majestic
Don't remember if I've posted this one before, but if I did, I have no shame. It's good enough to be posted thrice. Floor Jansen has won me over completely with this performance, better than both Tarja and Anette. Well... yeah. Here's the rub though, I thought Anette was terrible on Dark Passion Play but ended up really enjoying her performance on Imaginaerium. I've by far and large stopped listening to Nightwish. No real desire to get used to another vocalist only to have her fired shortly thereafter. Speaking of new things, new single from Within Temptation. Not sure if I like that more than the pop-gothic they've put out in the past few years, although I don't mind them being a bit heavier again (or actually heavy, for a change, it that makes sense). I just never expected... well... dunno, this sounds like Nine Inch Nails at times. edit: Speaking of NIN: Edited November 12, 2018 by majestic 1 No mind to think. No will to break. bugarup
You guys are entirely too cheerful for denizens of the forum the owner of which just got gobbled up by Evil Corp. Lets bring it down a little.
Malcador
Not bad, was worried they'd be some modern metal band with the terrible vocals Why has elegance found so little following? Elegance has the disadvantage that hard work is needed to achieve it and a good education to appreciate it. - Edsger Wybe Dijkstra
Katphood
This brings back memories from 2005-2006 where I got to see these guys live twice. Good times! Lets bring it down a little. 1 Civilization, in fact, grows more and more maudlin and hysterical; especially under democracy it tends to degenerate into a mere combat of crazes; the whole aim of practical politics is to keep the populace alarmed (and hence clamorous to be led to safety) by menacing it with an endless series of hobgoblins, most of them imaginary. - H.L. Agiel
Learned recently that Erik Lindmark, frontman and until recently sole remaining founding member of legendary death metal outfit Deeds of Flesh and founder of Unique Leader Records has recently passed. Quote “Political philosophers have often pointed out that in wartime, the citizen, the male citizen at least, loses one of his most basic rights, his right to life; and this has been true ever since the French Revolution and the invention of conscription, now an almost universally accepted principle. But these same philosophers have rarely noted that the citizen in question simultaneously loses another right, one just as basic and perhaps even more vital for his conception of himself as a civilized human being: the right not to kill.” -Jonathan Littell <<Les Bienveillantes>> Quote "The chancellor, the late chancellor, was only partly correct. He was obsolete. But so is the State, the entity he worshipped. Any state, entity, or ideology becomes obsolete when it stockpiles the wrong weapons: when it captures territories, but not minds; when it enslaves millions, but convinces nobody. When it is naked, yet puts on armor and calls it faith, while in the Eyes of God it has no faith at all. Any state, any entity, any ideology that fails to recognize the worth, the dignity, the rights of Man...that state is obsolete." -Rod Serling
