Bend, Oregon... Bloody hick town!

I came up with Crate 3.0 technology.

Crate 4.0 - we shall just have to wait and see.

Down and out on the Solomani Rim
Now the Spinward Marches don't look so GRIM!

:) And I really didn't think we'd ever see a return of this franchise :o

(Or could it be for some sort of re-release...?)

I donno... reminds me of the fact that they keep spitting out DragonBall Z games even though the show has been off the air for about 5-6 years now.

I would just say, they are either aiming for PSN classic rerelease in these regions or they are planning DS remake...

I'd actually like a re-release or remake (although, to be fair, I can still play my PS1 copy).

Given that the article says they trademarked "Let Us Cling Together", it makes me think a re-release or remake would be in the offing.

I cannot - yet I must. How do you calculate that? At what point on the graph do "must" and "cannot" meet? Yet I must - but I cannot! ~ Ro-Man

EA confirms DA 2. Who would of thunk it?

Hopefully without darkspawns.

But you know, then they would go away from their canon, and many of the fans of great evil darkness in their games would get heart attack ;)

Huh? It would be perfectly canon. The Blight has been stopped. Darkspawn returned to the Deep Roads.

Now we can focus on things that don't have a design ripped off directly from the LotR movie and D&D. ;)

I know, but that is just wishful thinking :)

I bet we get something like Darkspawn Mk. II :) or more like Mk. X if we count all the dark spawns/presences/evils in all previous Bio games :p

Uh, wasn't it basically already confirmed earlier this year in a financial conference call? "New Dragon Age came early 2011"? Now the announcement is that it's, shock and awe, going to be called Dragon Age 2? :p

Shadows of Orlais? The Throne of the Maker? :p

You're a cheery wee bugger, Nep. Have I ever said that?

2011, seriously? So I can guess one can expect the same **** engine, horrible textures and meh combat system.

I think people thought another expansion, not sequel.

Huh? It would be perfectly canon. The Blight has been stopped. Darkspawn returned to the Deep Roads.

While that would be my preference, I doubt it.

Graphically probably it will be similar (though not in the same 'almost the same' way Mass effect 2 was compared to Mass Effect) but as far as gameplay BioWare has shown that they're not shy of changing things even radically based on fan feedback, just watch Mass Effect 2.

EA has been very clear on the fact that they want Bioware game sequel once per 2 years. They spend big bucks to buy 'em and want a full benefit of Bioware brands like Mass Effect and Dragon Age. This console generation might last up untill 2015 so there's plenty of time for at least 3 more Dragon Age games with the same horribly and fugly engine :p

GI August Cover: Dragon Age 2

gami_208_cov_front.jpg

Last year, BioWare and EA introduced gamers to a vast new fantasy world with Dragon Age: Origins. Now, after an expansion and plenty of DLC, the renowned RPG developer is ready to unveil the next chapter in the Dragon Age saga. Dragon Age II is a full-fledged sequel, featuring a new hero, a different part of the world, and a ton of surprising improvements that will shed even more light on the lore of the Dragon Age universe. You can learn all the details in our exclusive 10-page cover story in issue 208.

This issue also includes our annual E3 blowout; we run through (and grade) the major press conferences, get hands-on time with the Nintendo 3DS, and rank the 50 hottest games that were on the show floor. You can expect to find extensive impressions on titles like Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword, Portal 2, Call of Duty: Black Ops, and many more.

While you wait for your issue, you can check out the full cover spread below.
