September 19, 201213 yr ...or Steam you choose. The publisher-free revolution continues, comrades!!! Thanks Obz.
September 19, 201213 yr good news for all DRM haters out there. The words freedom and liberty, are diminishing the true meaning of the abstract concept they try to explain. The true nature of freedom is such, that the human mind is unable to comprehend it, so we make a cage and name it freedom in order to give a tangible meaning to what we dont understand, just as our ancestors made gods like Thor or Zeus to explain thunder. -Teknoman2- What? You thought it was a quote from some well known wise guy from the past? Stupidity leads to willful ignorance - willful ignorance leads to hope - hope leads to sex - and that is how a new generation of fools is born! We are hardcore role players... When we go to bed with a girl, we roll a D20 to see if we hit the target and a D6 to see how much penetration damage we did. Modern democracy is: the sheep voting for which dog will be the shepherd's right hand.
September 19, 201213 yr Author Also $140.00 CE gets you beta access. Evil Obz have just got me there, and am upping my pledge accordingly.
September 19, 201213 yr This and the Beta access just made me up my pledge. Very good news indeed. Perkele, tiädäksää tuanoini!"It's easier to tolerate idiots if you do not consider them as stupid people, but exceptionally gifted monkeys."
September 19, 201213 yr That this was ever a question is baffeling. Like, the majority of past gaming kickstarters started with a unclear DRM situation till they got confirmation from some other service than steam and then had DRM free options.
September 19, 201213 yr Great news. GOG.com has a very strong following of classic RPG fans, so I think Obsidian definitely made the right call.
September 19, 201213 yr Getting Beta access makes me jump around with glee. "My hovercraft is full of eels!" - Hungarian tourist I am Dan Quayle of the Romans. I want to tattoo a map of the Netherlands on my nether lands. Heja Sverige!! Everyone should cuffawkle more. The wrench is your friend.

Like, the majority of past gaming kickstarters started with a unclear DRM situation till they got confirmation from some other service than steam and then had DRM free options. Maybe it was an insidious marketing scheme. Good news make people happy, happy people pay more. September 19, 201213 yr Kudos to Obsidian both for bettering their Kickstarter offer *and* for bettering their Kickstarter communication. They have the campaign on the right track.
September 19, 201213 yr Author Hmmm I must continue my analysis of Kickstarter spikes as this excellent news percolates through the gamersphere.
September 19, 201213 yr Man, decisions... decisions. I <3 steam and get p. much all my PC games from there but the benefits of the GOG version (such as not being forced to play on the current version) have a lot of merits as well. Edited September 19, 201213 yr by Syraxis
September 19, 201213 yr Well that's good news. Also Monte, that signature image is way too large Edited September 19, 201213 yr by Malcador Why has elegance found so little following? Elegance has the disadvantage that hard work is needed to achieve it and a good education to appreciate it. - Edsger Wybe Dijkstra
September 19, 201213 yr good news for all DRM haters out there. GOG >>>>>>> Steam. No contest. If you ask me, Steam is an outdated client, a relic of the past, in which screwing over paying customers was a norm. Feel free to continue using Steam of course, but I won't be supporting Gaben's walled DRM garden anymore now that there's a viable alternative. I will support pro-consumer solutions like GOG. Thank you Obsidian & GOG! Edited September 19, 201213 yr by Phinelete

September 19, 201213 yr Why would you guys want beta access for a game like this anyway? Hurray I get to play the game in a bug filled state and spoil myself on all the story aspects before release!
September 19, 201213 yr <3 Obsidian <3 GoG me happy! Grandiose statements, cryptic warnings, blind fanboyisim and an opinion that leaves no room for argument and will never be dissuaded. Welcome to the forums, you'll go far in this place my boy, you'll go far! The people who are a part of the "Fallout Community" have been refined and distilled over time into glittering gems of hatred.
September 19, 201213 yr Why would you guys want beta access for a game like this anyway? Hurray I get to play the game in a bug filled state and spoil myself on all the story aspects before release! I will probably replay the game 800 times anyway. Grandiose statements, cryptic warnings, blind fanboyisim and an opinion that leaves no room for argument and will never be dissuaded. September 19, 201213 yr Sorry for being OT guys, but just wanted to say... that's a little steep Wasteland 2 offers beta for $55 backers That's what I said. But I figure this will be a more popular title so raising the beta access required amount limits the field a bit (and it makes them more money ...) But yes I do miss ~35-50 beta access Edited September 19, 201213 yr by Sensuki

Hurray I get to play the game in a bug filled state and spoil myself on all the story aspects before release! 2014 is a long time. Who knows if I'll still be alive. This is the first time (well, Wasteland 2 is for me) that many of us are paying for a game that's more than a year away. So I think beta will serve as a stop gap I guess.
