WorstUsernameEver
Will this game even be a RPG? The 1999 WOT game was a great action game, almost a shooter. Maybe this game will be its sequel? I doubt Obsidian would be hired to work on an action/shooter game, it's not their area of expertise and there a LOT of small devs that would be more suited. I doubt Obsidian would be hired to work on an action/shooter game, it's not their area of expertise and there a LOT of small devs that would be more suited. With the lines between shooter and rpg blurring constantly (Mass Effects, Wolfenstein, some others I'm forgetting on the shooter side, probably Alpha Protocol, as well) I don't think this is a viable distinction any longer. You're a cheery wee bugger, Nep. Have I ever said that? Reapercussions
Purkake
Personally, I hope the Wheel of Time game will involve minimal shooting, I think Heretic did that pretty well already.

funcroc
Red Eagle Games interview is up. ...To ensure that we can deliver games of the highest quality and creative value, we have enlisted the support of Obsidian Entertainment, an accomplished video game developer. Obsidian will supplement our internal development team and they give us the benefit of their considerable experience in making top-selling role-playing games... ...And finally, we have engaged the services of a talented Hollywood screenwriter, Chris Morgan, who has come on board as our Story Director. Chris will use his proven story-telling skills and deep understanding of the Wheel of Time universe to ensure that our game characters and storylines really come alive... ...With that said, I would like to give you an overview of our current product plan. We intend to begin by releasing a series of images and multi-media Edited June 1, 2010 by funcroc
Morgoth
That seems kinda a waste of time and talent for Obsidian, but I guess they're in need of the money. Rain makes everything better.
HoonDing
"Hollywood screenwriter"... "deep understanding of the Wheel of Time universe". FFFUUUUUUUU Anyway, if Sanderson & Jordan's widow are involved, it should be okay. Edited June 1, 2010 by virumor The ending of the words is ALMSIVI. WorstUsernameEver
That seems kinda a waste of time and talent for Obsidian, but I guess they're in need of the money. I just hope the team working on this project is small. I mean, Obsidian doesn't have that many employees, and honestly, my opinion is that they should work two game at a time max, with maybe a small team dedicated to patching. Ok, honestly, an opinion on management that comes from a gamer shouldn't be taken seriously.. still...

HoonDing
You can't blame these Red Eagle Entertainment for lack of ambition. They're even planning a MMO... considering the world-wide enormous popularity of Wheel of Time, it might even be the long-awaited WoW-killer. The ending of the words is ALMSIVI. Gromnir
Avellone himself called this a 'half project' for Obsidian... they don't even consider this their own game. What a waste of time and talent then. not necessarily a waste. maybe working on wot gave the developers something to do when they were not actually fixing ap. HA! Good Fun! I think you're giving gamers too much credit - a lot of them won't even read the quest descriptions in WoW, let alone books.

Ambition is one thing, but actually delivering an actual product is completely different thing. They've been sitting on the rights for many years now. According to some people as long as 5 years and they've got pretty much nothing to show. Robert Jordan himself disliked REE guys which has me somewhat worried. Hate the living, love the dead.
