In PoE there were several opportunities for bad guys to get perm stat bonuses (blood pool, heritage hill etc.), or learn new abilities that benfit "bad" types like rogues - the bonus to stilettos and daggers in WM - at least they seem more orientated towards dodgy backstabbing character types.

Why can't good people increase their stats?

You get to be nice and loved.

Its own reward. XD

They sacrifice personal power for better future for all :cat:

Because the entire point of doing good is not expecting a tangible reward for it?

There are permanent stat boosts you can get whilst playing a good character. You get a stat boost for rescuing that girl from Noonfrost and one for convincing that guy in Twin Elms not to eat the birds.

That's right. First you rescue her then you consume her soul (along with some fava beans and a nice chianti).

Llengrath offers a substantial attribute bonus if you take the nonviolent approach to that encounter.

What? You can solve that encounter peacefully? I googled a way to do so and could not find it. How did you do it?

The wiki provides the relevant details on Llengrath's page. You also get the special grimoire and bog dragon scales with this approach.

You can also argue whether it's cruel or not to sacrifice Durance in the blood pool...

It is immoral that a mattress should have so much power […] glory to the mattress which nullifies a cannon

This topic title... i always read it as something else...

I cant be the only one who s noticed....

Well it is ok mechanic:

  • You can be good, and have game a bit harder but manageable
  • You can sacrifize innocent for unlimited power. Greater good requires greater sacrifize. And best sacrifize is one done by others. That s what Lucifer says.

In fact i enjoy all this moment when we have choice, and can make somebody suffer or disapear for personal gain.

Evil is not all demonic laughter and black leather. Sometimes you just need to believe, that your own good and opinion is so much better than anyone else.

"Those who look upon gods then say, without even knowing their names, 'He is Fire. She is Dance. He is Destruction. She is Love.' So, to reply to your statement, they do not call themselves gods. Everyone else does, though, everyone who beholds them."
"So they play that on their fascist banjos, eh?"
"You choose the wrong adjective."
"You've already used up all the others.”

It's not truly being good if you do it for the stat bonuses. If you want to be congratulated with stat bonuses for doing the right thing, then you're not really good, or doing the right thing, now are you. I definitely oppose giving characters stat bonuses because they were 'good', in fact, I think a truly good character should have an opportunity to demonstrate his/her willingness to self-sacrifice by taking a permanent penalty to their stats in order to save another meaningful character.

The most important step you take in your life is the next one.

It might not be selfless but it is still good.

I want stat bonuses for good people so other players, not me, are rewarded for being good :)

Me getting those bonuses as well is a side effect i'm willing to accept  :dancing:

Vancian =/= per rest.

The deed perhaps, but not the character.

Nah, I like it how it is. The best motivation to do evil deeds and slaughter younglings is supreme power and a cool dark cloak. Good players get the power of friendship.

Will/resolve bonuses for resisting temptation to grab power.

>implying helping poor tortured farmes build effigy to get revenge is a bad thing

How dare you to think that you need you companion more than Effigy. Do you have no heart? It's selfish.

More like penalty to will/resolve for lacking of guts, but bonus into reputation, i guess. Makes sense.

I hope that there are penalties for doing the neutral evil path that most gamers take with regards to emptying every container in every house and selling the contents. random theft should be treated as a crime not rewarded with financial gain. At least have your companions comment on your larcenous behavior.

When you complete a quest you should not automatically get a reward, you should either do it for free cause you're the hero or ask for money like a mercenary. Make it a choice between being virtuous or being rich, not the default save the world and get rich while doing so.
