Jediphile
This is really a tip and has probably been mentioned many times here, so apologies if this is really old news to you. Bao-Dur is a Zabrak with only one arm, and presumably this is the reason why he cannot use most of the clothing in the game. Yes, he can use most armor, but if you're going to turn him into a Jedi Guardian (and who are we kidding - we all will), then armor will restrict his use of force powers while he will be unable to use jedi robes or so that would allow it. So he can only wear standard clothes or else have his force powers restricted? Well, I found that there is actually one piece of protective clothing that Bao-Dur can use without restricting his force powers - it is the Telos Mining Uniform that the Exile finds on Peragus. Yes, it's a pretty bad piece of clothing, but it does at least offer a defense bonus and it can be upgraded, so it's clearly better than standard clothes that alter nothing. To my knowledge this is the only piece of protective clothing that will allow Bao-Dur go use his force powers unrestricted in the game. Just thought I'd share that... hawk
Well, thanks. It is indeed better than nothing. Although I mostly not turn him into a Jedi Guardian, but that's just me. Master Vandar lives!
kitty_with_a_lightsaber
I just gave him powers he could use with the armor...force scream, foce push, energy and physical resistance..heal...

LadyCrimson
Yeah..there's plenty of ok powers he can use w/armor on. Even when I turn him to Jedi I have him on Agressive/Melee anyway, so he doesn't use powers very often...he's healed my Exile on his own, in battle tho, which was nice of him. But I suppose if you're using him for Jedi Support, that'd work out nicely. “Things are as they are. Darth Kavar
(...), but if you're going to turn him into a Jedi Guardian (and who are we kidding - we all will) (...) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I've already played Kotor2 twice and he's the only one who I never turned into a Jedi (from those that can be turned) - I'd rather that he stays as my low-budget mechanic with all those skills. Becoming a Jedi Guardian would make him gain only +4 skill points per level.
Dragonforce
i always turned atton over him, as it difficult to get both to turn into jedi's since both gain influence from the same things as my guardian i just used the handmaiden
Jeremiah
If you think about it, the mining uniform isn't that much different from a standard Jedi robe in terms of properties. Too bad we can't get a Knight or Master mining uniform LOL. Heck, I usually create a PC with 10 dex anyway so outfitting him with the mining uniform by keeping him at level 6 before turning makes him just as good a Jedi as the PC. Too bad he can't use the Jal Shey or Zeison Sha armor though. Since T3 can be improved to 20 intelligence, T3 can handle all the item creation skills other than Stealth (Visas) or Treat Injury (Bao-Dur or Kreia). So Bao Dur doesn't need to be the tech of the group. Heck, T3 is superior in that regard.
kitty_with_a_lightsaber
It would have been nice if he could at least have used heavy armor....there arent many good light or medium armor's out there...and he cant use robes either. On top of the fact that they made him a str/int based character and he's only got a 10 in dexterity... He must be the most clumsy Zabrak ever....(Almost all zabrak item's you find in game lead towards the conclusion that zabrak are dextrous and quick...) That might reduce one's dexterity somewhat... I have found quite a few good light and medium armors in my current game (including 3 Exar Kun battlesuits!) so I've been able to outfit Bao-Dur nicely. It is annoying, though, how many good heavy armors there are in the game, but the only heavy-armor guy, Mandalore, can't change his armor!
ShadowPaladin V1.0
Because of his less than stellar dex he's more suited to armour with his force powers tailored accordingly. I have to agree with Volourn. Bioware is pretty much dead now. Deals like this kills development studios. 478327[/snapback]
Ste
I don't turn Bao-Dur. He is more useful to me as a Tech Specialist than just another Jedi.
Vashanti
He's a very goody-goody type, difficult to turn to the darkside. Much easier when playing lightside.
kitty_with_a_lightsaber
Best armor I've found for him so far(Including Exar Kun's suite) Is Jamon Hogra's battle armor(Spelling?) It's medium armor and has something like 11/+2 with 25 resistance to cold...and it looks good combined with blue lightsabers I never find turning him into a jedi really hard...even as a dark sider. Its pretty easy to gain influence and gain those dark side points back anyways...seeing as how easy dark side points are to get..
Badsight
there is a 13/+1 armour suit as well
Wraith Straddon
It's too bad about Bao-Dur's armor and robe limitations; his remote isn't that much of an advantage... I prefer to raise his wisdom, and give him unrestricted powers like Destroy Droid, Heal, and Stun. Darkside powers (in the rare times I actually play DS): Insanity and Scream. I usually equip him with the Krath Holy battle suit (I think), and give him a pair of deflection-geared sabers, with maxed jedi defense feats and force redirection power. It's too bad that lightsabers disable forcefields... Bao-Dur might have been more useful otherwise.

Has anyone found a good use for heavy armour? I mean, I never thought it was worth giving anyone heading for Jedihood, or handy with a DEX-oriented blaster the Heavy armour feat, and IIRC, Bao can't even get it! Why on earth can't he get the feat? Did they not make the models or something? Ridiculous...... bg.
hawk
It's too bad that lightsabers disable forcefields... Bao-Dur might have been more useful otherwise. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> But how many force fields are there actually?! Telos, Czerka base, yes. That's where you need Bao Dur. Nar Shaddaa Goto's Yacht, yes. Easy to turn them off with one off those computers. Onderon Sky ramp. Well that's one you stick a Lightsaber in. Can anyone else think of another place?! Uhhmm. would have been nice to have him in your party in Kotor I. It would be the quickest escape method on the leviathan. Master Vandar lives! Jediphile
I don't turn Bao-Dur. He is more useful to me as a Tech Specialist than just another Jedi. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I always found that he was still a very good tech even if I did turn him into a jedi - even as a guardian he has enough skill points keep the relevant skills high, and I increased his intelligence to give him one or two more. I mean, his level puts a cap on how high his skills may be in any event, so the skill point drop isn't really so severe, I thought. Visit my KotOR blog at Deadly Forums.
