"Of course the people don't want war. But after all, it's the leaders of the country who determine the policy, and it's always a simple matter to drag the people along whether it's a democracy, a fascist dictatorship, or a parliament, or a communist dictatorship. Voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is tell them they are being attacked, and denounce the pacifists for lack of patriotism, and exposing the country to greater danger."

...where did the pretty duckies go???...

...it makes Sargy cry...

...WHO LUVS YA, BABY!!...

A long, long time ago, but I can still remember,
How the Trolling used to make me smile.
And I knew if I had my chance, I could egg on a few Trolls to "dance",
And maybe we'd be happy for a while.
But then Krackhead left and so did Klown;
Volo and Turnip were banned, Mystake got run out o' town.
Bad news on the Front Page,
BIOweenia said goodbye in a heated rage.
I can't remember if I cried
When I heard that TORN was recently fried,
But sadness touched me deep inside,
The day...Black Isle died.

For tarna, Visc, an' the rest o' the ol' Islanders that fell along the way

Denial! Denial!

It wasn't a spoof picture. Ducks do stupid things like that all the time and it's one of the reasons why some city councils in England are being petitioned to cover up sewer grates to protect these endangered ducks whose population is dwindling each year due to getting run over by vehicles and falling into pits all the time.

Poor ducks. :D

It's natural selection - and ducks just happen to be urban dwellers these days. Think of whoever took the picture as a documentarian. National Geographic doesn't help all the animals they film to survive. It happens occasionally (like with Steve the Crocodile Hunter and his wife who goes out of their way to protect endangered wildlife) but naturalists generally don't encourage it.

And besides, what could he have done to help them?

I like roosted duck.

You sould see cats crossing streets, they are insane ... one of the funniest thing I seen was a kitten stoping near a bus spot in the middle of a road, a car stoping to not hit him and then he proceded to sniff the car tires forcing the car to blow the horn so he sould move away (he did and it was not hit by cars)

 Geese are more funny. At one intersection in my hometown, there's three schools in close proximity and all the traffic for all these schools passes through this one intersection. There's also a geese pond at this intersection, and the geese would be constantly crossing the street to get to the grassy knoll on the other side where there were all these 'delectable' snails and such. Now if you've ever watched geese, they don't travel in bunches, they go single file, sometimes traffic would be stopped for an hour at a time while the geese crossed the road! :p Eventually they relocated the geese. ;)

Are you sure? They're ducks, not ravens. They aren't exactly the brightest of the flock.

I have cooked a few ducks in my day, but it's always sad seeing baby animals die. I love little critters. I have several ferrets, and if my lease would allow it I'd have more animals. I may be getting a 5 foot python next.

And eating duck is overrated. There is no meat on the birds.

Ferrets ROCK. They don't allow them in California though. :(

If you do end up getting the python though, make sure you keep 'im away from the ferrets.
