Tale Posted March 24, 2007 Posted March 24, 2007 Screw you, Calex. I was at Best Buy and just bought Command & Conquer: The First Decade. I already have Generals, but the rest is all new to me. "Show me a man who "plays fair" and I'll show you a very talented cheater."
Gorth Posted March 25, 2007 Posted March 25, 2007 http://www.strategyfirst.com/en/games/Disciples3/ If nothing else, because I am a fan of Disciples 2 (never played the first one) “He who joyfully marches to music in rank and file has already earned my contempt. mkreku Posted March 26, 2007 Posted March 26, 2007 I just realized that I have nothing to look forward to in the immediate future. How depressing. Swedes, go to: Spel2, for the latest game reviews in swedish!

Maria Caliban Posted March 29, 2007 Posted March 29, 2007 In the Mass Effect thread, Pop asked, "Hell, what else am I going to look forward to this year?" Sadly, I can't think of many games for 2007, so I thought I'd start a thread about 2007 released you're enjoying, and looking forward to enjoying. Tell us a bit about the game as well. "When is this out. I can't wait to play it so I can talk at length about how bad it is." - Gorgon.
Maria Caliban Posted March 29, 2007 Posted March 29, 2007 (edited) STALKER: Shadow of Chernobyl Genre: FPS[ Platform: PC Rating: M Why is this worth looking forward to?: Strong mood, original concept, and realistic combat. I'm not usually a FPS fan, but I'm enjoying this game. The setting feels very bleakly Russian, enhancing the otherworldness of the supernatural elements. The main character is not a super soldier, and the unfolding story is strong enough to maintain my interest. These are the people who should have done Cthulu: Dark Corners of the Earth. If you don't like FPS, this won't convert you. It's a difficult game, especially at first. However, if you're interested in something different in that genre, I have no trouble recommending it. metadigital Posted March 29, 2007 Posted March 29, 2007 Not to mention, that it would be able to run on a Windows machine without resorting to Dosbox and/or whatsitsname the 3dfx Glide emulator program. Get the PSX version and run it via emulator. You can even up the resolution with proper plugins. I swapped a couple of old DVDs that I didn't want for a secondhand PSone and Tombraider. Brilliant. Maria Caliban Posted March 29, 2007 Posted March 29, 2007 Eh, you could have told me. BioShock Genre: FPS/RPG Platform: X-360, PC Rating: Mature Why is this worth looking forward to?: Rich people create huge underwater city, and become hideous mutants. What's not to love? The 'ecological AI' with its 'emergent gameplay' looks like the real deal, and I love the idea of a claustrophobic, underwater environment.. "When is this out. I can't wait to play it so I can talk at length about how bad it is." - Gorgon.
Volourn Posted March 29, 2007 Posted March 29, 2007 2007 Games: Mass Effect. Possibly Dragon Age. NWN2 Expansion. Madden 2008. DWARVES IN PROJECT ETERNITY = VOLOURN HAS PLEDGED $250.
Maria Caliban Posted March 29, 2007 Posted March 29, 2007 Prince of Persia: Rival Swords: Genre: Action/Puzzle Platform: Wii Rating: Mature Why is this worth looking forward to?: The original Prince of Persia offered smooth scrolling graphics and complex environment puzzles with a classic story line: Vizier kidnaps princess and demands her hand in marriage. Prince saves Princess. Later games have all tried to stick to this formula, and with the last trio of games, they've done so admirably. Though the storyline and main character are joined, each game is slightly different in mood and emphasis. Rival Swords is a port of the excellent Two Thrones to the Wii, and I looking forward to seeing if this new interface improves and enhances gameplay. This is one series that would seem to be made for the wii. "When is this out. I can't wait to play it so I can talk at length about how bad it is." - Gorgon.
Maria Caliban Posted March 29, 2007 Posted March 29, 2007 (edited) I'm fairly certain Dragon Age isn't coming out this year. Splinter Cell: Double Agent Genre: Adventure Platform: X-Box, PS3, PC Rating: Mature Why is this worth looking forward to?: I wonder who has more money, Steven King or Tom Clancy? The Splinter Cell series is well known for delivering polished, stealth-based action in a modern setting. Double Agent give more of the same, but adds slight RPG element in that certain choices you make effect later events. Edited March 29, 2007 by Maria Caliban "When is this out. Maria Caliban Posted March 29, 2007 Posted March 29, 2007 http://www.2-worlds.com/ I have no idea if this is worth looking forward to, but it's a fantasy RPG. "When is this out. I can't wait to play it so I can talk at length about how bad it is." - Gorgon.
Pop Posted March 29, 2007 Posted March 29, 2007 I'm pretty sure Double Agent is already out. The next Splinter Cell will be a 360 exclusive, actually. Join me, and we shall make Production Beards a reality!
Deraldin Posted March 29, 2007 Posted March 29, 2007 I'm pretty sure Double Agent is already out. The next Splinter Cell will be a 360 exclusive, actually. Double Agent definitely out on Wii, 360 and PC. The PS3 version is supposed to come out next month.
mkreku Posted March 29, 2007 Posted March 29, 2007 White Gold (Boiling Point 2) Genre: FPS/RPG hybrid Platform: PC Rating: Mature (probably) Why is this worth looking forward to?: Saul is back! And this time he might even be bug-free! Boiling Point was an extremely ambitious game that didn't quite manage to do all the things it wanted to do as good as it could have. But with White Gold the happy chaps over at Ukrainian based Deep Shadows are getting a second chance. And with a little luck they'll nail it this time, with better driving physics, less jerky world, better game balancing and a lot fewer bugs. mkreku Posted March 29, 2007 Posted March 29, 2007 Space Force: Rogue Universe Genre: Space Sim/RPG hybrid Platform: PC Rating: N/A Why is this worth looking forward to?: A huge open-ended universe, lots of trading, exploring, fighting and over 2000+ quests to solve. If it's even half as good as it sounds, it might be the Elite type of game I've been looking for since.. well, Elite. I'm holding my thumbs! Joseph Bulock Posted March 29, 2007 Posted March 29, 2007 I'm looking forward to Red Star for the PS2. This game has taken forever to get to the shelves (the comic it is based on seems to have died right before they finished the final book ), but I played a test version of it while in QA at another company. If you like the Treasure style shooters or slasher action games, this title has a great dynamic blend of the two in the gameplay and is one of the best co-op games for the PS2 ever. My blood! mkreku Posted March 29, 2007 Posted March 29, 2007 Yeah, why does ones old posts become un-editable after a while? I just noticed that one of the games I'm looking forward to is called Space Force: Rogue Universe and not Rogue Galaxy (like I accidentally called it in a post above).. metadigital, heeeelp!
