mkreku Posted March 16, 2006 Posted March 16, 2006 I took time off from computer games between the end of the Commdodore-era (1995) and when I just couldn't stop myself from getting a new computer (2002). I still played games occasionally though, as my mom is a huge fan of computer games and I live with her during winter break, and during summer I usually had access to my friends computers in the dorm I lived in, as I was the only one who stayed in town for summerjobs. It was cool, because everytime I played my mom's games it was adventure games (Grim Fandango, Longest Journey and so on) and my dormfriends had very differing tastes. One only had sports games (thank you, Eric, for introducing me to the NHL-games), one only played RPG's (thank you, Mikko, for showing me Icewind Dale) and two played mostly FPS (thank you, J Swedes, go to: Spel2, for the latest game reviews in swedish!
Janmanden Posted March 16, 2006 Posted March 16, 2006 Five years ago I was 'prepared' to 'get tactical' and play the greatest post nuclear tactical combat game in the Fallout universe - Fallout: Tactics. (Signatures: disabled)
Daaave Posted March 16, 2006 Posted March 16, 2006 Championship Manager 00/01. Now playing It's successor Football Manager 2006. :D Just because you're a bit thinner than your even fatter mum it doesn't mean you're in excellent physical shape, if you could fit through the door and view the normal people you'd notice that cheeseburger boy. Squid suck.
mr insomniac Posted March 16, 2006 Posted March 16, 2006 Planescape: Torment. Red Alert 2 and both Fallouts, as I'd only bought them that summer. I took this job because I thought you were just a legend. Just a story. A story to scare little kids. But you're the real deal. The demon who dares to challenge God. So what the hell do you want? Don't seem to me like you're out to make this stinkin' world a better place. Why you gotta kill all my men? Why you gotta kill me? Nothing personal. It's just revenge.
alanschu Posted March 16, 2006 Posted March 16, 2006 In 2001, probably too many to list. I may have still been playing Deus Ex, but I think that was a 2000 game. NOLF was probably up there, and maybe Morrowind. I suppose Baldur's Gate 2 was in there somewhere, as well as PST (for the first time too).
Sargallath Abraxium Posted March 16, 2006 Posted March 16, 2006 ...Planescape: Torment (fer the umpteenth time), Icewind Dale (prolly on my 3rd or 4th playthrough this time 5 years ago), and BG II: Shadows of Amn (more's the pity)... :D ...WHO LUVS YA, BABY!!... A long, long time ago, but I can still remember, How the Trolling used to make me smile. And I knew if I had my chance, I could egg on a few Trolls to "dance", And maybe we'd be happy for a while. But then Krackhead left and so did Klown; Volo and Turnip were banned, Mystake got run out o' town. Bad news on the Front Page, BIOweenia said goodbye in a heated rage. I can't remember if I cried When I heard that TORN was recently fried, But sadness touched me deep inside, The day...Black Isle died. For tarna, Visc, an' the rest o' the ol' Islanders that fell along the way
DAWUSS Posted March 16, 2006 Posted March 16, 2006 5 years ago I was playing Goldeneye, Pokemon, and Rogue Squadron DAWUSS Dawes ain't too bright. Hitting rock bottom is when you leave 2 tickets on the dash of your car, leave it unlocked hoping someone will steal them & when you come back, there are 4 tickets on your dashboard.
Llyranor Posted March 16, 2006 Posted March 16, 2006 Hmm, 2001. That's when I played the BG series. PST and IWD I had already played the year before. Other than that... Ah, yes, Wizardry VIII. (Approved by Fio, so feel free to use it)
Darth Drabek Posted March 17, 2006 Posted March 17, 2006 Duke Nukem: Zero Hour for the N64 Damn, that game was frustrating, but I struggled through it to the end. Probably some Hydro Thunder for the Dreamcast as well, and maybe Tony Hawk 2 and RollerCoaster Tycoon (if they were out by then). baby, take off your beret everyone's a critic and most people are DJs

Musopticon? Posted March 18, 2006 Posted March 18, 2006 I'd wager a guess that I was playing Thief 2 and 1. kirottu said: I was raised by polar bears. Pidesco Posted March 18, 2006 Posted March 18, 2006 Sim City 3000 deluxe (I notice there's not a lot of Sim City players here) I was a big fan of the original Sim City for the PC back in the day. A couple of years later I also got the Snes version. It started my love of city buiding games. "My hovercraft is full of eels!" - Hungarian tourist I am Dan Quayle of the Romans.
