Josh mentioned in his talk the other day that Deadfire is finished. I have to imagine that they needed to have the completed game to the manufacture a while ago in order to have disks inside the packages that go on shelves, get shipped to Backers, etc.

I think he is half joking. Just after it he talks about how audio team is balancing the audio and having ton of work before release. I would imagine that other polishing work is happening as well. From what josh said game has been “completed” for a while and now is in state of cleaning up.
