See? People like pineapple on their pizza! It means I'm right and all of you lot are wrong. Except for the ones liking pineapple on their pizza who are clearly the elite.

When society crumbles and humanity will grasp onto the last remnants of its existence, the chosen ones who'll step up and bring mankind back to glory will be the ones who like pineapple on their pizza. Scientifically proven fact.

They just haven't found the better pizzas yet.

I swear by the combination of Onions, Kalamata Olives (crappy black olives can **** right off), and hot peppers.

I'll go for a sausage & peppers pie every once in a while, but most of the time I don't want to add an additional grease source-- the cheese brings plenty.  Anchovies are also nice every once in a while (in place of the olives).

There is also the category of artsy "premium" pizza that you get at a sit-down joint with a huge wood- or coal-fired oven.  That's a whole separate discussion-- different sauces, expensive cheeses, seafood options, etc.

I have always felt I was a member of the elite class...your post confirms it  :teehee:

Yes I normally order 2-3  different Cheeses if I order  what we call a  " gourmet Pizza "

In South Africa this Pizza place sells what is known as gourmet Pizza

Question - in the discussion on the other thread I noticed people put spinach on pizza. I've never seen this. Is it any good?

Spinach is okay but arugula is better but even then more for flatbreads than pizzas. The only green I like on pizza on some fresh basil.

Pesto with chicken is pretty popular in these parts.  I like it if it isn't oily.

The correct answer is gorgonzola, kalamata, basil, sliced tomatoes, anchovies, and a drizzle of olive oil on a thin crust baked over a wood burning oven.

Urgh, if there's one thing I never understood it's putting anchovies on pizza.

EDIT: I guess I shouldn't judge, I've made kebab pizzas.

I don't hate anchovies in general, I just haven't found a pizza recipe it goes with. Tomatoes and cheese seem to just bring out the worst of those little fishies. They go fantastic with creamy sauces though.

Anything but mushrooms on a pizza and I'll be willing to eat it.

My mood changes too much to select a favorite pizza, but right now a thin crust with chicken, garlic, spinach, sun dried tomatoes, and olives on top of parmesan, provolone, feta and olive oil sounds good.

Anchovies are delicious on Pizza but obviously you just need to chose your other ingredients a little prudently as its a strong taste

Leferd you must add Capers to that Pizza you like, it goes well with Anchovies

Tomatoes, cheese, anchovies, capers, and olives actually go into one of my standby pasta sauce recipes.

Then again, I'm a sucker for salt and umami.

I just don't like anchovies, so wouldn't want any on my pizza.

RE Spinach: I've had a few just cheese and spinich w/tomato sauce pizzas and they were good.

I love anchovies on pizza from time to time but I also don't like them cooked on but rather I get them on the side and place them on top. I had a bad experience in Estonia using this method once because their anchovies were not like our anchovies... I don't actually think it was an anchovy at all

I love fish, and even eat sardines right out of the can, but anchovies are just too damn salty for me.

That must have been funny

What did your wife say it was?

I have posted this before but check out this relatively common pizza phenomenon in SA where you can chose your own ingredients ...you will see you can put sweets on Pizza and apparently people do order it

They also put nutella on it, so I think it can be dismissed out of hand. :p

I always order either what is known here as as pizza salami, pizza pollo (chicken) or pizza quattro formaggi. And I like my pizza to be large with a thin crust. None of that thick stuff from the pizza chains, if I wanted a pie, I would have ordered pie.

Never attribute to malice that which can adequately be explained by incompetence.
