Diogo Ribeiro
Aphex Twin<{POST_SNAPBACK}> How is it, really? The only thing I know from his is, unfortunately and expectedly, "Come To Daddy" (which did tickled some parts of my fancy). Which of his works would you recommend? Pope
Aphex Twin<{POST_SNAPBACK}> How is it, really? The only thing I know from his is, unfortunately and expectedly, "Come To Daddy" (which did tickled some parts of my fancy). Which of his works would you recommend? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Well, the first and most important thing you should know about Aphex Twin, is that he's very experimental. It's not quite like anything else out there. It takes a lot of time to get used to his style (especially the harder stuff), but once you start appreciating it, it can be awesome stuff to listen to. For instance, I love listening to the harder Aphex Twin songs on my mp3-player when doing stuff like skiing (they really give you the urge to go faster and faster), while the softer ones are great when chilling. To name but a few of the songs I like: Actium, Alberto Balsalm, Asylum, Delphium, Didgeridoo, Girl/Boy Song, Kicking Mr Bubbles, We Are The Music Makers, Windowclicker, Xtal... (these are mostly soft) Selected Ambient Works 85-92 is an album you should definitely get if you're interested.

draakh_kimera
Its like the HC and Grindcore genre where theres a million bands who sound about the same so all you do is buy a couple of 7"s, listen, go "this was pretty good" and feel good about your purchase. but Isnt there anyone here that listens to.. you know, exciting and weird music? Most Ive seen listed here is just plain jane, off-the-radio ****. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> What, to you, constitutes weird/exciting music? I find that most of the music that I consider weird, ie polyrythmics, that weird 8 step scale or some ****, contemporary jazz, either gets old real fast or it just gets on my nerves. Kaftan Barlast
What, to you, constitutes weird/exciting music? Pope
Well, I am not going to list all the music in my library. I have close to 9 gig worth of MP3, and thatis only the amount that I have transferred over. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> lol I have 16 gig... who can do better? Blarghagh
Well, I was sure they were going to mentioned at some point before the two page mark, but I didn't see them, so: THE BLOOD BROTHERS. I was surprised that people who had Evanescence on their list still felt they had to redeem themselves by putting '(pre-whatever album)' by Metallica.
