Malcador
Hm, new Hitman is always good news. This time, it'll have a cover system, takedowns, hm what else? Why has elegance found so little following? Elegance has the disadvantage that hard work is needed to achieve it and a good education to appreciate it. - Edsger Wybe Dijkstra
Oner
Um, it always had takedowns. Malcador
Did it ? Blood Money had punching, shoving, but never anything fancier than that with just hands, didn't play Contracts, but SA and Codename 47 didn't have much along those lines. Never did figure out how to get the neck-breaking move with the fiber wire working consistently, thinking about it. Edited July 21, 2010 by Malcador Why has elegance found so little following? Purkake
Piano wire wasn't that hard to use and you could do takedowns by punching people from behind, at least in Blood Money.

Volourn
"Gygax himself created the drow, Ed Greenwood fleshed them out. Salvatore only created Drizzt, the first 'good' Drow." He did more than that. Before Salvatore, drow were really nothing than another monster for players to kill. Even taking award the modern take on racism, drow society and the way the houses do business was pretty darn good. Let's also not forget that Salvatore's not so subtle infleunce can be found in games such as IWD. In many ways, Salvatore can be given credit for the popularity of drow as well as the backlash to said popularity where Drizzt is seen as unoriginal when he's anything but. Mamoulian War
Right after iTunes gets one... You know that iTunes sells non-DRMed stuff which can be obtained by any other legal means??? I am yet to see games that require Steamworks authentification, to be available by any other legal means... And this could be looked at as undermining the competition in Digital Distribution market Sent from my Stone Tablet, using Chisel-a-Talk 2000BC. Purkake
You're still restricted to iTunes if you have an iPod/iPhone, the DRM-d music was never a monopoly issue. It's funny to see you guys complain about Steamworks while GAF rejoices that they can buy the retail collectors edition and then add the game to Steam as well. As for Steam's monopoly, I'm sure one of the numerous law people here can help us with that Seeing as Apple is ignored by the EU because of their relatively small market share, wouldn't the same situation apply to PC gaming's relatively small market share compared to consoles? That does not change the fact, that making deals with publishers, that the game can be available only through Steamworks, could be in some circumstances viewed as very shady endeavour, which destroys Digital Distribution competition in the global EU market... iPhone market share is in no way relatively small market share... But in this case the better comparison would be iTunes and iPhone vs Xbox and Xbox live and PS3 and PSN... Comparing PC gaming to console in this case is non-sense, because other Digital Distribution companies sells their products only for PCs and not for consoles... Purkake
Sure, but I doubt it's big enough for the EU Competition Commission to care about. Plus, the EU market isn't exactly "global"
Mamoulian War
EU market is global market for countries which form the EU 27 countries is enough to be considered more than just a local market... And EU did not cared about IE monopoly either until Opera demanded from EC to take the actions... In this case EU will not care until some pissed off customer (very unlikely) or some pissed off Digital Distribution company, which is losing their marketshare on PC software sales, because of these shady dealings (more likely) will write an official letter of complaint to the EC Edited July 21, 2010 by Mamoulian War Sent from my Stone Tablet, using Chisel-a-Talk 2000BC.
