Check the Obsidian twich channel. There is about 1 hour long Q+A with Josh and one more obsidian guy. They are showing part of a new big dungeon similar to the endless paths. During that they are answering questions and if i recall correctly Josh says, that he is pretty sure it will be possible. But i dont know.

There are many.. if it's an old one, Josh probably changed his mind.

Its not old. Its new from April 2018.

In the first game, i never used any of the companions, always created my own party with min / max stats. That's maybe a bit harsh storywise / lorewirse, but gameplaywise it's truly better.

Not really - because official companions start one level above hirelings and thus have a big advantage in the early game. And in the late game some of them even get unique talents/abilities nobody else can get.

 

It's a self-induced illusion or hearsay that min-maxed hirelings generally make the game easier.

 

How do you know the difference if you never used any of the official companions? :p
