Calax
WoW Cataclysm sells 3,3 million units in 24 hours That darn thing just won't die. Do people really think Blizzard will make expansion packs for eternity? Actually, a few weeks ago somebody released the current blizz tentative schedule which already has 2 more expansions attached to it. However, as the bottom of the slate states, nobody is quite sure how true that is. Edited December 13, 2010 by Calax Victor of the 5 year fan fic competition! Kevin Butler will awesome your face off. deleteduser
I haven't tried healing yet, but facerolling is still 100% viable as a Retadin (I say this in the context of not having played in about 8 months). I like how they've simplified things, added a lot more procs and whatnot, but I wish they hadn't renamed all my talents and switched icons around and whatnot... Trading in my raid epics for greens fills me with pain every time. :'( I feel a disturbance in the force. It's as though a hundred devs simultaneously facepalmed, and then fell silent bc the nda is still in place. twitter

Trading in my raid epics for greens fills me with pain every time. :'( I was running at the top tier of raid content (Killing arthas in Icecrown Citadel) and I traded my gear in... for blues at level 83 and greens at 84. It made me cry. Gotta say, the worgen starting zone is fantastic, atmospheric and well put together... it's just that immediately after it finishes, you're kicked into a stump in the middle of darnassus with a simple "go to darkshore" quest while your leader goes to the other side of the world. Kiiinda frustrating. I've been farming my touchas off to get set to raid and I'm basically there, just need some bracers and I'm off to the raiding once my friends hit the proper gear point (which should be soon given just how much farming and gearing is going on). Tale
The new old world content combined with faster levelling has given me an alt problem. I rolled a human yesterday. I'm going to do a troll today. A Gnome Thursday. Undead on Friday. Guess the class. The plan is to play the lowest level alt each day of the week, then the 80+ main on weekends. Up until 60, then the Worgen goes on to Outland and Northrend alone. Because I never saw that from the Alliance side. Let's see if I stick to it. TheHarlequin
So for the WoW players.. was the hype worth it? did it meet expectations? World of Darkness News http://www.wodnews.net --- "I cannot profess to be a theologian; but it seems to me that Christians who believe in a super human Satan have got themselves into a logical impasse with regard to their own religion. For either God can not prevent the mischief of Satan, in which case he is not omnipotent; or else He could do so if he wished, but will not, in which case He is not benevolent. Oblarg
So for the WoW players.. was the hype worth it? did it meet expectations? No clue, didn't buy it, and I don't intend to. The horrid customer support and broken blizzard store was enough to convince me that they don't deserve my money, no matter how good the product is. Calax
So for the WoW players.. was the hype worth it? did it meet expectations? I think so. Although the sense of this being an expansion is a bit removed due to the fact that a lot of the new content was actually old revamped stuff that your favorite characters can't play through. The new designs are AMAZING with cohesive storylines running through several zones etc. There have been problems cropping up but you can't make a perfect game. Overall it's VERY well put together. Humanoid
I've been playing a new character on a new account when they had that $5 deal a few weeks back - my old characters have too much baggage so I've put them on ice. It's probably safe to say it's probably the closest an MMO will ever get to a decent single player CRPG experience - and better than most single player action-RPGs in that sense. Will I continue on to play Cataclysm proper? I don't know yet, still quite burnt out by WoTLK raiding. L I E S T R O N GL I V E W R O N G
Tale
So for the WoW players.. was the hype worth it? did it meet expectations? Ehh, I didn't really have any expectations. But I'm not a regular WoW player. I haven't played in over a year before this. The old world revamp is simply incredible. It's like Wrath questing, but everywhere. Which is why I'm determined to see every last bit of it. And I've barely touched actual expansion content. Worgen are cool. I love that they don't need a mount. Goblins are fantastic, best starter stuff in the entire game, being able to call the bank out in the field is immensely useful. I don't know, it sounds like TOR wants to have a strong single player experience as well, and if Cata and TOR both do well you'll probably see more attempts at strong solo experiences in MMO games. Thing about cata is they removed a lot of the "elite" quests because they realized that after the initial leveling is complete, not a single person will end up doing the quest except under extreme circumstances. Usually they replaced the other players with a brace of NPC's that act like a hunter or death knights pets rather than just some random bum wandering around. However, everything at the end of the game still remains as group centric (raids and whatnot). Victor of the 5 year fan fic competition! Kevin Butler will awesome your face off. Vilhelm
The new expansion pack is fantastic. It's a bit of a shame the additional high level content wasn't as substantial as the Burning Crusade and Wrath of the Lich King, but seeing they pretty muched changed everything the level 1-60 (especially 1-40) I cannot say I'm disappointed. In fact, I'm only disappointed over how dated The Burning Crusade content feels. I hit Outlands a couple of days ago and it just doesn't live up to the rest of the game, it's like hitting a brick wall, especially thanks to the two-three man quests which can be quite challenging when soloing. Malcador
So for the WoW players.. was the hype worth it? did it meet expectations? Nope. Why has elegance found so little following? Calax
One of the biggest things that I miss is the sense of cohesiveness in the new zones. The zones honestly, are very modular due to their self contained lines.... unlike before where the only real direction you got was a sort of "go visit this guy" and a new quest hub opened, the quests send you over to the new place and you can only pick up X number of quests because of the way that they phased things. And it made it feel like there was a transition between zones. I've only found one such transition in Cata's 85 zones and that's between deepholm and Uldum (or the elemental plane of earth, and the land of indiana jones references) Victor of the 5 year fan fic competition! Calax
That's in the goblin start this is a guitarist, riding a t-rex who's using a gun, mounted on a turtle.
