Darth Drabek Posted July 18, 2009 Posted July 18, 2009 Long time no see, Drabek! No music at the moment, but The Hold Steady's "You Can Make Him Like You" has been running through my head for most of the afternoon. Yup, I tried to make a shocking appearance. It's not that I don't like Radiohead, far from it. I just think they get too much credit for writing about heavy stuff. Everybody knows the best songs are about chicks! BTW, "You Can Make Him Like You" rocks. The Avett Brothers - Pretty Girl from Chile baby, take off your beret everyone's a critic and most people are DJs
Blarghagh Posted July 18, 2009 Posted July 18, 2009 (edited) Metallica or Aerosmith, easy Really? Because I don't know anyone who really likes Aerosmith, and nobody ever admits to liking post-'...And Justice For All' Metallica. I gotta go for the Rolling Stones. But then again I ain't got no taste. I'm listening to Disturbed's cover of "Midlife Crisis" by Faith No More. Haha! Edited July 18, 2009 by TrueNeutral
Nihilus5078 Posted July 18, 2009 Posted July 18, 2009 Who doesn't like the Beatles. Beatles rock. I don't like the Beatles. But then, I hate hippies. Beatles broke up before they started to suck. Thats why they are a big hit.
Oblarg Posted July 19, 2009 Posted July 19, 2009 Border of Reality by Angel Dust http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RFBpp9r1OM8 "The universe is a yawning chasm, filled with emptiness and the puerile meanderings of sentience..." - Ulyaoth "It is all that is left unsaid upon which tragedies are built." - Kreia "I thought this forum was for Speculation & Discussion, not Speculation & Calling People Trolls." - lord of flies
Monte Carlo Posted July 19, 2009 Posted July 19, 2009 Most overrated band ever: Radiohead Oooooooh yeah, I said it! Amen, brother. Maybe we need a 'Most Overrated' things in popular culture thread.
Aristes Posted July 19, 2009 Posted July 19, 2009 (edited) Hey, jerks, name songs amidst your damned cynical carping crap! Hey -- Pixies And I like the Beatles, Aerosmith, and Metalica. At least some of their songs. I must admit that I don't really know much about Radiohead. I wikied their music, but didn't recognize anything by name. ...And I love to hear about new music. Have some great tunes I've added to my library that way! Edited July 19, 2009 by Aristes
Blarghagh Posted July 19, 2009 Posted July 19, 2009 Hey, listen to what you like. What other people say doesn't matter. You don't have to share popular or critical opinion. I always just focus on what I get enjoyment out of rather than how 'good' an artist is. And while I know that, for example, Metallica's early stuff is technically just better, I have more fun listening to their grunge period (Black Album, the Loads, S&M) and that's why I am going to listen to those instead of Master of Puppets. Currently, The Arcade Fire - Wake Up.

Oblarg Posted July 29, 2009 Posted July 29, 2009 Listening to Enlighten the Darkness by Angel Dust. One of the few concept albums I actually enjoy. Starwars Posted July 29, 2009 Posted July 29, 2009 Listening to the new Battle track for Baator in Purgatorio. It rocks. Unlike most battle tracks in RPGs, this actually makes me want to kill stuff. Listen to my home-made recordings (some original songs, some not): http://www.youtube.c...low=grid&view=0
