Monte Carlo Posted September 17, 2012 Posted September 17, 2012 So, come October, what will the total be...?
mrmud Posted September 17, 2012 Posted September 17, 2012 Sorry for all of you wishing for 5-6. Comparing the tracking with Wasteland 2 it seems we are heading for 3.5 maybe 4 if we are lucky. Not that this is bad mind you, but 5-6 seems incredibly unlikely.
Troller Posted September 17, 2012 Posted September 17, 2012 I sure as hell want this to be 20 million, but shamefully the kind of game they want to make isn't Call of Duty Halo Wars
mrmud Posted September 17, 2012 Posted September 17, 2012 Weird, it said 1 vote for 3-4 (which I assumed was mine) and 2 for 5-6
Luckmann Posted September 17, 2012 Posted September 17, 2012 While I am hoping for 5mil, I nontheless maintain a healthy dose of realism and expect ~3mil.
Sensuki Posted September 17, 2012 Posted September 17, 2012 The lack of the $20 tier is going to slow things down a bit I think.
Enoch Posted September 17, 2012 Posted September 17, 2012 All I know is that the cash they rake in should not be weightless!
Any_ILL Posted September 17, 2012 Posted September 17, 2012 Apparently I'm more skeptic than the average guy (you should have add the 1-2M option too, I know it's not likely but that's just our opinion...), I believe it will reach the 2.2M bar (I certainly hope so!!) but not the 3M one.
GhostofAnakin Posted September 17, 2012 Posted September 17, 2012 I'm going to be conservative (pessimistic) and say between $2 million and $3 million. "Console exclusive is such a harsh word." - Darque"Console exclusive is two words Darque." - Nartwak (in response to Darque's observation)
Hornet85 Posted September 17, 2012 Posted September 17, 2012 3 to 4 mil is my guess Of course above 6 will be great, but its difficult.
dlux Posted September 17, 2012 Posted September 17, 2012 I say between 3 and 4 million... but you never know - if Obsidian can hype this game enough, then we could even hit 6 million or more.
Blarghagh Posted September 17, 2012 Posted September 17, 2012 If Obs doesn't start putting the Stretch Goals on the main page where everyone can see them instead of behind a single sentence link, I'm not sure if it's going to break 2 million. 1
Darkpriest Posted September 17, 2012 Posted September 17, 2012 (edited) It really depends on how much hype this will get in the internet media and on different forums. Do also remember that for now, none of the highly expected and highly funded projects was released, so people are still reluctant to put their money up front on Kickstarter. The future of such projects basically hangs on these titles like Wasteland 2 and Project Eternity. The cash inflow will most likely drop after the first two weeks, but it should make around 3mln by the end of the target date 4 is doubtful and 5+ is highly unlikely... Oh, I am sure that it will hit 2 million, but it would definitely help to create some nice graphics that make the stretch goals more attractive. 1
HansKrSG Posted September 17, 2012 Posted September 17, 2012 Seems to me that they have been going at about 100-150K each day after hitting the goal (not many days to make an average, I know), so if that continues they could reach 3-4,5 millions more (ending at approx. 4,5-6 millions). Even if it slows down to 50k a day, they would get 1,5 millions more ending at approx. 3 millions.
ET3D Posted September 17, 2012 Posted September 17, 2012 Definitely more than $1.5M. I think it's a little early to tell, but I'd say $3-4M based on the comparison with Wasteland 2 and Double Fine. I'd say it has the potential to go over $4M, but that would depend on how strongly it continues. The stretch goals so far give a good incentive to push forward, IMO.
FreezingShock Posted September 17, 2012 Posted September 17, 2012 (edited) I'm a pessimist, so I can't help but think we'll end up with 2 to 3 million at most. I really want it to be more, though, so I voted for 3 to 4 million regardless. Sometimes, you just have to believe! Edited September 17, 2012 by FreezingShock
BSoda Posted September 17, 2012 Posted September 17, 2012 I think it'll barely scratch 3 Million (wouldn't mind more, of course). Most kickstarter projects really wind down a lot after they meet their base goal and PE seems to fit the bill nicely so far.
Vatdim Posted September 17, 2012 Posted September 17, 2012 I voted 2-3M. To be on the safe side, I'd say it'll definitely reach 1.8M, and probably, pretty soon. After that, however, I don't see it moving as quickly. It may as well do that, but not without Obsidian's help. What I mean is, people will need more information about this project in order to bring their pledges up. More articles and interviews in the gaming media will surely help in this regard. Better managed rewards could also bring up more support. Also, a stretch goal including the addition of legendary or well respected designers/writers/composers will almost certainly lead to an immediate and significant rise in pledges.

RaccoonTOF Posted October 17, 2012 Posted October 17, 2012 And in the end noone was correct...because there was no option for "Between 4 and 5"... "If we are alone in the universe, it sure seems like an awful waste of space"
septembervirgin Posted October 17, 2012 Posted October 17, 2012 Between 4 and 5? I WIN!!!! "This is what most people do not understand about Colbert and Silverman. They only mock fictional celebrities, celebrities who destroy their selfhood to unify with the wants of the people, celebrities who are transfixed by the evil hungers of the public. Feed us a Gomorrah built up of luminous dreams, we beg. Here it is, they say, and it looks like your steaming brains." " If you've read Hart's Hope, Neveryona, Infinity Concerto, Tales of the Flat Earth, you've pretty much played Dragon Age."
