  1. I've had this happen in my latest DS game when I decided to try and convert ALL the NPCs to Dark Jedi (which I did I might add). I had to get some Light Side points to get maxed out Bao Dur influence so when I hit 15 I wasn't quite Dark enough to prestige. I had to go out and be bad a bit without levelling in order to get my prestige class. You have to have about 90% to Dark/Light Mastery to prestige.
  2. I'd have to say Handmaiden. I usually leave her on the ship til I'm level 17 and can duel her the third time (which will allow you to make her a Jedi Guardian). This makes her a Soldier 6/Jedi Guardian X. Unlike most of the other characters she loses nothing by not levelling up in her original class and she is a complete power house as a Jedi. For second place I'd say Bao-Dur. He's a killer fighter as a Jedi Guardian and still has a ton of skills as well as the shield breaker ability. I'll usually stop levelling him up around 9-10 until I can make him a Jedi. I also put a couple of points into Int so he doesn't lose too much in the way of skill points when he becomes a Jedi.
  3. I really like all of the companions in TSL, except maybe GOTO who I found annoying. I'd have to say my favorite as far as back story goes would be Bao-Dur, maybe because being a soldier myself I really identify well with his story and the way he's so loyal to the Exile, his former commander. It helps that he also happens to be the single most useful character to have in your party, especially if you make him a Jedi Guardian.
  4. The seven forms originally came from an article in Star Wars Insider right after Episode 2 came out. You can also find em in the Hero's Guide for Star Wars D20, but I don't think either one has the same names for the forms, they're only listed by form number and in some cases who uses them in the movies. For instance Dooku tends to use Form IV and Mace Windu tends to use Form VII as well as his own Lightsaber form known as Vapad and Obi-wan almost exclusively uses Form III.
  5. That may just be your problem, Bao-Dur is close to impossible to convert as a DS char. As LS it's pretty easy. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> To get Bao-Dur to go to the Dark Side, you have to respond to him like you're Light Side until you've built up enough influence with him. Note that you WILL have to get Light side points to get influence with him. When I did it I helped the plagued refugee on Nar Shadaa (with only him in the party) and helped the trappped Mandalorian recruit on Dxun (also with only him in the party). Both times he reacts to you if you did the "good-guy" thing and you must respond as a good guy would to get influence. It took both of those things as well as using the Light Side responses to his conversation options to get enough influence to set him on the Dark path. Once you have enough influence he'll tell you about the anger that's built up in him over the years and you offer to help him use that anger for strength and he becomes a Dark Jedi Guardian. It's MUCH easier to make him a Light Jedi of course. As for the original question, I usually use either something like Krath Holy Armor or Exar Kun's battle armor, usually with some +defense overlays and strengthing underlays. I make sure to get him powers that aren't restricted by armor. To the guy that said Bao-Dur makes the best unarmed fighter... I disagree, he's a grear fighter if you spec him out right, but not the best at unarmed. That distinction goes to the Handmaiden (who also happens to be the best NPC fighter you can get IMO) She get's the Echani fighting moves that're pretty nice. I usually keep her on the ship til I'm level 17 and can make her a Jedi (you just have to duel her three times and she won't fight you the third time til you're 17). In other words she's Soldier 6/Jedi Guardian 10 to begin with. After that she's by far the best fighter and I usually keep her with me all the time. The Disciple is pretty decent if you're playing a female, but the Handmaiden is MUCH better, especially since she teaches you Battle Precognition (adds your Wisdom mod to your defense)
