GreasyDogMeat
Almost 20 years since Doom and id is stil making the same game. I got bored about halfway through the trailer so maybe it gets better. However unlikely it may seem. Because its fun. Bioware has been making the same game for the past 15 years too yet we seem to keep buying it, even when it is massively flawed compared to their normal efforts (DA2). At least Rage looks like one of their most polished games to date. The setting looks pretty awesome too.
entrerix
i liked brotherhood, but am really not happy about playing as ezio again. i feel like its time to move on. I was really hoping for revolutionary france, preferably with a female main character this time, just to shake things up. Killing is kind of like playin' a basketball game. I am there. and the other player is there. and it's just the two of us. and I put the other player's body in my van. and I am the winner. - Nice Pete. Raithe
Although it would be nice to jump along to another major point in history and a new character... I do have to say Constantinople around that time frame could make quite an interesting setting. Although shame of it is it'll be post-crusade sacking.. but still.. entrerix
a next gen AC game is one of the biggest things im looking forward to about the next gen consoles. I'm ready to see what they can do with WAY more horsepower. Killing is kind of like playin' a basketball game. I am there. and the other player is there. and it's just the two of us. and I put the other player's body in my van. and I am the winner. - Nice Pete. GreasyDogMeat
Another L.A. Noire video. Sounds like they put a lot of effort in making it look and feel like 1947. I love Rockstar's recent focus on really making it feel like you have stepped into another time or place. Yeah, I know this isn't a Rockstar game, but I can see why Rockstar would want to publish this game. My biggest fear about L.A. Noire is that it is essentially a $60 movie. Then again one of the achievements/trophies for the game is to shoot 100 bad guys. Many people are mistaking this game as a Rockstar game though I can see why. You look at the box art for the game and it has Rockstar's name & logo but no mention of team Bondi. Marketing the game as a Rockstar game is actually a smart move as Rockstar's name is gold right now after GTA IV & Red Dead.
entrerix
yeah but could lead to major disappointment if the game doesnt hold up to those very high standards, particularly the standard set by red dead. Yeah, lots of animated textures... Think 2D animation on 3D meshes... Texture data is expensive. I came up with Crate 3.0 technology. Malcador
TA, MOO 50% off at GOG Worth giving these a look if you haven't. And they're even cheaper now. Why has elegance found so little following? Elegance has the disadvantage that hard work is needed to achieve it and a good education to appreciate it. - Edsger Wybe Dijkstra

That's actual mesh that is moving. I never mentioned gifs. Its actually a combination, and its captured from the actors. Its a moving mesh, ala Mass Effect for example, coupled with streamed texturesm using tech from http://depthanalysis.com/ I believe. That's what I heard anyways... Point being is its not all mesh data, there are texture elements too. Edited May 6, 2011 by Nightshape I came up with Crate 3.0 technology. Mamoulian War
lulz... to tired from working today, so probably i lost my english speaking/writing skills... Sooo Programmer if he does not sucks, has really easy time to get a new job in EE... Because always more jobs available than educated people for these jobs. And I do not have any information, if the same applies into Computer Aided Graphical Design jobs in EE... So my conclusion would be that these Crytek guys would more or likely get new jobs within few weeks, if they do not care if they stay in Gaming Industry or not...
