Eh, if I do a concentrated run (and I mean silly hours reading at a time) and no distractions, I've re-read 12 of the books in a week. I keep meaning to do it again now it's complete. It took me about two moths to read through all the books the first time, in Swedish. Then I tried them in English. Took me three weeks. They were'nt annoying in English and had a better "feel" than Swedish. No book or reference material should be restricted from prison inmates. All education is not directed. Just reading a book in a cell is an educational experience even if the book is fiction. Just introducing someone whose sole perspective is only their own to another persons thoughts expands the mind. If educated inmates are half as likely to re-offend then education should be encouraged. And not just classroom work. There is a lot of that already. Expanding access to reading material is a low cost way to improve the rehabilitation of inmates and they do all the work. To me it's a no brainier. Even porno mags. By restricting them you just create a black market for them and likely increase the instances of rape between inmates. Nothing makes me more leery that restricting access to knowledge. Tale Posted April 17, 2018 Share Posted April 17, 2018 As the self-proclaimed King Weeb of these boards, I've been fulfilling my duties by reading Light Novels the past couple weeks. 4 volumes of Konosuba so far. The anime is quite a bit better, but the novels are fun. And 2 volumes of Re:Zero. I couldn't say if the anime or the LN are better, but I love them both to death. The anime is faithful and the scenes are brought to life wonderfully with fine voice acting, the LN goes into a bit more detail and gets you better into Subaru's mind, enhancing the highs and lows. 1 "Show me a man who "plays fair" and I'll show you a very talented cheater." I am always amazed at the longevity and popularity of LOTR, Considering when it was first published, it's so hard to imagine such a huge body of work with such epic scope could have been written back then, There was nothing comparable at the time or since then, which could rival it. Nowadays, bookshops are full to brimming with high fantasy novels, coming from the base created by JRRT, as regards GRRM (coincidence initials?), I think I got as far as the fourth book and couldn't finish it. On saying that, I have the Blu-ray versions of all the TV series released so far, waiting for the final season, so I can binge on the whole thing in 2019. I've only watched 2 seasons, but the prolonged wait between seasons really annoying me, so I'm waiting....at least this will be finished as opposed to the novels Edited April 28, 2018 by Fiach Thanks for shopping Pawn-O-Matic!
