So for the spell creation system, can a character use one core for multiple different spells at the same time, or is a core used to build one spell 'used up'?

Like if I have the base lightning core that you get for chosing lightning magic at character creation, can I use it with an increased range accent and equipt the long-range lightning in one spell/ability slot and then use the same core with an AoE accent to create an AoE lightning spell and equipt that in another slot? I was assuming you could but looking at streams every time its diffrent kinds of spells in every slot.

Could you make two identical spells and equipt them in differenet slots so you get two uses of it?

Also what does 'Spell Strength' (from Wits) affect? I assume it increases spell damage but does it also increase other spell effects? Would a haste spell make targets faster and a strength buff give more strength bonus if you have higher 'Spell Strength'?

Can someone please hack time so I can play this now?

Seriously. I've been failing my checks to avoid reading this thread. If only the game would come out, I would spoiler myself by playing the damned thing! On the other hand, I've been making my checks to avoid reading anything that substantially spoils anything, so all good. Less than one month to go.

Don't bother. No one was able to play Tyranny because the release date was after the Great Election Apocalypse of 2016.

I am thinking of pre-ordering this but Pillars of Eternity left a sour taste in my mouth. It wasn't that bad but it wasn't anything to write home about either. Main story felt stale and the character stats and the leveling system didn't appeal to me at all. There were different classes with a bucketload of different abilities but the progression in each class lacked diversity, you could stick to the same spells you started the game with and push all the way through to the end. Didn't finish the game though, after 47 hours I had to take a break because Unity based games make my AMD 7770 roar like a jet engine for some reason. Incredibly annoying!

I disagree with everything you wrote and everything you stand for.

Actually I agree about the abilities, but the story was fantastic.

It's not even about disagreeing, disliking Pillars is downright immoral. The game's also the sole reason you people have to suffer me around!

Anyway, while I'm still annoyed by the choice of reducing party size, character creation screen has more or less sold me on the game. Then again, given the state of majority of Obsidian's games on release, I really, really should wait.

But that's the wrong attitude... The right attitude would be to spent 400 more euros to get up to date specs for your new game :p

Main Features:

-Branching, unique stories in an original setting: The battle between good and evil has already taken place, and evil stands victorious

-Choices matter – make world-altering decisions with far-reaching consequence: As a Fatebinder in the Overlord’s army you wield a vast amount of power in the occupied lands of the Tiers. Will you use that to inspire stability and loyalty, will you be feared, or will you seek your own power?

-Challenging, classic RPG combat: Tactical real-time-with-pause combat with new party-driven mechanics and modern presentation

-A rich original setting: Not just another “hero’s journey” -- Tyranny turns the archetypal RPG story on its head and allows players to explore a new take on good and evil

Hmmm...on second thoughts, I think I'll pass.  :p

In most situations I consider pre-ordering a bit silly, but meh... Pillars hit enough marks that I was willing to for Tyranny.  If they can manage to keep doing a good job with this kind of game, and resist the urge to consolify it too much or dumb down the writing, I'll trust them to deliver something good.  Of course, it doesn't take many misses to ruin that kind of trust, but Pillars earned it, so at the moment, I'm willing.

Also, I, for one, am going to be disappointed if the evil overlord subjugating the world and turning everything to **** in Tyranny does not, in fact, turn out to be Mark Zuckerberg.

Looks interesting enough to think about. I just need to get my ass out of ps4 gaming( erm Destiny ) and i can buy this.

In all fairness, from what we've seen of the game, this seems like a gross oversimplification and mostly marketing talk.

Is there any video where you can see the tooltip for the Control Vigor or Control Life skills?

The tooltips for the other magic skills say they increase chance for hit and crit but since I assume buffs and heals don't need to roll to hit your own party members (that would be silly) I wonder what they do.
