Music. Must. Go on!

Holy s***, this girl does amazing black metal covers... on a classical piano:

Speaking of which, Deathspell Omega released their newest EP <<The Synarchy of Molten Bones>>. I have to announce this here otherwise I'd run to to the top of a church belltower to yell it for all to hear, right before I set fire to it.

How I have existed fills me with horror. For I have failed in everything - spelling, arithmetic, riding, tennis, golf; dancing, singing, acting; wife, mistress, whore, friend. Even cooking. And I do not excuse myself with the usual escape of 'not trying'. I tried with all my heart.

In my dreams, I am not crippled. In my dreams, I dance.

Well...it's about as good as Load.

Magma - Mekanïk Destruktïẁ Kommandöh

Been listening to this album practically non-stop during the last couple of days. Magma's most "popular" release, arguably, but also it's the band at its most extreme and maximalist, really putting a whole new meaning to the term "rock opera". It's not my favorite of the band per se because I think the vocals can be at times awesome and at others irritating, and they'd get better at them in the following releases. But it's still monumental, so unique and full of energy. Christian Vander composes musical cathedrals. Incredible and should be heard at least once, especially by those who enjoy music that's a little out of the mainstream loop.

Very nice. My youngest sister (a whopping 20 years younger!) used to have a toy that played "The Swan" as a bedtime lullaby. It's sorta remained as her leit-motif ever since. In fact... This year I made this little sequence using "The Swan", from some stuff we shot on a day out by the countryside:

That was pretty neat, thanks for sharing, :).

I'd actually never heard the song before. Was on some random compilation album that I just went through that's just a collection of a bunch of...I guess "experimental" would be the best word for it, music from different artists. Album entitled "Gravikords, Whirlies & Pyrophones" - yep, sounds like a title for an experimental compilation album.

Checking out the tracklist right now... Sounds pretty interesting. Lots of novelty artists, for certain, with only two I recognize out of the bat (Robert Moog, mostly for his innovations in electronic and synthesized instruments, and Harry Partch, who's an excellent New York modern classical composer), plus Tom Waits of course who apparently provides a foreword in it. I'll look into it!

For what it's worth, I thought the Swan was the best of the lot. A few of the tracks really only barely qualify as music...so if you do end up listening to it, I hope you have an accepting/tolerant ear. I think most people would turn their nose up at such things immediately, :p

That's three of Bob's kids that have gone into reggae ? Guess no fear of being compared to their dad. Bob sure had a heck of a lot of kids. Also because a coworker inflicted this on me, I shall do so onto you all (also Shady liked this before the edit, so he likes this still, muwahahaha - this actually is a forum software flaw) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GjsnYmi4z0U
