January 26, 200521 yr I've read some SW books and most of them aren't that enthralling. I've read the Thrawn series, Jedi Academy, The Black Fleet Crisis and so on. I would recommend visiting your local library to borrow the books and not actually purchase them. I mean you are not going to be reading these a lot, if at all after the first time. Also rather than the books, try the comics published by Darkhorse. The Thrawn Trilogy by Timothy Zahn Heir to the Empire Dark Force Rising The Last Command Tales of the Jedi by Tom Veitch/Chris Gosset/Kevin J. Anderson Knights of the Old Republic Dark Lords of the Sith The Sith War Redemption Dark Empire By Veitch and Cam Kennedy I would start with these. January 27, 200521 yr I'm sorry, the Thrawn Trilogy does didn't do it for me. Timonthy Zahn has a nasty habit of forging potentially interesting characters and killing them off fast. Look, no one is going to compare the literary quality SW EU to Asimov, Heinlein, Ellison, or PK D(sensored)K. Just accept SW for what it is --Pure escapist light reading. Strictly on its own merit as just that, some of the EU stuff is good fun. ...the rest not so much.
