I like Bao-Dur, and turned him jedi. But, unfortunately (for the Darth Maul look) he can't wear any robes. At least none that I have found. He can wear medium armor, but of course that restricts his force powers (especially if you are ds, like me).

What is the best armor for a Jedi Bao-Dur, in your opinion?

(I really don't want to wear the miner outfit)

You could give him that Zal Shey stuff (or whatever it's called), or just equip him with regular clothes.

Unless you wear 'clothes,' Bao-dur's force powers are resricted. He's set up to be that way.

Pick whatever medium armor you can find that has the best def bonus (he should have a zero modifier in dex, so don't sweat that restriction) and fill it with appropriate upgrades.

He can't (I'm pretty sure but not positive) wear the Jal Shey or Zeison Sha stuff because they specifically except him.

What I do ALWAYS with Bao is this

Put him in light armor (and upgrade it obviously with attention to Wisdom as its so low on him)

Give him some form of unarmed combat guantlets (I usually find one or two sets in game)

Make sure he has reflex - wisdom - dex items on head/implant/belt

and then put him on jedi support mode.

Bao is the BEST unarmed combat character in game, and since he cant wear armor that doesnt restrict force powers I use him primarily as a tank/sheild that heals.

Has worked out really well for me altho I find Bao to be MUCH more aggressive then other party members (seems to run off after things that are farther away then other character would chase after) which does get him in trouble alot of the time!

The Krath Holy Battle Suit is THE BEST ARMOR for Bao-Dur.

No clothes, no Miner Uniform, and no other armor types period.

For Force powers give him ones that aren't restriced to use.

Well.. he *looks* the best in his regualr clothes. (Yummy... ) But, so as not to restrict his powers, I put him in the Miner's Uniform and all the belts and gauntlets and stuff to boost his AC.

And he can not wear *any* of the cool robes. :)

try the miner's suit..

yep, the one in peragus...

you can equip with fire resistant underlay, (bad idea) or the bio regeneration underlay mark V...3 hit points regenerated per round, and +3 con...which he needs... ;)

If you want Bao-dur to look cool, have a good defense bonus and be able to use force powers, give him the Zeison Sha Warrior Armor or the Jal Shey Neophyte Armor. Do note that Bao-dur cannot equip the Jal Shey Advisor Armor or the Zeison Sha Initiate Armor.

Ah I didn't know that. But I don't think I ever got a Jal Shey Advisor Armor/Zeison Sha Initiate Armor :( That f.... stupid random loot generator...

That's pretty interesting...I thought he couldn't wear any Jedi armor. It doesn't even matter to me, because I never turn him into a Jedi. Correct me if I'm wrong, but if Bao turns into Jedi Guardian, he'll lose skill points right?

Yeah, he doesn't gain as many skills per level. So what I do is when he's a Tech Specialist, I concentrate his skill development in only a few categories rather than spreading it across the board. This doesn't use up all the skill points he gains per level-up, thus creating a skill point surplus. Then, when he turns into a Jedi Guardian, the relative skill gain deficit is offset by the skill points he has in the bank.

only too true

People laugh when I say that I think a jellyfish is one of the most beautiful things in the world. What they don't understand is, I mean a jellyfish with long, blond hair.

You don't care that he can't use his Force powers that way?

What force powers?I can't train him even though I'm a level 10 Sith Lord.

That may just be your problem, Bao-Dur is close to impossible to convert as a DS char. As LS it's pretty easy.

To get Bao-Dur to go to the Dark Side, you have to respond to him like you're Light Side until you've built up enough influence with him. Note that you WILL have to get Light side points to get influence with him. When I did it I helped the plagued refugee on Nar Shadaa (with only him in the party) and helped the trappped Mandalorian recruit on Dxun (also with only him in the party). Both times he reacts to you if you did the "good-guy" thing and you must respond as a good guy would to get influence. It took both of those things as well as using the Light Side responses to his conversation options to get enough influence to set him on the Dark path. Once you have enough influence he'll tell you about the anger that's built up in him over the years and you offer to help him use that anger for strength and he becomes a Dark Jedi Guardian. It's MUCH easier to make him a Light Jedi of course.

As for the original question, I usually use either something like Krath Holy Armor or Exar Kun's battle armor, usually with some +defense overlays and strengthing underlays. I make sure to get him powers that aren't restricted by armor.

To the guy that said Bao-Dur makes the best unarmed fighter... I disagree, he's a grear fighter if you spec him out right, but not the best at unarmed. That distinction goes to the Handmaiden (who also happens to be the best NPC fighter you can get IMO) She get's the Echani fighting moves that're pretty nice. I usually keep her on the ship til I'm level 17 and can make her a Jedi (you just have to duel her three times and she won't fight you the third time til you're 17). In other words she's Soldier 6/Jedi Guardian 10 to begin with. After that she's by far the best fighter and I usually keep her with me all the time. The Disciple is pretty decent if you're playing a female, but the Handmaiden is MUCH better, especially since she teaches you Battle Precognition (adds your Wisdom mod to your defense)

I am pretty sure he can not where any thing that a Jedi can wear since in the description it says cannot equip Bao Dur
