Chris Avellone Posted November 20, 2004 Posted November 20, 2004 Hypothetically, you may be able to have a wookiee join your party. If you do, one difference between wookiee companions in K1 and K2, is the ones in K2 have the ability to enter a "Wookiee Rage," Chewbacca style, make the screen flush blood-red and then proceed to rend through any opponents they encounter. Don't forget to use it if your wookiee friend is in a tight spot. Other than this one wookiee, however, you won't encounter any others that made it off Kashyyyk in K2 - and you certainly won't encounter as many as it looks like you're going to encounter in Episode III.

Nur Ab Sal Posted November 20, 2004 Posted November 20, 2004 Does it mean that Zalbaar is a full party member again? HERMOCRATES: Nur Ab Sal was one such king. He it was, say the wise men of Egypt, who first put men in the colossus, making many freaks of nature at times when the celestial spheres were well aligned. SOCRATES: This I doubt. We are hearing a child's tale.
kumquatq3 Posted November 20, 2004 Posted November 20, 2004 make the screen flush blood-red and then proceed to rend through any opponents they encounter. Is this why, Hypothetically, K2 got a warning for "Blood" this time around?
kumquatq3 Posted November 20, 2004 Posted November 20, 2004 Does it mean that Zalbaar is a full party member again? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Doesn't sound like it to me
Laozi Posted November 20, 2004 Posted November 20, 2004 Are wookiee's comparable to the chupa cabras? People laugh when I say that I think a jellyfish is one of the most beautiful things in the world. What they don't understand is, I mean a jellyfish with long, blond hair.
Salsabettis Posted November 20, 2004 Posted November 20, 2004 Does it mean that Zalbaar is a full party member again? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Doesn't sound like it to me <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Me neither. I don't think Zalbaar will make an appearance at all. I have yet to encounter someone that actually liked and regularly used him.
Ivan the Terrible Posted November 20, 2004 Posted November 20, 2004 I think whatever Chris Avellone decides to ramble about here is going to turn into a dozen-page thread. So if you've been looking for a forum to talk about that strategically-placed boil that's been worrying you, Mr. Avellone, you've found the right place. I made this half-pony half-monkey monster to please you But I get the feeling that you don't like it What's with all the screaming? You like monkeys, you like ponies Maybe you don't like monsters so much Maybe I used too many monkeys Isn't it enough to know that I ruined a pony making a gift for you?
SilverSun Posted November 20, 2004 Posted November 20, 2004 I didn't mind Zal,wasn't my Fav but was okay. Here's a thought though,if you focus on hand to hand you're suppose to be able deal out some decent damage. A Wookiee would make a great character to do this on. ((Thanks for the Info BTW.))
Nur Ab Sal Posted November 20, 2004 Posted November 20, 2004 Me neither. I don't think Zalbaar will make an appearance at all. I have yet to encounter someone that actually liked and regularly used him. I don't like wookies at all, so let's hope that you're right. HERMOCRATES: Nur Ab Sal was one such king. He it was, say the wise men of Egypt, who first put men in the colossus, making many freaks of nature at times when the celestial spheres were well aligned. SOCRATES: This I doubt. Laozi Posted November 20, 2004 Posted November 20, 2004 I know atleast someone's going to jump my ass for this, but....... I hope the wookie is a Jedi People laugh when I say that I think a jellyfish is one of the most beautiful things in the world. What they don't understand is, I mean a jellyfish with long, blond hair.
Nur Ab Sal Posted November 20, 2004 Posted November 20, 2004 Like in crappy Living Force? HERMOCRATES: Nur Ab Sal was one such king. He it was, say the wise men of Egypt, who first put men in the colossus, making many freaks of nature at times when the celestial spheres were well aligned. SOCRATES: This I doubt. We are hearing a child's tale.
kumquatq3 Posted November 20, 2004 Posted November 20, 2004 Geez, all this hating on the MCA rambling threads all of a sudden Anyways, so the NPCs that we have now are: Mandalore Hk50/47 T3 Mira Kriea Atton Visomething....the dark handmaiden Handmaiden Bao Dur (sp?) wookie + odds are Disciple 10-11 out of 12 Did I forget one?
SilverSun Posted November 20, 2004 Posted November 20, 2004 Visomething....the dark handmaiden Visas Marr. And they're not the same I though Akari said? Or were you just using the term for the hell of it?

Or were you just using the term for the hell of it? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> There not the same NPC, as in counting as one of the 12, but as for the actual looks of the NPC....they seem to be the same NPC in different clothing.
RealTalk Posted November 20, 2004 Posted November 20, 2004 zalbar was pointless in kotor 1 because he refused to talk to you, no one i know used him at all
SoulSwindler Posted November 20, 2004 Posted November 20, 2004 He was strong though...good for door bashing and melee...but yeah, otherwise pointless. If it wasn't for the storyline involving him, he would have been a waste of time.
Ivan the Terrible Posted November 20, 2004 Posted November 20, 2004 Geez, all this hating on the MCA rambling threads all of a sudden No hate here. I'm amongst those fervently waiting for any pitiful scrap of information he may deign to throw to us, and I'm certainly certainly not implying that Chris Avellone should stop posting these threads. I'm just noting that nothing draws attention like a Lead Designer-posted thread on a gaming board. He could talk about just about anything and get a sizeable response. On the subject of Zaalbar, he was second only to T3-M4 in being an undeveloped, uninteresting character in the first game. 'So, Zaalbar, have anything to say about yourself?' 'Nope.' 'Have anything to say about this planet?' 'Nope.' 'Could you help me with a problem?' 'Nope.' Even on Kashyyssk he felt like an empty shell. I mean, he spends the majority of the planet locked up in Chuundar's tent, and when it comes to the final confrontation you actually have to decide for him whether he'll support Freyyr or Chuundar. What a tool. Let's hope 'Big Z' is staying in retirement and we get a new wookie with something resembling personality.
Biggs Posted November 20, 2004 Posted November 20, 2004 I really liked having Zaalbar as a party member in KOTOR, he was quite useful in many battles, given the right weapons...I usually used the wookie blade he got given and Ajunta's poison blade, and he kicked serious ass. Sure, you didn't have much interaction with him, but how cool was it doing quests on Korriban with a wookie by your side? It'll be great to have a wookie back as a possible party member, even if it ins't Zaalbar.
213374U Posted November 20, 2004 Posted November 20, 2004 Even on Kashyyssk he felt like an empty shell. What a tool. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Heh. You couldn't even get him to disembowel some of those arrogant Czerka morons. I guess that would have prevented him from winning 'the most passive NPC ever' award. - When he is best, he is a little worse than a man, and when he is worst, he is little better than a beast.
envida Posted November 20, 2004 Posted November 20, 2004 Hate zaalbar too. I used to like wookies but after zaalbaar I cant stand them. Hopefully Obsidian has made a great character for this wookie like chewie was. Seeing as so many disliked zaalbar I dont think they would bring him back.
Azure79 Posted November 20, 2004 Posted November 20, 2004 What's wrong with Zaalbar? He was a great melee fighter with the wookie ceremonial blade and baragwin blade both upgraded. Sure he didn't great AC but usually he killed everyone before that. Sure he didn't talk much, but I don't have wookie partners for the stimulating conversation. Who wants an eloquent wookie going "Hrrrwarrrrr!" al the time anyway? Wookies are there for the menacing physical presence.
Sith Emperor Posted November 20, 2004 Posted November 20, 2004 It sounds like it will be a dark side wookie, if it uses wookie rage. Dark Wookies are awesome!
Laozi Posted November 20, 2004 Posted November 20, 2004 Wookiees, like any other type of character are as good as the story that's built around them People laugh when I say that I think a jellyfish is one of the most beautiful things in the world. What they don't understand is, I mean a jellyfish with long, blond hair.
