random evil guy Posted April 13, 2006 Posted April 13, 2006 actors trying to be musicians or musicians trying to be actors?
Judge Hades Posted April 13, 2006 Posted April 13, 2006 I think both are equally bad but what is worse is athletes who try to actors or musicians.
Kaftan Barlast Posted April 13, 2006 Posted April 13, 2006 actors being musicians is worse <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Yes. Anyone can look good onscreen but making music requires practise and a bit of talent. Judge Hades Posted April 13, 2006 Posted April 13, 2006 Looks at the acting style of keanu reeves... Um. No.
Enoch Posted April 13, 2006 Posted April 13, 2006 actors being musicians is worse <{POST_SNAPBACK}> That's probably true. There are a decent number of musicians who have pulled the acting thing off pretty well. Queen Latifah, Will Smith (yeah, he's been in a lot of crap, but go rent Six Degrees of Separation), Ices Cube & T, etc. Tough to think of many actors who have put together decent careers as musicians... But, then again, there is the Hass! :D
kirottu Posted April 13, 2006 Posted April 13, 2006 Looks at the acting style of keanu reeves... Um. No. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Keanu is a good actor. This post is not to be enjoyed, discussed, or referenced on company time.

Moose Posted April 13, 2006 Posted April 13, 2006 actors being musicians is worse <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Yes. Anyone can look good onscreen but making music requires practise and a bit of talent. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Or a synth There are none that are right, only strong of opinion. There are none that are wrong, only ignorant of facts
Hurlshort Posted April 13, 2006 Posted April 13, 2006 I think a good director, writer. and editor can make anyone seem like a passable actor. I still hold many actors in high regard, though. Other than Don Johnson, I can't think of any good actor to musician transitions.

LoneWolf16 Posted April 13, 2006 Posted April 13, 2006 Keanu is a good actor. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> That was sarcasm, right? I had thought that some of nature's journeymen had made men and not made them well, for they imitated humanity so abominably. - Book of Counted Sorrows 'Cause I won't know the man that kills me and I don't know these men I kill but we all wind up on the same side 'cause ain't none of us doin' god's will. - Everlast
Surreptishus Posted April 13, 2006 Posted April 13, 2006 Keanu was good in The Matrix and Speed. Which essentially had lead characters that were required to have "WTF?" look on their face at all times. Never heard Dogstar (keanu's band) and I don't want to.
Judge Hades Posted April 13, 2006 Posted April 13, 2006 My problem wit Keanu is that, with the exception to the Bill and Ted movies, every single character he plays is played out the same.
LoneWolf16 Posted April 13, 2006 Posted April 13, 2006 That, and every one of them has a nice, dead and wooden quality to them. I like his movies mainly 'cause I'm not expecting oscar caliber acting in an action flick. Dark_Raven Posted April 13, 2006 Posted April 13, 2006 They both have huge egos which in turns make a good person suck. I vote for both. Hades was the life of the party. RIP You'll be missed.
Laozi Posted April 13, 2006 Posted April 13, 2006 (edited) Actn is not really that difficult a talent to cultivate, atleast not at the standards practiced in today's cinema. Performing music isn't really difficult either, all you really need is a good ear and a decent voice. Now writing good screenplays and music is a whole different thing all together, and unfortantly most people being paid to do so aren't really all that talented. Edited April 13, 2006 by Laozi People laugh when I say that I think a jellyfish is one of the most beautiful things in the world. What they don't understand is, I mean a jellyfish with long, blond hair.
Bulgarian Jedi Posted April 14, 2006 Posted April 14, 2006 They both have huge egos which in turns make a good person suck. I vote for both. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I couldn't agree more. Нека Силата винаги бъде с теб! I reject your reality, and substitute it with my own. Time you enjoy wasting is not wasted.
