battle circle, if you ask for a reward for winning: Mandalorian Sergeant: "Mandalorians are warriors, nor merchants. You will receive only honor for fighting here." Exile: "Yes, Mandalorians aren't merchants....except for Kex. And you have a Mandalorian repairman. Do you have any janitors?" Barbed wit, baby.
  12. Both of these are correct. He is uninteresting, has very little to say or do, and comes across as a naive twit. I dislike Carth, but he, at least, had something resembling personality. This guy has little to do or say, and what he does say makes you want to smack him.
  13. The Sith are a kinky bunch. Too bad they also happen to look like decomposing corpses.
  14. And why do you assume the Sith on Korriban knew that? Here is a monument to Naga Sadow surrounded by tombs of other Sith Lords. By KOTOR 1, only Uthar Wynn could get into the tomb.....and he's dead now, so no one can check and see if Sadow's corpse is there or not. And I don't think Naga Sadow's eventual resting place was broadcast across the Galaxy for every Sith and Jedi who wanted to hear about it.
  15. Not a good idea that went bad. It was just a bad idea. Anyone concur? Or am I the only one who rolls his eyes when he buys Jedi robes from a Mandalorian quartermaster and finds medpacs in a Dark Side tomb on Korriban?
  16. Actually, I'm pretty sure they only do the voice acting at the very end of the development cycle. It wouldn't make much sense, otherwise, given that (as we're noting here) a lot of stuff gets cut in development. Why pay for a voice actor to voice a character who isn't even in the game anymore?
  17. Precisely. When I hear people say, 'this game would have been better if Bioware did it', I want to slap them. In its concepts, KOTOR II is superior to the original both in characters and storyline. It's just the implementation of those concepts and characters where it falls behind the original....and, frankly, I think if Bioware had had the same schedule handed to them, the game would be just as unfinished, and inferior to the present KOTOR II in most other respects as well. KOTOR II has its flaws, but most of them stem from the feeling one gets when you read a term paper by a student who just found out said paper was due the next day. The kid may be a freaking genius, and what he's writing about may be pretty good....but it's done so fast that it comes across as sloppy, with loose ends everywhere and ideas explored and then abandoned for no reason. Nonetheless, I don't like excusing Developers or Publishers for sloppy games, nor will I pretend they are anything other than what they are.
  18. Nope. Sleheyron, which I think was a planet conjured completely out of the imaginations of the Bioware developers, but which has now been frequently referenced in both games. Oh, and on the subject of the droid factory and the irritating bit of dialogue, I agree....but then, this game has many more 'loose ends' than the first one. Quests that lead nowhere, dialogue that becomes completely outdated, characters you've been more-or-less romancing who treat you exactly the same as when they just met you....and I still have no freaking clue whatever happened to the real Batu Rem. <_< Definetely not one of TSL's strong points.
  19. Heh. You realize that's a model of a real guy's face....a guy who happens to post around here every once in awhile? :D Oh, well. I'm sure they just....ummm....didn't model his face correctly. After all, consider the discrepancy between the Atris conceptual drawing and the chubby faced pain in the ass we actually encounter in-game.
  20. Huh? I didn't even notice her. By contrast, I recoil in horror at the female scavenger on Dantooine, as well as the Administrator. Hideous.
  21. Ringu is an example of a very common genre; that is, movies and ideas which start out good then are destroyed by an absurd sequel. As such, I choose to take a krypto-revisionist stance; everything past Ringu did not happen.
  22. I pity the poor bastards who There's hardly anything they could come up with which wouldn't feel like a let-down, and cause you to think
  23. I prefer the Japanese original. Children can be spooky, but....come on, now.
