Malcador Posted Wednesday at 11:26 PM Posted Wednesday at 11:26 PM https://www.nytimes.com/2025/02/26/us/politics/egg-prices-us-imports.html I think Ukraine has a lot of eggs, should have used that as leverage 1 Why has elegance found so little following? Lexx Posted Thursday at 12:39 AM Posted Thursday at 12:39 AM (edited) So this is a bit of an odd observation, but ... lately I saw that the egg shelf in the supermarket is surprisingly empty. Now I'm wondering if the same idiots who voted for the AfD are the ones who think Germany has an egg price problem because it's what they talk about in America. Maybe I'm wrong, but it's... well.. odd. Edited Thursday at 12:39 AM by Lexx "only when you no-life you can exist forever, because what does not live cannot die."

Maybe I'm wrong, but it's... well.. odd. Bird flu has led to mass deaths of egg-laying chickens in the USA, which is part of the reason the cost is sky-rocketing. (Chicken meat isn't though, since it can be cooked.) The ultimate irony of this is the White House is considering a mass vaccination program to deal with the issue. Side effects don't matter when it's just an animal... but good luck when it breaks out among humans. "It has just been discovered that research causes cancer in rats."
Lexx Posted Thursday at 06:58 AM Posted Thursday at 06:58 AM Yeah, but as far as I know, we don't have that issue here in Germany right now. So panic-buying eggs is... really not necessary. Besides, it's not like you can store them for years like toilet paper. 1 "only when you no-life you can exist forever, because what does not live cannot die."

Talking about anti-vaxxers, Im sure you aware of the measles outbreak in Texas https://www.dshs.texas.gov/news-alerts/texas-announces-first-death-measles-outbreak And the official advice from the Texas health department is " The best way to prevent getting sick is to be immunized with two doses of a measles-containing vaccine, which is primarily administered as the combination measles-mumps-rubella or MMR vaccine. Two doses of the MMR vaccine prevent more than 97 percent of measles infections. A small number of vaccinated people can occasionally develop measles. In these cases, the symptoms are generally milder, and they are less likely to spread the disease to other people. DSHS and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention recommend children receive one dose of MMR at 12 to 15 months of age and another at 4 to 6 years. Children too young to be vaccinated are more likely to have severe complications if they get infected with the measles virus. However, each MMR dose lowers the risk of infection and the severity of illness if infected. " So it also seems vaccines become fine when there is a outbreak of a virus? On a related note, sales of Tesla have suddenly plummeted in Europe. It's either a political comment or just a random fluctuation; time will tell. The figures included Jack Posobiec, who helped spread the false “Pizzagate” conspiracy theory about Democrats’ operating a satanic child abuse ring out of a Washington pizzeria that led to a shooting at the restaurant. Some went on to cheer the release of the files on their social media accounts. But almost immediately some of them started downplaying what was in the documents. bugarup Posted yesterday at 09:42 AM Posted yesterday at 09:42 AM On I hope also related note, I read that those chinless and brainless mouthbreathers Tate brothers were flied from Romania to USA. Cannot wait to see what post in Trump administration they will be offered. 1
Lexx Posted yesterday at 10:06 AM Posted yesterday at 10:06 AM (edited) Problem is, none of those files can be trusted now. GOP could just easily have made up their own crap, filling the list with their enemies and removing who they don't want to be on it. Pretty sure they will just try to discredit whoever isn't in line with Trump yet. It's another step on the ladder to the final fascist form. I hope they get deported back to Romania or the EU to face the justice they deserve These things take time but extradition does happen between the EU and the USA So Tate brothers may avoid this now under Trump but not the next Democratic presidency if the EU applies formally for extradition 1 "Abashed the devil stood and felt how awful goodness is and saw Virtue in her shape how lovely: and pined his loss” John Milton "We don't stop playing because we grow old; we grow old because we stop playing.” - George Bernard Shaw "What counts in life is not the mere fact that we have lived.
