Does Perception or DEX benefit playing the knife game in The White March?  I could swear that my character does far better with a high perception and wins almost every time.  With a low perception (3) character, I almost never won and eventually gave up trying to get the talent.  I have only noticed this with the perception stat, but I haven't tried other combinations to test.  Also, I usually pick the "nose" instead of "ears", but I am not sure if that actually matters.

For dozens (dice game), I haven't seen any connection between stats and winning, but I haven't really tested different combinations.

Thoughts?

Side Note:  This is part of the reason I wanted a decent Perception score for my knife-wielding fighter this time around.

Did the chanter have a different stat particularly low?  I wonder if DEX could play a role.  I love DEX, so I never dump that stat.

Or maybe I just got really unlucky/lucky...

I tried with a Barb with 20 str and 20 int and 10-12 in everything else and I lost damn near every game.
Would love to know what needs boosting to up the win rate.

My hunch is that Perception and/or DEX serve as modifiers (it would make sense), but we need more data.

Someone should try retraining to the extremes 3 PER, 3 DEX and then 18 PER, 18 DEX, and then maybe 3 and 18 of each and see if it impacts win-rate.

I suppose only dex matter, whity 18 dex monk i won a three games in a row, with my 3 dex chanter was quite rare to win... But maybe is just random, i have not done much intensive testing

On a related note, which is better:  Nose or Ears?  It makes a whole lot more sense that nose would be better, but who knows.  Maybe nose is more risky, but higher payout and ears are more reliable?

Anyone been able to pin down what makes a difference here? I want to use a dagger as my final weapon, or at least a while longer, so getting this talent would be greatly desirable.

Currently I have 17 Per (base 10 with Lilith's, Tower's Resting bonus and Song of the Heavens) but my Dex is crap (5) and while I win about half my matches on the whole I just can't seem to get enough consecutive victories. Is it 5 needed? Because I've had 4 so far, then a loss, so I guess that gives me a little hope.

Further, I noticed that unequiping my shield did seem to make a positive impact - so it could be that it's going off the accuracy of your primary weapon, mine is about 115ish (Rogue + Reckless Assault + Drawn in Spring + my temp Per boosts + level 14).

My Barb with max str and int and everything else at 10 managed to get it after a lot of frustration. I had 3 extra dex and pers from items and had the Caed Nua 3+ pers buff.
Seems like its mostly just RNG from my experience, think I got it when I won 3 times in a row.
Weirdly enough the dice games I got the talent in 2min when I went there for part 2 of White March but could never get it during part 1. Same with the flick the wrist talent.

Didn't think of it before, but does this buff work for Soulbound weapons? I've never really used a Soulbound on my main char before, so haven't thought to test it, but with the new Firebug Dagger being so awesome, it'll be nice to pick up an extra free 4 acc.

So there's nothing which makes having both talents incompatible? I've definitely won three times in a row, and yet no talent - I've posted this in the bugs section too to make sure this isn't just bad luck.

I did a little testing, it seems like DEX > PER in terms of an effect, but both do seem to affect the score - athletics has no effect at all (I thought it might do, so I boosted it to 9 but didn't see a change). In terms of getting more wins, I found it more useful when they got a low score (a one or a two) to go for the ears, when they got a seven or a ten go for the nose. The ears do seem to be a slightly more dependable option, which is why it's best to go for them if they're already not scoring high, especially if it's the last round and you only need 7 to win.

The Dozen's Luck took me a minute or two. It's good that you can just spam the number 1 button to cycle through the turns faster. No idea if there's anything that would affect it - my character has high lore and mechanics, middling stealth (not sure if the idea could be some sleight of hand takes place), low Dex, high Might, high Resolve and high Con, the rest was left at base.

Respec and increase your dex/per... You can also reload each time you lose and save after each win...

I never had the patience to get these talents :(

Out of interest, do the bonuses from Flick of the Wrist apply to Soulbound weapons?

Indeed Flick of the Wrist was applied to all soulbound and summoned weapons. I don't know if they changed it in 3.0, but I doubt it.

Did save-scumming like this definitely work for you? I've definitely just had 5+ consecutive wins through save scumming and yet no talent. Maybe it is bugged, at least on mac.

Yes, it worked.

Sucks to be me then, why is it only the things I want in the game that are bugged? I've made a thread about it in tech support so hopefully they can sort it out.

Retraining to high DEX/PER and retraining back is probably the easiest way.  Only costs a couple thousand copper, which is really not a big deal.  People pay that kind of money just for weapon and armor enchants without a second thought.  Alternatively, if you use the stronghold rest bonus and items that buff those stats (and food of course), it should be easier.  3 rest bonus + 2 food + 3 item = 8 stat boost and I am sure there are easy ways to get it even higher temporarily.  Of course, this all assumes that the stats actually matter.  I don't know that we have proof of that yet, for certain.

Hear a dumb man: if you just spam the button " 1 " you are always aiming for the nose, and the game go on Pretty fast. You don' t need to read or anything, just spam the button as fast as you can. I'm quite sure that consecutive victories don't matter much, you just need to win some games. I bet you will get the talent in 2-5 minutes of pure spamming, you will lose much more time and money with respect or other kinds of optimization. Same goes for dozen game. Spam is the way

I thought it was when your opponent ran out of money.  Once, I spammed forever and ever and never got it.  Another time, I just played a few games and got it.  Pretty sure the one I tried forever resulted in more total victories.

That's maybe it, I did try spamming like crazy before optimising my PER for it. I've got a save before I ever entered the Inn, so I'll give it another go and see.

With wizard 18 dex, 20 per it was 100% success sadly I don't know the cutoff values however if you can afford respeccing then there should be no problem
