  1. I think I just spotted a plot hole (gasp!) in TSL. How is it that Atton learns to understand T3M4's language so quickly? He makes it pretty obvious that he can't understand 'that noise' on Peragus, yet on Nar Shadaa he speaks with T3 and translates his speech to the crew, and he argues with him in two cutscenes - the one about T3's 'head' and when you ask Handmaiden about playing Pazaak with him. Can anyone come up with a clever explanation for this one? And does anyone else care?
  2. Or you could try the old Windu trick and aim for the neck. Surely he can't regenerate that.
  3. True. But it's a role player and you have to believe in the story. You can't have Mandalore using vibroblades. You just can't! I like to give him a hugely modified combat enforcer. Which also matches his outfit quite well!
  4. My favourite of the two was the love stories of KOTOR1. There were some equisitely written and acted conversations between Revan and Bastilla/Carth that you don't expect in either a Star Wars story or a game with such a lot of fighting. I enjoyed the Star Maps and the Jedi Masters just fine, but both games, for me, really exelled themselves when they got into side-quests that had little to do with the main plot. The NPC sidequests in particular were great, as well as the almost-love story with Atton, Visas' redemption (on the light side,) and the hints of the relationship between Exile and Atris. The bits about HK's previous masters deserve a special mention, too, I think. And maybe an Oscar.
  5. Did you all think the DS faces wee a bit over the top in KOTOR2? In the original Revan's DS faces were much less.... obvious. And if I remember right, the transition was more gradual. In my last TSL game my attractive Exile suddenly developed yellow eyes, greying hair, white skin and two enormous black eyes for no real reason half way through a romantic conversation with Atton, as if she was allergic to him. It was rather too cartoonish. And that goes for DS Kreia, Atton and Bao-Dur too. I think ideally there should be the option to turn this effect on and off.
  6. These Twi'leks get a rough deal all over the galaxy. I was always a big fan of Janice Nall. Oppressed and alone but always optimistic, making up cute rhymes and unlike many of her fellows, not just wearing underwear. Janice Nall is my gal.
  7. Got to be HK. Almost every line is a gag, and almost all of these are superb. Jolee comes a very close second, not least because of... REVAN: What do you know about the Sith? JOLEE: Bad men. Women too, to be fair. REVAN: Don't play games with me old man. JOLEE: Who's playing games? You ask the next Sith you see whether he's bad or not and he'll set you straight! Atton is MUCH funnier than Carth. Carth is only funny if he fancies you. But my third place goes to the Exile - provided you say "Don't you recognise me? I'm INSERT NAME, the famous spelunker!"
  8. Light side. I hate not being able to fall in love with someone at the end. And in the case of TSL, I wouldn't want everyone I know sudenly becoming really ugly and wearing black makeup.
  9. I'd say Bastilla as I'm quiet, sheltered and bottle things up too much. But I don't have a celebrated skill that's won any wars. If there was a single gay character in the whole of Star Wars I'd say them, just to make an annoying political point. Oh wait - Luxa seems to be bi.... Okay, I'd be her.
  10. Also I forgot to whine about something else - I won't accept KOTOR2 as ever being canon unless someone tells me why Kreia and Mira don't have last names. Damn, that's just lazy.
  11. I'd like KOTOR to in the databank just so i can get a straight answer about what the hell Kreia's goal was, what happened to Bao-Dur etc. etc. But there are many things in both KOTOR games that, whilst a lot of fun to play through, just don't make sense in the Star Wars Universe. As mentioned many times before, it's hard to believe a character, no matter how good at making force-bonds, could train four adults to wield a lightsaber competently and use small amounts of force powers within a few weeks. For me personally, some characters, events and objects resemble original trilogy characters far too strongly for me to believe in them as I do the original films (e.g. Atton is a slightly nastier Han, Malak is basically vader in red with no children and the 'revelation' scene in KOTOR and Kreia's death in a dark side TSL game are way too obvious). And, espescially in the case of TSL, I don't want a story to be canon where the main character doesn't have a name, nobody knows whether Revan turned to the light or dark side (the focal point of the entire story) and so many important details lie in the realm of Jedi philosophy and opinion. The KOTOR games are just astounding as RPG's (even with the ending issue) but they wouldn't make any sense in the databank and have no bearing on any story other than their own. I think with some details changed, some planets removed, and fuller characters built up for Revan and the Exile, the series would make a fantastic series of novels. But as they are - no way!
  12. Heh heh. I figure it should be a new character - a new Jedi Knight being trained at some Academy set up by Bastilla and the Exile's companions. The training area of the game would be your player character getting a good old fashioned traditional Jedi education from Master Shan, and the big revelation near the end is that your character is really the secret love child of Atton Rand and Zaalbar. Of course this story relies on both Revan andf the Exile choosing the light side, so it's useless. But I can still dream, dammit.
  13. Yes, yes you are. That son of a prostidroid sent millions of egocentric bounty hunters to kill me, electrocuted me in front of Mira which made me look very silly, trapped me aboard his yaught, nearly got Visas and Atton killed by an army of killer droids, wasted my time with a tiresome computer hacking quest on the yaught again, outwitted me in a one-liners-comparing-the-war-to-popular-games contest, dragged me up to his holding cell for no reason than to charge me with a mission I was already on and about to complete before he captured me, sent MORE bounty hunters after me even after I'd taken him onboard, forced his way onto the Ebon Hawk and refused to leave, wouldn't talk to me for the rest of the journey due to lack of influence, made the ending even more confusing by adding an unfinished side-story just when I had more than enough already, made far too many Star Wars movie references (which annoyed me at the best of times) and worst of all, spent the entire game doing an impression of the narrator from 'Transformers the Movie'. I really, really, don't like GOTO. I haven't raised my voice to anyone in ten years, but if GOTO were a real person, I believe I would attack him. On the other hand, I'm the only person on Earth who likes the Disciple, so at least every crew member has one fan.
  14. Agreed. I would have done every one of the things on the list, plus naked Pazaak with Atton. And killing Master Vrook. Oh, AND shooting Tobin's ships in a juddery Ebon Hawk. And also making women I know wear a skimpy dancer's outfit just so I can stare. If there were some way of doing all that in real life... well, it would be a fun weekend.
  15. Good one. I did a similar thing once - I had a male Revan named Garth Levan, just for the comedy when his true identity is revealed.
  16. My Revan was usually Owen or Anna Jast. So far, my favourite Exle names are Ellen Lorn and Arin Haris. I like to go with more 'realistic' first names to make to character more accessible.
  17. One for the fanboys...... Visas: (Removes nihilus' mask) Exile: What did you see? Visas: Oh, just some gorgeous chunk of loveliness! Exile: What did you see? Visas: Ooh, what a body! Exile: What did you SEE? Visas: My legs are still shaking.... Exile: Coe on Visas, what did you see? Visas: Somebody get me a brandy!
  18. Can anyone tell me how to get HK to say this? When I ask him about his previous master he says he has no memory of him/her. Is it just a matter of gaining influence (I didn't gain much as I was a lightsider and didn't have much to talk about with HK). Or do you have to say that Revan was darkside? Any help on this would be much appreciated as this line sounds like the funniest KOTOR line in history.
