JayDGee Posted January 5, 2014 Posted January 5, 2014 Is it possible to discuss a game like the Stanley Parable without spoiling it. I loved it. I recommend everyone try it, or at very least the demo (which is a different experience to the game but has the same feel) That's about as much as I think I could say without ruining the experience. None of this is really happening. There is a man. With a typewriter. This is all part of his crazy imagination.
Rosbjerg Posted January 5, 2014 Posted January 5, 2014 I think spoiler's are a given, but it's not really a game experience you can spoil in the traditional sense... I don't think I would feel like you spoiled it if you told me about the museum before I saw it for instance. Fortune favors the bald.
BruceVC Posted January 5, 2014 Posted January 5, 2014 I haven't played Stanley yet but I intend to so I wouldn't spend time on this thread in case someone let something slip around the story "Abashed the devil stood and felt how awful goodness is and saw Virtue in her shape how lovely: and pined his loss” John Milton "We don't stop playing because we grow old; we grow old because we stop playing.” - George Bernard Shaw "What counts in life is not the mere fact that we have lived. It is what difference we have made to the lives of others that will determine the significance of the life we lead" - Nelson Mandela
HoonDing Posted January 5, 2014 Posted January 5, 2014 Developed by Dr Livingstone, I presume? The ending of the words is ALMSIVI.
Gromnir Posted January 5, 2014 Posted January 5, 2014 am thinking that the developer's less than profound divulgement were more appropriate to a blog entry or a long-winded post on a fora such as this. to makes an entire pc game wherein the player is 'posed to share in the Epiphany/joke strikes Gromnir as, at best, self-indulgent. HA! Good Fun! samm Posted January 6, 2014 Posted January 6, 2014 Played the demo and the best thing was the very beginning. Was really laughing about myself Afterwards it became somewhat shallow for what it apparently intended, so I steered clear of the full release. Tale Posted January 6, 2014 Posted January 6, 2014 Loved the original mod, loved the new game. I do wish he had managed to incorporate some sort of mechanic, be it puzzle, or hidden items, just to enhance the replayability. I valued my time with it, but it's one of few games I look at and can say unequivocally that my time is done. I have no reason to go back. "Show me a man who "plays fair" and I'll show you a very talented cheater."
alanschu Posted January 6, 2014 Posted January 6, 2014 Yeah that's the way it is with that game, but I still loved it none the less and definitely felt I got my money's worth.
Gorgon Posted January 6, 2014 Posted January 6, 2014 You get tired of the gameplay, but it\s really funny having all those cliches thrown at you. It\s one huge postmodernist insider joke about gameplay and mechanics/development. Na na na na na na ... greg358 from Darksouls 3 PVP is a CHEATER. That is all.

HA! Good Fun! Whereas posting everything in unreadable affected English isn't. "It wasn't lies. It was just... bull****"." -Elwood Blues tarna's dead; processing... complete. HA! Good Fun! Whereas posting everything in unreadable affected English isn't. see, this is where we always gets confused-- being "ironic" and "butt-hurt" shouldn't be difficult to distinguish, yes? oh, and is you trying to one-up vol in the category o' Poster-Most-Likely Inspire-WTF? this message board wherein you post your intended pith IS a "fora such as this." duh. doesn't vol finish post with "lolz" or "roofles"? if you don't get details right, people won't get the joke and they will assume that you is an idiot. Gromnir Posted January 13, 2014 Posted January 13, 2014 You.... you mean, when volo finishes all his posts with roofles, that makes people not think he is an idiot? nope, but if you don't add the "roofles," people will miss the joke that you is mocking vol... they will think that the idiocy in your posts is the result o' stoopidity as 'posed to parody. alanschu Posted January 15, 2014 Posted January 15, 2014 You.... you mean, when volo finishes all his posts with roofles, that makes people not think he is an idiot? I notice he has taken to bolding his text now. Don't see as much roofles as I once did.
