Maybe getting permission to do something within the setting would be more reasonable.

Hades: If you permit, I would trouble you for your opinion on Obsidian crafting a game within Fallout - an old IP. Your desire for Obsidian to create its own IP and revel in the freedom it gives has been expressed many times.

While I do hunger for a good Fallout I think that Obsidian should focus their next game, the one after Aliens, on their own IP. Now if it is a Post Apocalyptic CRPG that would be great. If Obsidian does take over of Fallout after Bethesda craptastic venture I won't be against it but after all this time it would be smarter for Obsidian to let Fallout rest in peace and focus on new material, which is what I prefered Bethesda to have done.

We know the members of Obsidian are interested in the franchise, but im also interested it its of value for them enough to buy it if they get a chance to do so

Well, if I won the Powerball lottery (up to 75 million USD) I would buy the Fallout franchise in total from Bethesda and give it to Obsidian.

Supermodel? Ew. They are just skin and bones. Ghouls are more shapely than supermodels.

If I won the powerball, I'd buy the Alien franchise from Fox and just roll around in it naked.

I would also buy the Fallout franchise so as to drive it into the ground even more.

Bethesda beaten you to it.

Nobody understands how winning the lottery works. If I win a million dollars in the lotto, they don't give me a million dollar check, besides the big novelty ones that you can't cash. They give me $4,166.66 every month for 20 years. But when people win a million dollars they are naturally inclined to live like millionaires, so they'll buy a few new houses or a collection of classic cars, and thus quickly dive into a situation where the $4,166.66 they get every month can't even begin to cover the interest on the debt they've accrued. So if that happens, usually what will happen to me is a company will approach me and offer to buy my $1,000,000 in increments for however much it will take to pay off the debt, or however much the company feels they can get away with, in a bulk sum. You can't win the lotto and buy a multi-million dollar game franchise. You couldn't even do it over 20 years if you're living on your winnings.

What if you signed over the rights to your winnings to someone else? They can think of it as an investment!

If there's one thing I like about Obsidian, it's that they do talk to us. Bethesda has already stated how they will only talk to magazines to deliver information. The forums get pretty violent when we have no one there explaining things to us. Even though Neverwinter Nights 2 wasn't a great game imho (better than the original though storywise), I enjoyed following its development a hell of a lot more than I've enjoyed following Fallout 3's -- I mean -- good god -- Oblivion 2: Electric Boogaloo.
