Malcador
There was misogyny ? Why has elegance found so little following? Elegance has the disadvantage that hard work is needed to achieve it and a good education to appreciate it. - Edsger Wybe Dijkstra
Slowtrain
I'm just hoping it doesn't end up Americanized for the sake of revenue. What do you mean with "Americanized"? Watered down. Like the beer, the coffee, the porn. Notice how I can belittle your beliefs without calling you names. It's a useful skill to have particularly where you aren't allowed to call people names. It's a mistake to get too drawn in/worked up. I mean it's not life or death, it's just two guys posting their thoughts on a message board. If it were personal or face to face all the usual restraints would be in place, and we would never have reached this place in the first place. Try to remember that. trulez
Are these screens old? Wow, this game looks really good. No thanks to being PC exclusive. It looks even prettier than Two Worlds 2. Hopefully the gameplay will be up to par. I'm calling bullshot. I would too, but I have seen the game in motion and it looks great. I'm just hoping it doesn't end up Americanized for the sake of revenue. None of you checked the comments then? Slowtrain especially. http://theabyssgazes.blogspot.com/2010/03/...lease-stop.html

Nepenthe
"film-like scenes" SEE, THEY JUST WISH THEY WERE MAKING MOVIES INSTEAD OF GAMES?!!!! Now that I've stood in for the customary trolls generally missing in projekt red threads, I can say that it looked pretty impressive, apart from youtube compression basically wrecking most of the finer details they were trying to show off here and there. You're a cheery wee bugger, Nep. Have I ever said that? Reapercussions
Serrano
I'm excited by the Witcher 2 but I just hope on a personal level that they've made the areas easier to navigate quickly and that minor quests no longer require a certain time of day before we can progress with them. Tigranes
I've just preordered TW2 on GOG.com. For those of you who have; 1) When do you get to choose your classic game? 2) Divine Divinity or Realms of Arkania 1&2 (or 3)? I already have Gothic 2 Gold. I've no clue about how RoA is. I remember trying Divine Divinity for 30 minutes years ago then being put off by how 'clunky' it felt, but really that's not much to go on. Let's Play: Icewind Dale Ironman (Complete) Let's Play: Icewind Dale II Ironman (Complete) Let's Play: Divinity II (Complete) Let's Play: Baldur's Gate Trilogy Ironman - BG1 (Complete) Let's Play: Baldur's Gate Trilogy Ironman - BG2 (In Progress)
Labadal
They haven't announced when you can choose the game. When I pre-ordered, it said "at a later date". I guess you won't be able to choose until you have paid for the game(TW2).
Orchomene
DD is a better game it looks like in the first few hours. The beginning is a big dungeon and after that, the world is more open. Yet, it's been a long time I've not played it, so it may feel a bit dated gameplaywise, now.

They're a bit like Icewind Dale, but much more hardcore (TDE 3.0 rules). First two games have some very annoying mechanics & gameplay elements (like taking up XP to save, unless you save in a temple; having to make a succesful roll in order to increase a skill, etc). They're also very buggy. The ending of the words is ALMSIVI.

The design followed p&p mechanics and forced you too carry things like tinderboxes, water and even set watches during camping in the wild. I was always curious about what other models of crpg were conceived before the standards became set. Edited December 11, 2010 by pmp10

Slowtrain
Actually, I'd recommend either Star TRail or Blade of Destiny rather than Shadows over Riva. Shadows tried to walk the line between modern and classic and is pretty clunky. The first two are solid old school crpgs. Notice how I can belittle your beliefs without calling you names. Niten_Ryu
Insanity difficulty, import saves. Uh oh... I like difficulty in my games but not getting killed, even once to some bosses, traps or ambushes is bit too much for me. In Diablo 2 it wasn't that bad as you could always run away (no fighting in sealed small areas) and drink potions like they're going out of style but not sure if The Witcher 2 allow that. Let's play Alpha Protocol My misadventures on youtube.

Zoraptor
Last figures I saw had the vast majority of gamers not purchasing DLC, so it can't be too popular. Nice high margin for company beancounters though.
