Silent Winter Posted October 29, 2015 Posted October 29, 2015 Thanks sp3cw4r! It's my pleasure Finally completed my first pillars portrait minipack! I'd like to continue making more minipacks and eventually bundle them together to create a large portrait pack. <snipped pics for quote size> Download link: http://www.amegani.com/portraits/POEportraits-pack01-amegani.zip Feel free to modify these as needed for personal use. You may post your modified portraits online, all I ask is that if you plan on redistributing the originals please link them from either my tumblr post or my post on deviantart. Each portrait is painted from scratch and takes anywhere from 5 - 12 hours to complete, which adds up pretty quickly. Links back are always appreciated :D Those are fantastic - thanks for sharing 2 _________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ *Casts Nature's Terror* , *Casts Firebug* , *Casts Rot-Skulls* , *Casts Garden of Life* *Spirit-shifts to cat form*
Sannom Posted October 29, 2015 Posted October 29, 2015 Those are very cool Amegani! The only criticism I would have is that the elven lady looks more like a Records of Lodoss War-elf than an Pillars of Eternity-elf (it's the ears!). 1
mosspit Posted October 29, 2015 Posted October 29, 2015 @Amegani Those are gorgeous! You are really talented! 2

Thayllan Posted November 2, 2015 Posted November 2, 2015 This elven lady is a better match for my elf cleric than everything I have ever found! Amazing portraits, Amegani. djphong, was male 41_b drew by Eve Venture? It reminds me a lot of her usual drawings. Nice compilation. I resized some images for my latest playthrough, thought I would share with you guys. The more the merrier! 2
Gairnulf Posted November 9, 2015 Posted November 9, 2015 I just found this while looking at the "Traditionalist Western Art" facebook feed. I searched for the image, but I can't find who the author is. BTW, might be a good idea to look for "andrey shishkin paintings" in Google. Some suitable images come up. 1 A Custom Editor for Deadfire's Data:

I searched for the image, but I can't find who the author is. BTW, might be a good idea to look for "andrey shishkin paintings" in Google. Some suitable images come up. It does appear to be Andrey Shishkin, a modern Russian artist. Can't seem to find the title but here's one of the many places the image is linked and credited to Shishkin: http://alabaster1.tumblr.com/post/52322365447/andrey-shishkin Edited November 9, 2015 by Amentep I cannot - yet I must. How do you calculate that? At what point on the graph do "must" and "cannot" meet? Yet I must - but I cannot! ~ Ro-Man

lilkitsune Posted January 2, 2016 Posted January 2, 2016 Just bought the game not to long ago, a few weeks. So far really enjoying it but I wanted something a little unique for my orlan's so I fiddled with some of the in game portraits. I thought I would share them because I think orlan's need more portraits! (really there needs to be more portraits period, lol) Hearth Female Orlan: For my cipher, just adjusted some of the coloring to reflect my character. Wild Female Orlan: a blending of two of the in game portraits, wanted something a bit different for my wild orlan druid. 6

Eliteseraph Posted January 3, 2016 Posted January 3, 2016 I've got quite a LOT of portraits left over from when I was playing the EE versions of Baldur's Gate 1 & 2, as well as Icewind Dale. I notice quite a few people are posting without crediting the original artist, is that acceptable here? I'm assuming it's bad form. I'd like to post some of my favorites, but I want to be clear on what the rules are first.

Well it is "bad form" but at the same time sometimes crediting the original artist is a lot easier said than done. Long and short of it is you won't get in trouble (with the mods at least) if you don't but no one is certainly going to be anything other than happy if you do.
Eliteseraph Posted January 4, 2016 Posted January 4, 2016 Alright then, here is a cross-section of artists that I really enjoy. Most of these portraits are cropped for the correct portrait dimensions from larger pictures. I tried to stick mostly to pictures that have that Infinity Engine feel to them. Also, while most of the pictures I chose are of females, the artists themselves often have a vast array of different works. I very much recommend you check their linked web galleries. I apologize if I linked too many pictures in a single post but I have HUNDREDS of collected pieces across deviantart and drawcrowd, as well as a handful of pictures that I haven't been able to find the original artist for. It was very difficult to trim it down to just these few. Apologies in advance to people on mobile devices. xD Artists listed in order of appearance, left to right: Apterus (http://drawcrowd.com/apterus) Ng Yong Hui (http://drawcrowd.com/cqlas) Ju Hui (http://drawcrowd.com/peterskore) Ivan Skednev (http://drawcrowd.com/grizscald) TamplierPainter (http://tamplierpainter.deviantart.com/) minghao sun (http://drawcrowd.com/yueliang000911) Jana Schirmer (http://janaschi.deviantart.com) jaggu dada (http://drawcrowd.com/jaggudada) 杨 哲 (http://drawcrowd.com/27951779348cc) Jason Nguyen (http://drawcrowd.com/jasonarts) aditya777 (http://aditya777.deviantart.com) Keunju Kim (http://drawcrowd.com/rabbiteyes) RAMZES (http://drawcrowd.com/ramzes) Steve Argyle (http://steveargule.deviantart.com) Li Chunfu (http://drawcrowd.com/709446733) Jeremy Virty (http://drawcrowd.com/kuru) Young June Choi (http://drawcrowd.com/gpzang) Sun Haiyang (http://drawcrowd.com/shy) Ber Yaourt (http://drawcrowd.com/beryaourt) Rob Shields (http://robshields.deviantart.com) Although I prefer to find original artwork, another really good tool I've found, if I need to make a custom portrait that matches my character more closely, is to fire up any number of F2P MMORPGs and use their character creators. EVE online, Guildwars 2, and TERA have pretty detailed character generators with LOTS of sliders, but any number of games out there might have the style of character you're looking to create. 1
Halfwise Posted January 9, 2016 Posted January 9, 2016 A couple more "subtle" alterations for a female Deathlike. Based on: http://pre04.deviantart.net/f80f/th/pre/f/2014/024/3/9/necrotic_lissandra_by_dreamphaser-d73jzoh.jpg And Based on the original found in the game folder. Basically, i wanted Deathlike that looked more like they were a little unnerving, less like zombies with their skin shleffing off. 3
Halfwise Posted January 10, 2016 Posted January 10, 2016 Two more portrait tweaks. One was a fire godlike from the game, the other was an old custom portrait for Baldur's Gate. The first one, the adjustments are obvious. The latter, I tried to subtly alter some facial features, not just un-pinking the robe. Hard to make it less blurry without it looking too "real".... 1
Halfwise Posted January 10, 2016 Posted January 10, 2016 I think last one for the time being. Hopefully, this one doesn't look too "Cut and Paste"-y... Female Nature Godlike. Why this one? Frogs are cool. Based On: http://www.deviantart.com/art/The-Frog-Princess-124656691 4
Eliteseraph Posted January 10, 2016 Posted January 10, 2016 I would only point out that it appears like the horns are coming out of different parts of the head. Maybe it's just me though....
Halfwise Posted January 11, 2016 Posted January 11, 2016 You are probably right. I took the horns from "male_godlike_nature_b_lg" and the heads are at slightly different angles. Additionally, they are supposed to come out of the forehead, but that seemed like it would be a little awkward in that picture. Hmm, now that I look closely at it, I think I set the horns correctly, but when i layered the hair back over it to hide the seams, it kinda screwed up where it looks like its "attached". I actually don't know all that much about picture alterations, I've mostly just been winging it.
Elsbeth Lamentia Posted February 5, 2016 Posted February 5, 2016 I think that portraits from "Might and Magic Heroes VII" look pretty well for PoE. I tried to redact them so they could be more PoE style like and lore-friendly so here there are (human and pale elf) 5
Ineth Posted February 9, 2016 Posted February 9, 2016 So many nice portraits ITT... @Elsbeth Lamentia, those two would benefit from cranking up gamma/contrast some more. 1 "Some ideas are so stupid that only an intellectual could believe them." -- attributed to George Orwell
Baron Pampa Posted February 10, 2016 Posted February 10, 2016 (edited) Nobody mentioned portraits from "Paint Baldur's Gate". http://www.shsforums.net/topic/55677-paintbg-introduction-and-samples/ Edited February 10, 2016 by Baron Pampa
