What we really need now is Aliens vs Predator vs Terminator. That is just a license to print money right there. Notice how I can belittle your beliefs without calling you names. It's a useful skill to have particularly where you aren't allowed to call people names. It's a mistake to get too drawn in/worked up. I mean it's not life or death, it's just two guys posting their thoughts on a message board. If it were personal or face to face all the usual restraints would be in place, and we would never have reached this place in the first place. Try to remember that. Gorgon Posted May 21, 2009 Share Posted May 21, 2009 I recently picked up Unreal tournament 3 and was a bit disappointed, the engine is sweet, the rest was, well, not as good as the name would suggest. I might check this out. The AVP games were all pretty decent, it's a bit sad that they contributed in some small way to the travesty that befell the Alien movie franchise, and to a lesser degree Predator ditto (predator 2 was hilarious) but one can't really blame a game. Let's also not forget such classics as "Superman and Batman versus Aliens and Predator", "Green Lantern versus Aliens" and "Judge Dredd vs. Aliens" The movies are crap, but the AvP games are pretty much three different games in one package. The gameplay and even the tone is totally different in the campaigns and it's good fun. @Gorgon: the movie was inevitable after all the AvP comics and novels. The games don't even have anything in common with the movies other than the obvious Aliens and Predators. I'd just blame Hollywood and be done with it. He flies off to some other planet/star base and no longer has contact with the sun losing his power slowly. Atleast, thats what I remember from reading the comic years ago. As for Batman vs. The Predator, it was actually good. Batman investigates the grisly Predator kills and eventually has a showdown... pretty much the plot of a Batman (investigating crimes, capturing criminal) or Predator (kills a bunch of things until confronted by tough guy hero). The hosts/banter is truly horrible so consider yourself warned! The gameplay looks pretty good, but blood splatter is a tad excessive, though.
