[Class Build] The Mutineer - Scordeo's Edge/Trophy Build Concept: A swashbuckling, gunslinging, sabre-swinging pirate out to conquer the Deadfire Seas. Always out for fortune and gold, loyal to the Principi but even more loyal to themself. Build based around Scordeo’s Edge and Scordeo’s Trophy. Build: Class - Hunter (Tactician/Sharpshooter) Note: Unbroken fighter subclass works too Attributes - Prioritise MIG, DEX, INT (minimal PER because Sharpshooter gains many Accuracy bonuses) Abilities: Ranger (Key Abilities in bold) Tier I: Marked Prey (->Marked for the Hunt) Tier II: Marksman, Gunner, Two Weapon Style, Protective Companion (->Stalker's Link), Takedown (->Takedown Combo) Tier III: Evasive Roll (->Evasive Fire), Defensive Bond (->Strengthened Bond) Tier IV: Concussive Shot (->Concussive Tranquilliser), Stalker's Link, Strengthened Bond Tier V: Evasive Fire, Driving Flight, Uncanny Luck Tier VI: Concussive Tranquilliser, Survival of the Fittest, Play Dead (-> Deadly Surprise) Tier VII: Deadly Surprise, Superior Camouflage Fighter Tier I: Disciplined Barrage (->Disciplined Strikes) Tier II: Fighter Stances (->Mob Stance), Confident Aim Tier III: Disciplined Strikes, Hold The Line Tier IV: Weapon Specialization Tier V: Mob Stance Tier VI: Clear Out, Overbearing Guard, Reaping the Whirlwind Tier VII: Unbreakable Key Equipment: Scordeos Edge and Scordeo’s Trophy Miscreant's Leathers Fair Favour Party: Eder (Swashbuckler) Serafen (Barbarian) Aloth (Battlemage) Xoti (Priest) or Vatnir (Celebrant) Gameplay: The idea was to create a build that can best utilize the Scordeo weapon set. After much research and brainstorming, I concluded that the Hunter multiclass offers us the perfect opportunity to take advantage of the unique sabre and pistol. Let's have a look at the items in question: Scordeo's Trophy: Opening Shot - Scoring Hits (includes Grazes and Crits) with this weapon grants a stacking -5% Recovery time with Melee weapons for 30.0 sec // Critical Shot: +15% Crit damage Scordeo's Edge: Highwayman: +2 Accuracy with Ranged weapons for 30.0 sec on scoring Hit (includes Graze and Crit) (stacks 10 times) // Double Strike: 5% chance to Recover instantly on scoring Hit (includes Graze and Crit) The whole concept of the set is to gain bonuses to melee recovery by shooting the pistol, while also gaining bonuses to pistol recovery when slashing away in melee. This is where the Hunter multi class comes in: At start of combat activate Disciplined Strikes for some bonuses to perception and hit-chance before blasting away at the enemy of your choice. Thanks to Driving Flight passive of the ranger, every pistol shot aimed at the opponent will also hit an opponent behind, proc'ing Opening Shot as well, allowing us to gain faster stacks. After firing off our opening shots, we jump into the fray with Evasive Fire, which can place us perfectly close to the mob while also firing at a random opponent for more Opening Shot stacks. It will also grant us the Quick inspiration, making us act faster. Once in melee range, we slash away with our sabre at lightning speed, activating Highwayman's stacks (and if lucky Blade Cascade upgrade), and upon killing an opponent, we will finish off with a devastating Full Attack on the nearest enemy using both the pistol and the sabre thanks to Mob Stance. These attacks will likewise trigger the enchantments of the Scordeo Set. For the tougher opponents, we have Clear Out, which will also trigger a Full Attack, as well as knock back the opponent. When running low on discipline resources, we can also use Concussive Tranquilliser to interrupt an opponent and gain resources back thanks to the Tactician subclass. When things get too hot, spring out of reach with Evasive Fire once more and then begin the process from the beginning. And there you have it - a fun build that uses the Scordeo set to its fullest potential. Hope you enjoyed reading! Cheers, Morrowindnostalgia2 points

Thank you and congratulations, this eventually set an answer to the ancient question "How can I make Scordeo's set work?" Edit. In a party, with someone giving you brilliant, maybe a Black Jacket can work? With Pistol (and a bashing shield) in set one and Sabre in the other weapon set (maybe one handed)? Anyway tactician multiclassed with a ranger is good for threaten enemy with the animal companion. About the ranger, sharshooter has recovery penalty, perhaps a Stalker can work, it makes the character less squishy, too... I'm thinking whether a monk, a very fast class, with Instruments of Pain can achieve good results with Scordeo's Set, have you tried it? Myabe a Nalpazca who can add good buffs with drugs...1 point

I've created some mods and have been using them in my playthrough. I'm sharing them in case someone finds them useful. They're compatible with Patchwork framework, making them compatible with other mods such as 6 Party Size. * [Disable Screen Shake](https://www.nexusmods.com/pillarsofeternity2/mods/784): Disable Screen Shake, I love to use Meteor Shower but I feel that the screen shake effects makes it more confusing during combat. Here is the video example: https://youtu.be/02_JYRUiDgM * [Allow Godlikes to wear hats](https://www.nexusmods.com/pillarsofeternity2/mods/783): In this playthrough I wanted to create a Godlike character in preparation for Avowed, but I also wanted to wear hats. Here is a photo of the mod enabled: https://i.ibb.co/2Nq4DLB/godlike-hat-mod.png1 point

I was going to spend christmas day painting. A friend asked yesterday what I was going to do, so I said I'd be painting. Another friend heard that and said she doesn't think I should spend Christmas alone. So now I'll be having family&friends lunch tomorrow. Other than that I really should be painting.1 point

Happy Holidays all! Im off until 2 Jan, WOOOOO! Were having the fam over tomorrow for presents and I think we have another extended family party to go to too. I got my Christmas bonus and used some of it to buy myself a smart ring. My neighbor has one and I tried hers out and it seems pretty cool.1 point

Got tired of seeing and listening to Publisher and Studio logos (no offense), then decided to create and share this mod. Skip Startup Logos for faster and muted startup. This is a Patchwork mod to achieve compatibility with other mods. Without the logos, it takes 10+ seconds in a black screen to load the main screen. Video showing the mod, cut for demonstration: Youtube link Link to the mod: NexusMods1 point

Hi and welcome, it's totally fine. I don't think anybody here has a problem with reviving old topics if there is something new to add (or if there's a question that wasn't already answered and so on). Thanks for the info!1 point

Some hats that looked cool with a Moon Godlike: https://imgur.com/a/EjLV73G I feel that the Pearlescent Rhomboid Helstone item should fit in all Godlikes, given that it is a flying orb: https://youtu.be/s0FmBQ8V6ww1 point

Sorry to revive such an old topic but this still shows up as a top result when searching for if you can get Willbreaker without killing the slavers. Tested currently on v. 5.0.0.0040, you can actually have begun the quests A Shrewd Preposition and Tip of the Spear, sneak into the basement, slaughter the guards, grab Willbreaker, and still be friendly with the rest of Crookspear. It would seem Crookspear only gets hostile when you release the slaves, which leads to the mini cutscene of the guards sounding the horns.1 point

It's not a problem if you selected the dark path option once (or twice). For every option during your quest dialogue there will be +1 point to either the light or the dark side. Once the quest comes to an end the game will look whether you chose light or dark options only - then the outcome will be clear. But if you took some light and some dark options you can influence the outcome during this last stage of the quest. Only if you took dark options exclusively until this point you will be locked into the dark side. For more details read here: https://pillarsofeternity.fandom.com/wiki/The_Lantern_of_Gaun You have to pay close attention to the explanation at the end: it's a bit counterintuitive to get the outcome you want. However, I think that's a much easier solution than trying to alter the savegame.1 point

Barbarian can tank well enough if you don't focus on stellar deflection (but not dropping it either) but try to stack AC. Underpenetration, combined with even more reduced dmg received (Cadhu Scalth for example) and the enormous health pool of a Barb can make you sturdy as hell. Just don't pick Berserker. I played a dumped-deflection but stacked AR Furyshaper with focus on Blood Ward and Barbaric Retaliation with Battle Axes (Bleeding Cuts) as offtank (not main tank at all) and at some point I could just jump into everything (at higher levels though) because the life draining is so strong. Thick skinned and the other defensive stuff is mandatory. So is Savage Defiance of course. Leap does daze enemies which can be very helpful. Regeneration items might help as well. The Dazing Shout is especially great for a tanking Barb. But it's for SC Barb's only. Nevertheless it's absolutely great because it not only causes -4 PEN on enemies but also deals a great deal of damage in a huge AoE. It turns a slow hitting guy into a great AoE CC/damage dealer as soon as Blood Thirst and Blood Surge trigger - and as a Furyshaper with Blood Ward it also heals you a lot (especially if you took Blood Storm which will put a DoT on all crits from Dazing Shout - and Blood Ward even drains life from DoT ticks. But Spirit Tornado is also good). I think this could work well with a more definitive weapon setup and high RES as well. But I didn't play that yet. Multiclass Barb's can't have Dazing Shout, but they can still profit from the +3 engagement of Barbaric Shout. If you want to tank with a Witch you'd not only need to stack up some defenses and AR but also reduce enemies ACC - or even better: disable them completely. Again I would suggest a Furyshaper because the Fear Ward is just incredible if you have some means to lower Will defenses (Cipher has and Barbaric Shout is also shaking enemies). A Furyshaper/Beguiler can shout and bind several foes, then summon the Ward and then spam several CC spells that will control the enemies (and fill up focus). Furyshapers have bad Will but Ciphers have very high Will and can pick a unique Will boost passive. Since interrupts will mess up your casting I would use Rekvu's Fractured Casque with an injury like Acute Rash or Serious Burn (let your party caster knock you out with some acid or fire spell out of combat). Or pile up some Concentration instead. Cipher spells that help controlling the enemies and preventing them from attacking/hitting you and your friends are stuff like Eyestrike, Secret Horrors and such. Ringleader is great leader on. Borrowed Instincts and Body Attunement are no-brainers. Here the "tanking" part doesn't come from the highest defenses but more from controlling and disabling the enemies. If you shower them with Secret Horrors, Phantom Foes, Mental Bindings and such while the Fear Ward constantly hammers against their Will defenses you can "tank" (in the sense of preventing enemies to attack your party) very well if you combine that with a good deal of sturdyness. If you use something like Cadhu Scalth (it's just the best tanking shield imo) you should focus on PER to make up for the -8 ACC. MIG isn't that important. DEX and RES are though. So yeah - Furyshaper/Beguiler would be my pick. With Cadu Scalth and Kapana Taga I guess (lower Will by 25 with the modal so the Ward can kick in). Thick armor. Instead of Rekvu's Fractured Casque (still my favorite) I can imagine the White Witch Mask being useful. Reckless Brigandine would complete a Witch in Huana-Mataru style. But other items would work, too. I didn't try it myself and I can imagine it wouldn't work as a tank in the early levels, but after some time it should hold up well in most fights as well as wrecking enemies' tactics. Maybe bring a dedicated tank in the first few levels and then change or retrain. If you have a Priest in the party the FuryShaper will laugh his ass off: you can withdraw the wards but they will keep working, making them invincible. So please pick Withdraw.1 point
