Actually...(from Neogaf) Sancho Panza: Venganza de Sangre - A brilliant re-imagining of the world of Miguel de Cervantes' classic Don Quixote de La Mancha, Venganza de Sangre takes place several years after the Knight Errant's tragic death. When Don Quixote trusted companion, Sancho Panza, is left a mysterious box in the great man's will, he discovers a terrible truth: the Don was never crazy. Despite spending his last days in ridicule for his claims, enchanters had been dogging the Last Knight at every step, trying to discredit him so that their dastardly plans could continue apace. Upon learning of this evil conspiracy, Sancho vows never to rest until he has spilled the blood of every last enchanter in Spain. Ride with Sancho as he unravels the enchanters' intricate plot to bring the world to its knees on his quest to avenge his master's memory. Fight mythical beasts and great giants from the underworld as you also attempt to win the heart of the lovely Dulcinea, once mistress of the Knight Errant's heart. Monte Carlo
Mel Gibson's movie had a basic resemblance to reality. No, it really doesn't. Braveheart is a fantasy on amost every level. WILL THE ALMIGHTY
If it didn't take itself so seriously with "bringing the classic to video games", it'd be a pretty awesome game. Some scenes presented in the game are either badass or incredibly disgusting, which I assume was the point. If the PR people had just said "it's about a guy who goes through Hell as described by Dante"... maybe it wouldn't be as awful. "Alright, I've been thinking. When life gives you lemons, don't make lemonade - make life take the lemons back! Get mad! I don't want your damn lemons, what am I supposed to do with these? Demand to see life's manager. Make life rue the day it thought it could give Cave Johnson lemons. Do you know who I am? I'm the man who's gonna burn your house down! With the lemons. I'm going to to get my engineers to invent a combustible lemon that burns your house down!"

Malcador
They need to make a game based on Hamlet. Why has elegance found so little following? Wrath of Dagon
A Hamlet RPG would totally work. It's all about choices, right? "Moral indignation is a standard strategy for endowing the idiot with dignity." Marshall McLuhan

Slowtrain
Actually, I think most classic literature could make interesting games. I think the Inferno could be a great adventure/crpg game, along the lines of Torment, with no or very minimal combat. It's just offensive when some idiot game developers have to tart up a classic work of literature beyond what's reasonable. Notice how I can belittle your beliefs without calling you names. It's a useful skill to have particularly where you aren't allowed to call people names. It's a mistake to get too drawn in/worked up. I mean it's not life or death, it's just two guys posting their thoughts on a message board. If it were personal or face to face all the usual restraints would be in place, and we would never have reached this place in the first place. Try to remember that. It isn't just that they are making the Divine Comedy into a game, it's that they are turning Dante into a violent action hero.
