Labadal
Eschalon: Book I for free on GOG. https://www.gog.com/game/eschalon_book_i Nothing written about it in news, so I do not know, if it is until the end of time, or temporarily until the end of current sale. And of course, if you buy Numenera on GOG, you get Lords of Xulima for free. The offer is on mainpage and lasts 37 more hours. It's free forever and ever. It's also free on Steam. They also lowered the price of the 2nd and 3rd games. They are celebrating a decade of existence of the studio or if it was the release of the first game. I don't remember. SonicMage117
Saints Row 2 is free for the next 40 hours or so. I got it free on Steam I wasn't able to get on a pc so I added it to my account via Steam phone app Just what do you think you're doing?! You dare to come between me and my prey? Is it a habit of yours to scurry about, getting in the way and causing bother? What are you still bothering me for? I'm a Knight. I'm not interested in your childish games. I need my rest. Begone! Fenixp
Well, this will probably happen. In short, DRM-Free installers for all GOG games will also contain an installer for Galaxy (150 MB large file as of writing this post) and a checkbox that'll allow for easy installation of Galaxy with any game. The checkbox will be enabled by default for each installer. GOG (and at one point even CD Project) has disappointed me over and over with their decisions during the past years and this ... Doesn't really help. I would have never believed they'd go the adware way and I do hope they reconsider in the coming days.
Malcador
Heh, will be a sizeable chunk of the download for some. Zoraptor
They'll probably revert it from opt out to opt in. More horribly tone deaf Good News from the GOG administrative team though. To be fair, I imagine it's being pushed because more Galaxy is what will get more publishers and more new games on board, but their justification as stated is pure lol. To be fair, I imagine it's being pushed because more Galaxy is what will get more publishers and more new games on board, but their justification as stated is pure lol. I don't understand this. You (as a publisher) presumably already have your product on Steam. Why would you want to expand to a platform whose biggest draw is that it is not-Steam, and push for it to be more like Steam? Man, **** GOG and their bundled bloatware, but most of all, **** their bull**** corp-speak rationale and their treating customers like idiots. I'm getting more and more sick of this hobby every day. Guess it's time for me to pick up fishing as befits a cranky old man. - When he is best, he is a little worse than a man, and when he is worst, he is little better than a beast. Bartimaeus
Or just be like me, and only play one new (i.e. recently released) game a year, and instead mostly play older (and cheaper) stuff, whether it's something I've played already or not. Edited May 12, 2017 by Bartimaeus Quote How I have existed fills me with horror. 213374U
I just realized how stupid my question was. The answer is, of course, to reduce as much as possible the amount of control users have over the stuff they pay for, while increasing your own. Regardless, GOG have already backpedaled. Somewhat. I have no doubt they'll keep "iterating" and pushing their not-Steam malware at every possible turn. Because why the **** not?
