Dark_Raven Posted October 22, 2006 Posted October 22, 2006 I watched The Shining (again). I think there are few movies that make one feel so isolated. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Kubrick's best work next to 2001. He made unique movies that made you think. Hades was the life of the party. RIP You'll be missed.

Hurlshort Posted October 22, 2006 Posted October 22, 2006 I just saw The Prestige, a fantastic movie with a top-notch cast. It was just an extremely good movie, I highly recommend it.
mr insomniac Posted October 22, 2006 Posted October 22, 2006 Saw II. Thought the first one was much better, although the traps in the second one were pretty cool. Wonder if there really will be a Saw III. Before that I watched Happy Gilmore again. I took this job because I thought you were just a legend. Just a story. A story to scare little kids. But you're the real deal. The demon who dares to challenge God. So what the hell do you want? Don't seem to me like you're out to make this stinkin' world a better place. Why you gotta kill all my men? Why you gotta kill me? Nothing personal. It's just revenge.
Darque Posted October 22, 2006 Author Posted October 22, 2006 Saw 3 comes out in a few weeks, I believe.
Dark_Raven Posted October 22, 2006 Posted October 22, 2006 iF you have a thing for gore. disgusting. Give me a good horror movie over a cheap slasher any day. Hades was the life of the party. RIP You'll be missed.

Pidesco Posted October 22, 2006 Posted October 22, 2006 huh? What does Reservoir Dogs have to do with anything? Pop Posted October 22, 2006 Posted October 22, 2006 As in, Resevoir Dogs ripped off The Killing pretty liberally, in more ways than one. Join me, and we shall make Production Beards a reality!

Dark_Raven Posted October 22, 2006 Posted October 22, 2006 Full Metal Jacket was good. It had R. Lee Ermey as the kick ass drill sargent. Too bad he was killed off. Hades was the life of the party. RIP You'll be missed.

Pop Posted October 22, 2006 Posted October 22, 2006 You think? How so? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Mostly in its anachronistic plot structure and MPOVs. RD seems to be a hodgepodge of The Killing and City on Fire. But as Tarantino says, great artists don't homage, they steal. Join me, and we shall make Production Beards a reality!
Pidesco Posted October 22, 2006 Posted October 22, 2006 I haven't seen City on Fire. I'll have to change that. Kelverin Posted October 23, 2006 Posted October 23, 2006 World is Not Enough (1999) - Except for the title track and Denise Richards as Christmas Jones an expert on nuclear weapons??????? a good Bond movie, number 12 on my list. J1 Visa Southern California Cleaning
Hurlshort Posted October 23, 2006 Posted October 23, 2006 http://movies.yahoo.com/feature/300.html;_...a8JyDgj3P5fVXcA Oooh, pretty. The preview for "300" kinda pumped me up.
Fenghuang Posted October 23, 2006 Posted October 23, 2006 Hide and Seek. Goddamn that movie was effed up. Geez. <3 Robert Deniro. RIP
LadyCrimson Posted October 23, 2006 Posted October 23, 2006 I saw a trailer for Fantastic 4 on the Xmen3 DVD - I didn't know the guy from Nip/Tuck was in it. As the bad guy, yet. Darnit...now I'll have to rent what I hear is a very bad movie. “Things are as they are. Darnit...now I'll have to rent what I hear is a very bad movie. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Not only does it have the guy from Nip/Tuck, but also the guy from the Shield. It's FX madness. I'm going to go see the Last King of Scotland here soon, whenever I can make the time to go down to the Mayan in Denver. Join me, and we shall make Production Beards a reality!
Hurlshort Posted October 23, 2006 Posted October 23, 2006 I didn't think Fantastic 4 was too bad. It was much better than Daredevil. I'd say it was worth watching just because the Thing really does look awesome. In fact, the ordeal that Michael Chiklis went through to wear that outfit deserves an hour and a half of our time.
metadigital Posted October 23, 2006 Posted October 23, 2006 Main criticism about FF is that it infantilizes: it's not particularly enjoyable for anyone who likes some depth in their entertainment. OBSCVRVM PER OBSCVRIVS ET IGNOTVM PER IGNOTIVS OPVS ARTIFICEM PROBAT
Kor Qel Droma Posted October 23, 2006 Posted October 23, 2006 There's that, and then there's the whole problem with casting Jessica Alba as a scientist. Jaguars4ever is still alive. No word of a lie.
metadigital Posted October 23, 2006 Posted October 23, 2006 I got past that fairly quickly, tbh. " OBSCVRVM PER OBSCVRIVS ET IGNOTVM PER IGNOTIVS OPVS ARTIFICEM PROBAT
