Blarghagh
Spider man was still Peter Parker and still wearing the awful black suit (and no it wasn't an alien) But it DID come from an interdimensional vending machine. :D

Guard Dog
Do you want to know what I love about Americans? When we are pushed, we push back. Since the demonstrations following the Parkland murders donations to the NRA have tripled. in January they took in $248k, In February they took in nearly $780k. And 68% of that was in the last 10 days of the month. Individual contributors are up by 500% between Jan & Feb. That means not only are people donating more, more people are donating. Like I posted before, the NRA is portrayed as this faceless evil force, Sauron in his tower. But the truth is, I am the NRA. And so is every other member. Now, if we could just cancel the NRA's Twitter account we'd be getting somewhere. Bartimaeus
Hi, Sauron. Quote How I have existed fills me with horror. For I have failed in everything - spelling, arithmetic, riding, tennis, golf; dancing, singing, acting; wife, mistress, whore, friend. Even cooking. And I do not excuse myself with the usual escape of 'not trying'. I tried with all my heart. In my dreams, I am not crippled. In my dreams, I dance. Amentep
Wasn't he gray for a while? And Chill, the key to comedic expression is to say it without saying it! Joe Fixit. Gray and smarter than regular Hulk, wore a suit and worked as an enforcer for a Las Vegas casino. It's more or less when The Incredible Hulk becomes a comic worth reading. Technically, he's gray in his first appearance as well (Incredible Hulk #1, 1962) and had more dialogue than the subsequent green version. The creation of Joe Fixit was based on that original coloring and character use, positing it as a different Hulk personality in Banner's mind that manifested ultimately as the Joe Fixit Hulk. I stopped reading comics in the '80's. So as far as I am concerned comics stopped in the '80's dammit. Captain America was all a hero should be, Spider man was still Peter Parker and still wearing the awful black suit (and no it wasn't an alien), Bat Man is still alive, the Hulk was green and Thor still had a hammer (if you know what I mean)! Spider-Man is still Peter Parker but he's back to a more-or-less similar version of the classic suit, Captain America is still a hero (Hydra Cap was an alternate timeline manipulation created by a sentient Cosmic Cube, depending on how you read it). All three of the primary Hulks are back to green. Batman technically never died (people thought he died but he was actually transported through time). Superman did die, but he got better due to a one-time confluence of happenstance. Thor hasn't got his hammer back, but Jane Foster's dying so it'll return to him soon. As a side note, Spider-Man had the black costume from 1984 to 1988. The year prior to that, Thor had lost Mjolnir to Beta Ray Bill...these changes are cyclical and always happening in comics. 1 I cannot - yet I must. How do you calculate that? Gorgon
I was never really into the superhero stuff anyway, but yeah in its heyday there was a lot of good and ambitious stuff. I wish there was a spotify for comics. If I could get all the weird french comics I used to love in a subscription service I would jump at that. Main problem is the same as in anything, movies, music, whathaveyou there is so much crap it effectively hides away most of the good new stuff. Gfted1
^Marvel and DC comics both offer apps that include vast digital libraries. Amentep
You took that waaayyy to seriously Amentep. And.... wrong hammer! Well yeah, but with my regular comic forum gone, I rarely get a chance to post on this stuff. Thor never lost that hammer (unless you count that Edda story where Loki disguised him as a woman with magic). Current Thor is Jane Foster, who never had that hammer. (Lets avoid the obvious jokes about her relationship with Thor from the early comics ). I was never really into the superhero stuff anyway, but yeah in its heyday there was a lot of good and ambitious stuff. I wish there was a spotify for comics. Glénat Editions SA, Les Humanoïdes Associés, Société Dargaud are the older French publishers I'm aware of. Éditions Dupuis S.A., Casterman and Le Lombard the Beligum ones. Glénat (French and English), Humanoids (English only, I think), Dargaud (French only), Dupuis (French only), Le Lombard (French only) all distribute e-comics through Comixology, I believe. Several of the newer publishers do as well (Delcourt is there, for example). 2 I cannot - yet I must. How do you calculate that? At what point on the graph do "must" and "cannot" meet? rjshae
Today's bit of political irony: Trump, who pays next to no taxes, is complaining that Amazon doesn't pay enough taxes. Heh. Funny though, I get socked for sales taxes every time I shop there. Does the guy (Trump) have an ounce of statesmanship in his rather large body? We might need a dedicated medical team to spot it. injurai
I literally don't see how any real change against the 2nd Amendment could be politically feasible, the amount of effort opposing sensible gun-laws compared to more serious matters certainly is a case of chasing the red herring. Zoraptor
Or for those who only read the headlines, 142 total diplomats expelled plus quite a few more Brits to reduce their diplomatic staffing to the same levels as those of Russia in the UK. The number of extra Brits isn't anywhere near the 755 extra americans kicked last time, but it adds considerably to the 23 formally expelled. We ain't kicked any Russians because they don't have any spies here, which generated some amusing headlines overseas. More realistically, we didn't kick anyone because when French agents outright murdered an NZ citizen Thatcher told us to harden up and endorsed French sanctions on us, and memories for such things are rather long here especially in the Labour Party.
