Killian Kalthorne Posted April 8, 2010 Posted April 8, 2010 Unlike me. I love ME1. ME2 is good, but no ME1. "Your Job is not to die for your country, but set a man on fire, and take great comfort in the general hostility and unfairness of the universe."
Rosbjerg Posted April 8, 2010 Posted April 8, 2010 I've been playing Assassins Creed II, I have a big problem with the DRM, but I had to support the game because I really like the story and the effort they've put in to the game - which is a tendency I really want to take a hold in PC gaming. Fortune favors the bald.
Calax Posted April 8, 2010 Posted April 8, 2010 Been playing borderlands between bouts of FFXIII. It's... addicting Victor of the 5 year fan fic competition! Kevin Butler will awesome your face off.

Deadly_Nightshade Posted April 8, 2010 Posted April 8, 2010 I just finished Mass Effect 2 again, it's really quite a good game - far from perfect but definitely worth playing. "Geez. It's... addicting It certainly is, I've tried it on my roommates computer for a few hours - great fun. Albiet a bit repetative and MMO-ish. It is, but not so MMOish that it's inaccessable to your average gamer, and it's FANTASTIC when played with friends to share the hilarity (like when you smash their car so it ends up on its nose against a cliff). RPGmasterBoo Posted April 8, 2010 Posted April 8, 2010 When you wake up under the table in a internet cafe after 48h of non stop playing, you might want to consider other possibilities Started playing The Witcher Enhanced Edition again since apparantly you can import save to TW2 when it comes out and I don't have saves from the main campaign anymore. It won't be long in coming.... Though I'm a sore loser - which keeps me from playing 10 games in a row (unless I'm on a winning streak). After extensive playing (about a hundred matches, ranked in the silver league) I can vouch that the multiplayer component alone makes SCII worth purchasing. I was never really a competitive online sort of player until I got this accursed beta. The only thing I can't forgive Blizzard is for utilizing the Warcraft III graphical style (though toned down from that horrid mess of colors). There's a certain element of slapstick comedy in the way the units move, courtesy of WCIII animation style. On the other hand the engine will be nice to look at a few years from now, something games like World in Conflict and others with "realistic" graphics can't clam. Also it can handle obscene amounts of units on screen at the same time. As for actual strategy, hard counters are quite prevalent. To really beat unit Z you need unit X and so on, mostly centered around the principal tier 1.5 units: Marauders, Roaches and Stalkers/Immortals. They're kinda pushing the staple units (Marine, Zealot and Zergling) into disuse because they're available only a few minutes after those but more powerful than them at the same time. Blizzard will probably nerf them more in the upcoming patches. On a more positive note, race specifics have really been even more emphasized. Terrans can bunker even better, the Zerg can mass armies at insane speeds (and on creep they move blindingly fast) and the Protoss are even more high tech. On the other hand I have mixed feelings about the new units. The original Starcraft universe was more visually and thematically cohesive in my opinion. Anime mecha units like the Viking and Thor, and the futuristic Raven's look a bit out of place with the rugged and clunky redneck Terrans. The Zerg banelings and roaches look a bit too amusing for my tastes, and the Protoss Colossi and Mothership look more mundane than alien. The fact of the matter is that more than a decade has passed and having SCII at least share a resemblance with its predecessor in this day and age should probably be taken as a blessing *cough* yes, CnC4 I'm looking at you *cough*. Take what you can get. Overall, I had my doubts, but as far as I'm concerned - its a day 1 purchase. Imperium Thought for the Day: Even a man who has nothing can still offer his life
